  • Great vid . very tidy pit .volvo s are best .... quarry or pits. over 17000 hours on one in work and its as good as the day it came from the factory. I know of one with 27000 hours on the clock, and its still on all original engine and transmission... Who can complain about that for service.. no harm to have a tight pit in the winter .... avoids secondary heat in the silage. You will get a sealed finish on your pit with the shear grab.A problem with a lot of self propelled silage outfits

  • fair paly m8 thtas one tidy clamp!!

  • Landini135 ud wanna get ur facts rite "mate",mud6920s did drive dat shovel da day he sed he was drivin it because i drove it da same day,and iv driven da 414,da new and old landinis,da 6620's AND DA RENAULTS plenty of times so it luks like sum1 from muds side of da country has driven yer gear.

  • that is 1 gd driver and 1 big machine

  • well moss how life down under ? hope the lads are doind well well it get mad ere fahy is spending again a 7800 forager and new loader mikey ridoran a new 400 big m lol it a and on deck as they say lol

  • The boys are flying it here,we're working together now at spuds in Ashburton so a good oul laugh. There must be no recession with the contractors at home haha. The 7800 will be worth going to see. What loader is he buying?

  • wat volvo is dat??

  • L110f

  • @mud6920s savage vid man

  • The Pope would be handy on a pit with a loader of this size!!!

  • Super man on a pit!!

  • So much for one pass a load, I counted 2 and a third would have been needed, clever editing that. And by the way kane makes a poor trailer, buckraked to 18fts before and they take a very small load for their size, 16ft herrons with all the greedy sides take a bigger load.

  • Yes you are spot on,3 passes to clear a 22ft which is a hell of alot bigger than an 18ft load.Just shy of an acre of grass per load in an average crop.

As for the Herron once again your spot on they are a super trailer but not so sure the Kane are as bad as you say.Contractor in the video has been buying them for 20 years now and never a problem. They hold their value well which is a good sign of any piece of gear.

  • Kane aren't a bad trailer, just never found them to hold the same amount of grass as trailers the same length. Herron just seem take more with them.

  • good vid, tidy pit!

  • forget about what loader is best that pit is down to the driver he is good on it u wont see many pits as tidy as that

  • tidy pit

  • Pa Carrolls JCB 434 would kill that Volvo. The JCB is the only 250hp shoval specially built for silage, them volvos are very slow climbing steep pits....

  • I drove Pa's 434 and its a good shovel but a little on the light side.

As for lilling that volvo you need to stand in the yard for 5 minutes and watch it push 22ft loads up in 1 go regardless of how steep the pit is.

I'm pretty sure you'll leave with a different opinion of the volvo's

  • Anything dem Volvos can do, the 434 can do better! Big Volvos should stick to the flat ground in a quarry.... :-). Anyway weight kills power, thats why a 434 would be up and down a pit before that Volvo would even be under the load...

  • If you want speed get one of those retarded buckrakes on the front of a 200hp tractor. They will outperform any loader speed-wise everytime.Surely the aim is to have weight to pack and at over 23 tons the volvo is far ahead of the 15 ton 434

Anyone who has seen both machines working will agree the volvo is a far better machine. There's a reason most big contractors have them.

  • @mud6920s Eddie walsh has a fine outfit no doubt, and the gear is spotless by him, but a CAT 910 would pike what eddie cuts in a season, he used cut allot of grass but lost a heap of work in the last four years. As for driving Pa's shoval, I doubt if u were mate,id have a good idea who was up in dat shoval, and der wasnt anyone from ur side of the country near it....

  • Will you tell me what pays for Eddie's gear if he's lost all this work?.I'm with him 6 years and its more or less the same acres and jobs, those oul Ballyduff rumours can be misleading haha.

Now a 434 pushing up from a 7500 and 18fts,that would be 910 territory alright.

You'll be shocked to find out that not 1 but 2 of us drove the shovel that day near Ballyconry.

If you get a chance this year cross the ferry bridge and hit for Duagh and you'll see a proper shovel in action.

  • @Landini135 who is this fucking mule, a 910 my hole , you'd want to go back to the little hole you crawled out of, i hate cunts who are jealous of others, signs on your name is landini they only heaps of scrap too, this eddie walsh has best of gear from what i can see and hardly has all this gear if it wasnt payin.

  • @silagepitman1 Keep ur knickers on, im only having the laugh with mud6920s,i couldnt give 2 sods what eddie walsh is or isnt cutting......

  • @Landini135 fella over here with me drove that shovel same day as mud, you sayin the jcb 434 is ten times better than volvo, think u need to do your homework, gave the last five months drawing silage into one over here in new zealand an the volvo would shit it, pa carroll has lovely outfit but volvo is far better shovel, dont give out about something u never drove or know about

  • Spot on my friend.

All well and good having the speed to get up the pit but a JCB will need to make an extra pass to clear the load which overall will make it slower than the Volvo

  • you talk out of your backside about volvo loading shovels, they wil out push any other shovel on the market today

  • @Landini135 the volvo may be slow on a pit but they are gr8 loaders the reason its slow is cos it weighs 23 tons enuf to have fairly flattened grass

  • some machine id love to see a volvo 220 or even a 330 on the pit :L:L

  • What is she like on the road?

  • Like a car

  • what size tyres? not the usual 750s? I'd imagine the rim is larger and a wider tyre?

  • Ya they are 800s.We drove a 110E last year in Cork and the only problem we could see was the ground clearance so he went for a taller, wider tyre on the new one.Really makes a differance.I've never seen a shovel to climb like it,it just never spins

  • that thing is too big for the pit

    should be in an quarry

  • When that harvester is flat out on close draws its a dozer you'd need.Farmers love it although I reckon there could be a few shear grabs broken this winter

  • yeah

i still like the jcb 434s

    its cheaper

not as powerful but better to own overall

  • Yep JCB 434 is a great shovel but they just seem to fall apart after a few years hard work.Volvo a better built shovel allround

  • so true but for the time they work there are a beauty

volvo feels good and all but too expensive for some

  • Nice video.

    What is the music?

  • Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's

  • Its definetly the best shovel I've ever driven.Great to climb, savage power to flick and super smooth to drive. The comfort in those cabs is unreal

  • tis a nice loader is it as good as it looks du u find any faults wit it or is it dee machine to push grass

  • Put me on your page as a friend coz i cant send messages to you,you mexican gangster.

  • very tasty

  • That is a real neat pit of silage. I'v looked at other vids and the pit is shocking bad. Definitly not putting that volvo to waste.

  • Cheers for the comment.Making a tidy pit is always easy with a good machine

  • Sure was, every pub was pouring on to the street

  • Good operator and some weapon of a machine.

Is Abbeyfeale much of a distance from ye?

  • No not that far maybe only half an hour or so from base thats probably as far as we go

  • Not so bad so, I was in Ballybunion on Saturday night and it was a good distance back to Adare so thats why I was wondering.

Some crowd down there on sat night, the streets where full to the brim.

  • Heard that.i'd there was a fair bit of leg around

  • some yok!!!

  • Tasty Operator
