  • Maybe my eyes are fooling me but I think one of the blond girls was in Lethal Weapon 1. She played Amanda Hunsucker. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • @frank53681 all i know is i will see all these gals in my dream tonight ---

  • great band great song

  • Amazing harmonies !!

  • Why is Ms. Swift's name stinking up this video?

  • Saw these guys play the Wayne County fair in Ohio in Sept 2011. They were rockin that place! They were awesome!

  • You betcha! Back when Country was Country. Country music as a whole is sad today including Taylor Swift. Daddy goes to Nashville with $6 million dollars and buys a record deal. Country music was about working class folks, now it's about young rich kids who sing about things they know nothing about yet, Life.

Kenny Williams "The Memphis Voice of Elvis"

  • @tcbtn1 Restless Heart was probably the biggest reason I started listening to country music back in the late 80's, and i'm sure the country purists back then said the same thing about them that you're saying about Taylor. Everyone's taste in country is gonna be different, and I think you're being unduly harsh in your criticism of her music, it's good music. She's outselling everyone, so to me, your criticism in unjustified and rings of jealousy. If you don't like it, don't listen to it

  • @wcrew97 Taylor Swift is an outstanding performer and I was not speaking against her talent. I am speaking about a day and time in the past when regular folks with dreams and talent had a chance in Nashville. I also never heard anyone say that Restless Heart was not pure Country. Though I never signed with a label, I spent 20 years in the music industry and know what I am talking about. Wynona Judd, Alan Jackson, George Straight etc. share my same thoughts and I'm sure, they aren't "jealous".

  • the 5 people that disliked this video were the same brain dammaged people that quoted "out with the old and in with the new."

  • haven't heard this song in forever. almost forgot about this one. great song. todays country sucks.

  • OMG -- I'm dying over the John Oates mustache!!!!

Almost 25 years later and I still know all the lyrics......

Great song -- great album -- great group!

  • I love classic 80's country with every bone in my body.....Where the hell did country music go? Everybody today is nothing but a wannabe!

  • @ThePreacheroftheword You might want to be careful with those blanket statements. Because with that, you just called the likes of Reba, George Straight and Alan Jackson wannabe's. All the same I understand your point that there are a lot of singers that don't fit the "traditional mold". That, I think is just the evolution of the genre.

  • @ThePreacheroftheword I love this comment. I was born in 1985 and i didnt get to hear this music when it first was coming out since I was so young. Having said that I think late 80's early 90's country was the best. New country is basically pop music.

  • Back when Country was Great ... these songs are gone forever

  • Yes we need country like this again, where did these guys go?

  • this was around the time period when country music was the best. Country music, or any music for the matter sucks now.

  • I was dis-owned by both parents yesterday. They're "sick and tired" of driving me to my chemotherapy treatments. And a lot more. I woke up singing this song - God really works in mysterious ways. He talks to me through my dreams. This song is perfect for my situation. Thank God!!!

  • this is the kind of country that mattered to people. You understood what they were talking about and they wrote these songs for a reason not money.

  • @rip607 I agree! The songs actually meant something to someone and people could identify with them and they became part of the soundtrack of peoples lives. I miss the harmonies and sounds that came from bands like them, little Texas, Diamond Rio, and others. There are only a handful that semi comes close to heaving meaningful songs to people now. :(

  • @ShawnaLynneP Agreed...but Alabama weren't all that Country either. More Southern Pop/Rock. Restless Heart had Alabama, Eagles, and Poco leaning, but I've always found them more in the vein of Toto, Mr. Mister, Glass Tiger, 80s Chicago, etc. Very West Coast styled. Still great, but I'd say more Lite AOR/West Coast than Country.

  • @bigdctherock No offense, but Alabama was most def country!

