  • i have this car, and it works very nice!!!!!!! but honestly is very difficult to find the pieces and mecanic parts when it needs to be fixed... but i love this car......=)

  • that particular model and year of 626 are pretty much NON existent now! Very rare to find one as of 2011

  • @fueledbymusic3 Very true, I've been looking for a while and finally bought one just before winter, 82 luxury model, all power options, with only 77xxx kms.

  • @shokid WOW, how much did you pay for it? Must of been a pretty penny for one with that little miles.

  • @fueledbymusic3 I paid $3k canadian, was owned by an old man who just used it for shopping, he put the first 68K on it, his mechanic bought it off of him before he passed away, and the previous owner got it from the mechanic, I thought it was a little pricey but really isn't bad considering how rare and in good shape it is, the interior is spotless, oil sprayed, nice clean car. Going to keep it original for sure.

  • I believe Susan Boyd Joyce--nee Lawrence--did the "Just One Look" vocal for this commercial.

  • 39 mpg highway on a 1981 car? The automakers haven't made a single improvement in 30 years in fuel economy

  • @veryslyfox Back then it was a non-issue, only post 90's has this become center of attention.

  • @veryslyfox The EPA test has changed since. 39mpg back then is equivalent to maybe 30-32mpg on today's EPA test. Still, not much improvement.

Fuel economy was a very big deal from the late 70s, when gas prices shot up to over a buck a gallon, until the mid-80s when they dropped again. Every car with decent mileage had the EPA mpg ratings in a huge font.

  • From "road manners" to Zoom-Zoom. It seems Mazda's cars (and marketing) are light years better now.

  • This commercial is awesome! That's all it took. lol. Thanks for posting. Please check out our newly updated channel, and subscribe.

  • mazda 626 was my first car... tranny went out after 6 months (car was new at the time) and i quickly traded it for an acura RL..btw what an awful commercial the song is horrible..i prefer any jingle over this one.

  • @joshuaren989 that's pretty funny, considering honda has the worst auto transmissions of any japanese autromaker right now. ...

  • lol and to think these are worth mega bucks now for rotary conversions

  • @kiwipilot84

ive got one if anyone got the coin...hehe

  • Ive got the 82-83 626 super deluxe .. Owned it for 9 years (mint Condition) Best car i will ever own.

  • Great Car!

  • lol I thought they said it had recycled seats

  • For reasons known only to Mazda's marketing department in the UK, it was known there as "Mazda Montrose"...

As it was, while reliable, they were not renowned for their rusting abilities - hence why so few are left...

  • I've got a 88' coupe in mint condition ;)

  • haha sounds like that dude from fear and loathing in las vegas "just testing the rear end for stress factors' hahaha

  • fuck thats mint i wish i could find a 62 coup these days.if there is one still that mint out there id pay $6795 for 1

  • I love the soulful "yeeaah!" at the 13 second mark as he jams it in gear.

  • the 2.2 turbo's go 300,000 miles if you take care of them

  • Mazda has something different from the other car makers from Japan, Mazda has a soul in its cars.

  • mein vater hatte mal solch ein schmuckstück.

sieht heute immer noch echt geil sportlich aus. schade das er schon nach 1 jahr mit rost zu kämpfmen hatte. ein traum von coupe...

  • You get what you pay for. Our 83 model did not run after 90,000 miles

  • why what went wrong with it??

  • Blown head gasket. Engine overheated and locked up forever.

  • did you buy it brand new???? did you like driving it?? was it a good overall car even thouhg it blew a head gasket and overheated??

  • My dad bought the car brand spanking new. For the first 75K miles or so, we used it as a family car which treated us well. It took us on long trips, camping, and brought my Dad work as well.Yes, it followed a strict maintenance schedule. I felt it was not up to par with toyota and honda of the same class (Corrola & Civic). I never drove it ( to answer your question, It was bought new, I was too young at the time to drive it, and it was good "overall" for the first 75K miles and crap thereafter)

  • what did your father get after the 83 locked up?

  • @jakesaintsrow123 My dad's credit was so bad the only dealer that would sell him a car was the same place he got his 83 from. He drove home a new tornado grey 1986 Mazda 626 LX. I inherited the car in 1990. Since then, it started to progressively drink coolant and spit it thru the exhaust. A year later, it over heated as I was on the fwy. I took a big risk hoping to limp it in its hot state a half mile more to the next exit. Big mistake. Bye Bye Mazda. The car only had 160K miles. Yes my fault.

  • Only $6795 ? That's cheap!

  • not really that was like 20,000 back in the 80s

  • Adjusted for inflation, that was a fortune for a piece o' junk like that.

    Cheap? Ha! What a maroon!

  • @7772399 Not in the 80's it wasn't.

  • in the 80s!
