  • How long did this repair actually take you? I had this repair done on my son's laptop this past week, plus they put in a dirty, used keyboard--not telling me they were going to give me a used one. With the keyboard and 2 hours of labor I walked out $211.57 lighter than I had gone in! I am a nurse and don't know anything about computers or their prices. Did I get ripped off?

  • Awesome!

What Satellite Model is this i need to replace the DC Jack on my T.S. C655D-S5200.

I just want to know if the disassembly is the same or similar to the video im thinking about fixing it myself....Thanks!

  • Whats up with the gay sticker?

  • could i try applying power to the back of the jack to confirm if it is the jack? ny wifes a305 is dead to the wind no nothing

  • This person is grounded, and is also working one handed alot, which is what I learned in computer school... Also you can be grounded through straps in the legs too.

  • What tools are you using in this video? I know obviously a screwdriver and a flathead but whats that green thing I see? and where can I get one!

  • You know you don't have to take the whole motherboard out to replace the DC pin right? You also don't have to take out the RAM. I work in a warranty repair centre and take these things apart all the time. Along with tons of other brands (desktop and laptop).

  • How do you replace the cooling fan?, I bought a new one(w/o heatsink attached) and it looks like its half of the heatsink because it wont fit IN the heatsink :/ .

Anyone wanna take a stab at this?

  • I LOVE YOU TU CUCU...TE LA HECHASTES BUENA,,,MAJE

  • Great video! Where can I buy a new jack from? I have a satellite L305D-S5895 and can only find one online seller from the UK.

  • Excellent video. Thank you for uploading.

By the way, shouldn't you be using an anti-static while grabbing the motherboard--or other components?

  • @jgbalboa You're welcome! I stay grounded while handling static sensitive devices.

  • @FastVideoTech Cool, how do you stay grounded?

  • @jgbalboa That band with the black box on his right wrist is a capacitive discharge anti-static unit (see 3:21), plus you can be grounded with foot straps if your floor is coated and grounded. Wired straps are so outdated and a pain in the butt to work with.

  • @jgbalboa it looked to me like she was grounded, I'm wondering if that strap on the wrist is a grounding strap. The ones I used in school attached to the wrist and the pc.I was taught as long as you have one arm touching the case, you are grounded, and to try to work one handed as much as possible so you can have one hand for working and one for grounding.... I know that was one long run-on sentence LOL... I enjoyed the Video. Thanks for uploading this.

  • @jgbalboa they are grounded and working one-handed much as possible. there are also leg straps and antistatic mats. I thought it was a good video, thanks for uploading this.

  • Hey I have the same situation as you described, I coudln't replace it with a spare DC jack which I bought, any update how to solve this situation?

  • I am trying to replace the DC jack in my nb205 but the white end that connects to the motherboard doesn't have a plug in socket like this satellite laptop. I think the old one was soldered on - should i desolder it off and resolder on the new one? it's a bit strange since the white end looks like it should plug into something but it doesn't