  • @bigdctherock I'd say Alabama were about 75% Country. Moreso than the others, but they had a few tunes that were straight Pop or straight Rock. Mainly on the album cuts and Jeff Cook got a decent amount of Rock-styled numbers. "Lovin' Man," "Lovin' You is Killin' Me," "Cruisin'," etc. are not Country songs. They are very much rock songs. No offense, so I guess we can agree to disagree. Yeah, they were more Country, but had Rock influences.

  • By the way, comment intended for dmbouchard84, not me, obviously. My bad.

  • Ppl who dislike this suck cock! Awesome song!!

  • I heard this on the radio today.....I didn't know it was that old....but I love how it just relaxes you....:)

  • one of THEE great bands of all time. depressing how few recall them

  • no. this isnt country. this is pop. country is george strait and alabama.

  • @ShawnaLynneP yea you're right. I didn't hear on hint on steel guitar. Good song though.

  • i was born in 81 and i still rember this song u guys are the shit

  • Is that Amy Grant @ 30, 52, and 58 seconds? Whoever the brunette is that has her hair up in a bun for this video bears an uncanny resemblance to Smitty's great musical friend.

  • This songg also has alot of meaning to it if u think about it.!!

  • I love this songg!<3

I heard it 2day and came home && looked it up!! lol

  • One of the last great country songs/videos.

  • I saw them back in 1988, great conert and great song.

  • I saw these guys in concert back in 2005 in Parsons, Ks it was my first ever concert to go to and i loved it they are great just wish i could hear more of them

  • Can someone upload "no end to this road" by restless heart. Thanks. This is an awesome song. thanks for uploading this great song.

  • this is why i don't listen to todays country..this is much better <3

  • @Scott89878 Thanks for the feedback...guess I'll have to start complaining to my local stations

  • I love this song... It's a shame about the quality though. Somebody should download a new one...

  • I seen them live along with Little Texas last year at Wooten Park in Tavares FL. Great Music!

  • Seen them in concert last night. It was amazing!! Restless heart is amazing :)

  • Always loved this song, remember hearing it on the radio when i was about 4-5 when it was new. Anyone else think one of these girls looks like Courtney Cox?

  • When Country was in fact Country...need these guys, and many others, to start making music again

  • @MrWhiskeyPig These guys are still making music. The problem is country radio not wanting to play real music. Rather they play the demographics game so they get more listeners rather than "good" music. My favorite band Blackhawk has been touring and making music for a decade since their greatest hits came out but radio would rather play Kenny Chesney or Rascal Flatts.

  • country these days aint what it used to be.

  • Can someone post please post "no end to this rod by restless heart." thanks

  • Greg Doutrich sounded great on "When She Cries" but Larry Stewart makes Restless Heart!! This is a great song and a good video and I am glad to have found it online. I always laugh at the bandanna tie and long stringy hear wtih the balding front that the bass player is sporting.. he looks like a railroad worker!

  • Fuck ya check out those blue jean everything

  • BOM DE MAIS,ADOREI.

  • i loved larry stewart, sure miss this guy

  • i think when every new country artist lists the bands an musicians that influenced them they should stop an think.... wow if they listened to my music they would be sickened.. new country is a joke an for the most part is rock with lyrics singing about there tractors an stupid ass shit.. this era of country was definatly a defining moment of when country was at its peak.. todays shit blows ass

  • @metallicaman20 Yeah, back in 70s and 80s there was a bigger variety of styles of country music. So there was just about something for everyone then. I like just about everything from those years. For me it all went in the toilet in the early 90s when they fired up the hat factory and turned it all into a star of the month club. Man, I hate today's "county" crap with a passion.

  • 60's 70's & 80's the best music ever made.

  • But still I wonder... Why does it have to be PC (politically correct)???

  • This is beautiful! Where did this music go???

I love you, baby! I just hope that someday I can tell you how I really feel....this song reminds me of you every time I hear it. You're perfect and beautiful, don't you ever change. I love you just the way you are, and I love everything about you. You're amazing, and you're everything I've ever dreamed of. Stay beautiful, Cowboy! ♥

  • This is beautiful. Where did this music go???

