I was 1962 when I first heard this song in the bowling alley of Lovelock Nevada. From this point onward I wanted Hammond B-3......I finally bought one in 1998 and remembered Booker T and his inspiration in my life.....this song catapulted me into my music career....Thanks Booker T and the MG's........
some background history of this song that should be noted and remembered is that segregation and racism were still a fact of life in the south. And yet through all of the struggles of the African American people great songs like this emerged!
This is great music. Oldies like me really miss this kind of music. Just Clean good music. I still remember him when he was about 16 and I was 13. They performed at the Malco Theater in Memphis along with Carla and Rufus Thomas. It doesn't get any better than this.
You mean nobody knows the names of the other cats on stage with Booker T. ? Anyone out there want to help me out ? Where's some of these know-it-alls, huh ?
@tubellarbells That's why I posted my comment. I believe the MGs are easy to identify and they are not on stage here. I wonder why ?. Maybe some sort of big festival with fusion of bands ?.
@tubellarbells They played together a long time ago. It could be that some of them are dead by now. Booker T was only 16 when he recorded Green Onions. The other guys in the band were much older than he was. He's an old man of about 69 now. that would make those other guys in their 70's
can you please tell me who that is on the sg playing men i really plays that solo fantastic ,i'm wondering how h'e plays it i'd loved to lurn it

@kokobest10 That's vague, bozo. There are three guitar players on stage. Be specific and make some sense.
