At the end of the day its obviously up to him. Personally he is my favorite lightweight mixed martial artist ever. I agree he can still be the man at 155 but it will be harder because of the young up and comers. But he has the experience edge. I also agree about the cardio (if he can't get the opponent out of there quickly) needs improvement. I'm a huge Diaz fan as well but the jury is still out on how he will do against good wrestlers. His style is great but he won't have that advantage over Anderson. He doesn't use footwork at all. He comes forward and sets a pace that overwhelms his opponent.

Its possible he could outstrike Anderson but I highly doubt it. Anderson moves too good and uses more than just punches. Plus Anderson is too big and strong for it to really matter if Nick gets him on the cage unless you're talking about striking, then I agree.

@overgrow00 I think with GSP's layoff the odds will be more even actually, almost to the point of a "pick em." The reason I thought Diaz might surprise everybody is his toughness. GSP would probably only stand long enough to get a surprise takedown. And he could easily manhandle Diaz, but with Nick's bjj, he would stay active and turn it into a chess match. If GSP doesn't finish the fight with gnp or cut Diaz with elbows, he could possibly gas in the later rounds. Then it gets interesting.

At the end of the day its obviously up to him. Personally he is my favorite lightweight mixed martial artist ever. I agree he can still be the man at 155 but it will be harder because of the young up and comers. But he has the experience edge. I also agree about the cardio (if he can't get the opponent out of there quickly) needs improvement. I'm a huge Diaz fan as well but the jury is still out on how he will do against good wrestlers. @overgrow00 I think with GSP's layoff the odds will be more even actually, almost to the point of a "pick em." The reason I thought Diaz might surprise everybody is his toughness. GSP would probably only stand long enough to get a surprise takedown. And he could easily manhandle Diaz, but with Nick's bjj, he would stay active and turn it into a chess match. If GSP doesn't finish the fight with gnp or cut Diaz with elbows, he could possibly gas in the later rounds. Then it gets interesting.

the best thing for me about diaz is that he is always real, he never puts on an act, he never tried to be someone he isnt, he is always nick diaz and thats a breath of fresh air to see, the guy is a savage. how can people say gsp will beat him easy? did people not notice how good his defense is against bj when taken down? damn. ive known about diaz for a long time. hes the realest fighter on the planet. and yeah gsp is only guy with a chance of beating him, i hope diaz beats him, he deserves it.

@jonthedonable no, u trying to put words in my mouth...they both have better wrestling and take downs then Diaz. They both also have great submission skills, since they are both also stronger then Diaz they will get a finish once they have him on the ground. just wait for nicks next 2 fights u will see. Nicks boxing and cardio wont help him when he has a strong wrestler on top of him.