I love you, baby! This song always reminds me of you, and I hope someday I'll get to tell you how I really feel....you're amazing and I love everything about you. You're perfect, don't change. ♥ Stay beautiful!

    ♥P♥

  • Restless Heart, Blackhawk, Little Texas, and Shenandoah were the best.

  • @frostycool22 agreed....plus....theres to many to list as a youtube comment!

  • @frostycool22 They will never make music like that ever again. Too bad.

  • @Oureradication It truly is such a sad thing to know.... I miss new songs like this come out it's a bitter sweet thing listening to to amazing songs like this knowing no new ones are going to be coming out anytime soon :(

  • @frostycool22 you forgot sawyer brown. lol godbless.

  • The title of the video, say's it all. Now I know where postmodernism came from. lol.

  • Another 80's classic. After Alabama, this was my favorite band.

  • What happened to Bands like this, Just close your eyes listen to the harmony!! So So smoothe!!!

  • yeah country is so twangy and unoriginal these days or totally pop-like

  • question to any synth players watching... what GM MIDI tone do I need to use to emulate the sound heard here? I'm assuming it's some kind of clavinet or electric piano sound, but I could be wrong... could really use some help. Trying to write my own stuff, and I LOVE the keyboards on here...

  • @blozier2006 it's the "EP Magic" sound on the Korg SG Pro-X

  • Keyboard guitar!!!

  • 4 people missed the like button.

  • @hiptomyheart99 I'm glad I'm not one of them!

  • Still a 5 star song.....and a 5 star group!! :)

  • RH hit #1 country, and #11 AC in Billboard. God bless!

  • i miss it too

  • Love It

  • country version of the eagles we had a band called cool country and warner brothers said we sounded like them with a charlie lovin lead singer i dont know about that but i miss restless heart and those hay days!

  • Comment removed

  • When it comes to harmony; none better in my book. BTW is that Margot Kidder in this video?

  • yea.. this song fits... great song!

  • i LOVE this songg!!!!

  • I had the LP.I never knew there was a video. I liked it loads then.Find it a bit pre-fab corporate country-rock now.

  • A great song straight from the heart. Not too many coming out these days. Thank god for the ones that do, and the ones that where.

  • Angel

  • Why is it that the good music is real short?

  • Good question. "Why does it have to be wrong or right? Why do we have to hurt one to love another? Why does it have to be black or white? Why do we have to hurt one to love another?" (If this isn't how the line goes, please feel free to let me know!)

  • Country music started to become a train wreck in the 90s. Once country music started to lose the fiddle, honky tonk piano, and pedal steel guitar, it lost the very things that made it country. At that point it just became pop music with a southern accent. The vocal harmony in this song is what makes it a stone classic. Restless Heart, Alabama, Shenandoah, Southern Pacific...these bands were country music's last stand.

  • OHHHH, memories, I grew up listening to buck owens radio station on am radio

  • I miss this kind of true music also ... this song was my oldest (now 24) son's song when he was a child. his father and I was never married & he absolutely loves my hubby (been together since he was 4 and he used this sing to show how he felt about how kids sometimes feel caught in the middle.

Not to many people use music in that honest... dealing with life way anymore

  • What a great time for Country Music! Daggum I wish Country Music sounded like this today!

  • great song

  • True country. I love it

  • 80sall shoutout does nebody no whatever happened 2 The Tractors or Confederate Railroad or Black Hawk or The Buffalo Club or 2 the band that put out the song "Feed Jake" these were (n my humble opinion) sum great acts of the 90's that just seemed 2 fizzle out. let me no what u think by shouting back (not really) at me thru the board. :D

  • @80Sall

"Feed Jake" was recorded by Pirates of the Mississippi. Most of the best bands from the early 90s are unfortunately no longer together. I saw Confederate Railroad a few years back in Raleigh and they were still awesome; they are still great.

