For those who do not understand the concept of NO OPTION:, here is a basic outline.... To have an option, a person requires at least two of the following: 1/ Education 2/ Emotional and Financial support 3/ A Refuge 4/ Freedom from on going presecution and freedom from fear of abuse. 5/ The support of family and friends. A woman who resides in these communities has NONE of the above.

A very tragic situation. I recognized the music...I was Deora's step father for 13 years and had a good relationship with her father, Derrill Bodley who wrote the music. Sadly, he died in a motorcycle accident on his 60th birthday on Sept. 21, 2005. I know he would (and may have known) approve the use of his music for this video. I have faith he is reunited with Deora in Peace.

It's easy to be King in Paradise...so it's easy to rationalize that there are ways to respond other than what these women are doing. And there are. But for these women....for whatever reason coming from their cultural dynamic....there isn't. I don't understand the response either...but I'm also not living the lives these women have endured. True despair is a black hole swallowing all hope. Rational thought rarely comes from it.

Exactly -- they do feel hopeless and it IS because of ISLAM. The problem with your offer is that these women can't get out of their predicament -- they are trapped. And their shouting out to the world! You know it's time for the world to listen. This leaves all the crazy people, jealous people, war-torn people, over time the generations of people left were all like this. Now how do you expect them to have manners. In America we have trashy people imagine all those people left here for a generation or two. Women during the Islamic empire had more rights then anywhere at the time. Thus during the time of Muhammad PBUH when the religion had nobody to twist it. Some places in Afghanistan have people who dont even understand the Koran but state that they do giving fake information. As war started everyone who had the money fled the country... (afghanistan is in the world records for most emigrants) this left uneducated people and poor people.

These things that women do is all out of pain i am sure you all agree on that. Their family members or whoever hurt them do for power no other reason. In the beginning the lady states that her husband hit her for no reason. I understand it because my parents are from afghanistan. This shows that the man really wasn't following his relogion god doesn't say go and hit your women for no reason you have to have a reason. Islam is a religion of peace, equality, etc

This has nothing to do with religion, its just the law is not stricted that males should be arrested when any abuse happens to a women. They need some work in policing. Even in the west, non afghan women still gets abuse from their husbands. I hope you have seen or heard many news like this. Becuase i have heard alot.

I absolutely agree with you. Women do get abused by there husbands for many different reasons other than religion. But when the Bible and Quran state that its okay to abuse your children and your wife. And "highly religious" people take this literally. I would only need to assume that women get abused because Allah or God says its okay. Now do you want to take the Bible and Quran literally or metaphorically?

Er...Bible never says to abuse children and wife. It says to love one another and that's what Jesus said. I dont know about koran but in Koran it does say it's all right to abuse wives but I think it is also made up. Get your facts right if you havent read either Bible or Koran. As for "highly religious" people, i think i will agree with you on that.

maybe you are right but I read NIV versions and they said to love one another-I dont know-there are many denominations in Christianity like catholics lutherans etc as well but in my denomination says to love one another and treat equally. That's what I was taught. I didnt come from a Christian family to begin with-my family is Muslim but we all appreciate the teachings of Christ cos unlike koran which actually says to torture and punish women Bible gives the true meaning
