When I was a kid I couldn't wait to watch him every Saturday at 1 P.M. on PBS. I had my mother buy me paint so I could paint along with him. He was the best ever R.I.P Bob Ross.

I found myself watching PBS while I was sick (mainly because I was too lazy/sick to change channel). This show came on and literally put me to sleep. I'm not trying to suggest the show is bad, but man is his voice melodic. I don't know how the cameraman can stand up by the end of the show.

I'm new to Bob Ross, I haven't heard of him before and I'm still in awe over this man. I'm an art student, but all I hear is Picasso, Da Vinci, Monet, and yes they are very amazing artists, but when you look at their art, even their sketches, it's hard to learn much. To me at least. Then I feel like, ok this is Da vinci's, I'm not even suppose to be this good. But watching this video, hearing his calming voice explaining, showing exactly how to paint a happy little cloud, then I learn from that.

Bob Ross was like the adult Mr. Rogers, always encouraging, never condensing. Even if you were a beginning he said you can do it if you put your mind to it. I think he became the mellow guy he was after being in the Air Force and if you look at his wiki page that he said when he got out he would never be the guy who yells at anyone after yelling at people what to do.