  • @six2southpaw I thhought "Feed Jake" was by Billy Dean

  • wish they were still producing music

  • sweet keytar solo

  • i miss this music, love country but they hardly ever play songs like this,

  • A very cool 80's country video/song. :)

  • One of the best bands of all time!

  • @ROwyoCO not

  • Actually my Husband is a On Air Personality on the top Country radio station here in Branson Mo & he is doing an interview with them this afternoon (Larry Stewart lead singer and John Dittrich Drummer ) ( & YES They do play Restless Heart lol )

  • This is truly a great country song. Restless Heart does a great job. 5*****!

  • Dennis Eckersly can not only pitch, he can play drums too.

  • just heard this on the radio this morning. so cheesy but quite thoughtful :) why does it have to be wrong or right, one way or the other, black or white, hurt one to love another. sigh.

  • wow on the radio...didnt know country radio PLAYED country music anymore LOL

  • who said anything about country radio

  • whatever

  • i saw these guys in concert last year, they were the openers and i actually think they were better than the main show.

  • I miss this kind of music.

  • @chrisbeckysmith2006 I am soo with u here...this was one of those songs that played both on pop and country radio.....these guys crossed over all the time....so no matter if u look at as country or pop, it still has a simplicity that is missing from today's music both country or rock/pop

  • @debfan74 SO TRUE!!!!!!!!! :D

  • @chrisbeckysmith2006 oh so do i. i wished that time travel was available cause i wuld go back & relive those days just so that o culd listen 2 these great songs all over again on my stereo 4 the 1st time. Ir u agree with then contact me thru the message board. :D

  • this is when country music was country music smooth as silk and makes ya wanna pick up an insturment

  • @TheHarper2009 ur rite this is when country was country. i thnk the shit that's cumng out 2day is allrite but nun of it can hold a verse, chourse, lyric or even a note 4 that matter 2 the great songs of yesteryear. if u agree with me then reply thru the board. :D

  • @TheHarper2009

Seriously, country music is just all pop and hiphop now. I don't even listen to the new stuff. The last songs that were even remotly good came out in 2003.

  • @TheHarper2009 Started playing guitar because i was brought up on this music...still listen to it today and think about being a kid...

  • right...so i was writing something up, and one of the lines was "it doesn't have to be one way or another." and i sat there and was like.....this...is from a song...i know it is.....

so i went, and i looked up the lyrics i knew, and i found the song, and now i am listening to it again and again......

    i love this song!

  • this song is from the summer of 1987 !

  • Love this song. What a great band. Flawless blend of country, pop, and A/C. Really miss these guys. Those harmonies! Fantastic. :)

  • omg when i was lil i love this song and i still love it and rock on dudes

  • Miss the 90's.. good times.

  • This song is from the 80s, the last worthwile decade. The 90s were pretty crappy, the present is damned horrific and the future will only be worse.

  • agree

  • completely agree

  • Hehe advocation of Polyamory! x3 Awesome.

  • An interesting song. We don't have to hurt one to love another ! I love, who I love, just because. Not for anything in return. Sometimes our own rules hurt us in the end. : )

  • YES i LIVE IN THE QUAD CITIES. AGAIN-WONDERFUL VIDEO

  • Wow-Restless Heart.!! It is this band that converted me from a die hard rock fan to a country music lover. This band caught my interest at a concert down at the band shelter at Leclaire Park in Davenport, Iowa. Charlie Daniel's band was there also. It had to be over 20 years ago. I bought their music the next day. Where are these guys. Their music is Fantastic!!!!

  • You from d-port, or were you just visiting the QC?

  • Yes, I live in the Quad Cities.

  • They still have concerts. just keep an ear out..

im only 25 and saw them last year i think??

surprised people that i even knew who they were, I sang along with every song.... that was a great night

  • They are part Country, Pop and Adult Contemporary. They have great emotion in all of their songs and their delivery is awesome. Great arrangement. I love these guys, they rock.

  • Just Saw Them In Concert With Colin Ray!!!

  • These guys broke up in the late 80s when the lead singer tried to go off on his own as a stand-alone artist. He never really got anywhere alone and now they're back together touring again on a limited schedule.

  • I ask myself why everytime I want to return the love people give me I can't. Even though I want to with all my F***** heart. As a desperado at twenty-four I am tired, just tired of not being able to share good with a woman. I hope I'm not cursed, lol. Today, Instead of getting all nice with the woman I like because she seems to like me. I got nervous and just said some nonsense that we both already knew. When instead I wanted to tell her. "Why does it have to be wrong or right."

  • what ever happened to these guys they were great

  • There's a girl in a video who looks exactly like my best friend. I miss my friends but I'll see them when school starts.

  • I saw them do this live, and was amazed at how they did the overlapping vocals so seamlessly.

  • The overlapping of vocals, also known as harmony, is such an awesome skill in vocal performance. To do it as good as this group or others like Wilson Phillips, Chicago, or Expose takes great talent from each vocalist. It also requires precise listening skills in order for your voice to blend perfectly with the lead vocalist.

You are right, this group is amazing!!!!

  • After you look up this video click on the "When She Cries." by this group and watch.

  • The girl in the video is 16 and looks just like my mom's best friend from high school.

  • I heard this song once in the 80s, at home in England, and never forgot it.

  • Oh wow, when I was a kid, I remember this song used to play every morning on my parents alarm clock radio, it always woke me up, cause I loved singing along to it.

  • who is the doll pictured at 2:22 in this video?...she is all through this video, and while there are some really great looking gals in this vid, she is extremely good looking...i've seen her somewhere else before.

  • I know man! She is SOO hot!!

I was thinking she was the hottest in the vid as well. She looks JUST like my big brother's friend's mom (except her mom is older than the girl in this vid xD).

    Hehehe... MILF.

  • All things have to line up at the same time otherwise someone will get hurt.

  • Great Song. But i have a question, is this group considered country because it's hard for me to tell because they sound country but pop at the same time?

  • the best music isnt confined to one genre and about this being country compared to todays country this is bluegrass

  • yes they are country, this was back when country was good music though, like alabama, etc. Not garbage like todays country. Although I'm sure this song got lots of pop radio play

  • Well said,

    I couldn't agree more.

For the most part today's country SUCKS!

There are a few exceptions. on occation

there might be a token traditional song like "When I Think About Cheatin" or

"I May Hate Myself In The Morning" but overall it SUCKS!

  • I remember when this group was huge, and listening to my dad complain about them being "too pop", but even so my brother and I wore out MANY cassettes of theirs! It's just all great stuff. I had to do alot of babysitting to keep myself in RH albums!

  • Nice to see the key-tar worked in the video!

  • Okay, the girl with her hair pulled back looks like Amy Grant...is it her?(The longest flash of her is at 2:40) I've wondered for a million years!!!

  • Thats not Amy Grant

  • Totally not Amy Grant. Sorry!

  • Tee-hee! Thanks, y'all! Now I know!! Still a kick ass song! <3

  • Yep, I think it's Amy Grant :)

  • A freakin great band. A freakin great song to have. Ive seen a few times. Everyone should see them a least once.

  • The lead singer is: Larry Stewart

He is the reason the band broke up years ago; he wanted to go "solo". The band has since rejoined each other. They are on myspace.

  • Lead singer looks like an older version of David Cook

  • Heard it on the radio and i was like "holy Crap i gotta look up this song!"

  • oh and i'd also like to state that every single one of these guys can sing great, in fact, only the keyboarder didnt acually sing by himself.

  • i just saw these guys at a concert yesterday, they look a little different than they did in this video. they were great though and sang along with Collin Raye.

  • I love this song. It is a great classic thanks for posting it just what i needed to hear this morning.Going to buy this cd tuesday.

  • I love this song so much!!!!!

  • Is that former pitcher Dennis Eckersly playing the drums?

  • saw them play live...it was awesome. i have one of their autographs..cant remember which one tho..

  • I love this song!
