  • i was laughing so hard at that little djinni. :)

  • I stayed up all night reading it in my mother's bathroom on the floor.

    It's that good.

  • I'm kind of nervous about this one becoming a movie if it does. It's such a good trilogy (that's an understatement) and it allows people to have their own individual outlook about the characters while still having a collective idea about the book. Movies have been ruined so easily in the past.. The books are amazing at being BOOKS adn while I like seeing my favorite books becoming movies... this trilogy just has so MUCH in it! Great books, by the way, if I didn't mention it :)

  • I, LOVE the Bartimaeus trilogy!!!

  • IF it turns into a movie I would be the first to watch!

  • he killed the pronunciation of Samarkand

    it made me cringe

  • "But dont take my word for it!"

That guys lips...wow! I want to kiss him

Most of this book is from the Djinn's point of view and Bartimeaus is a lot more interesting than Nathaniel. It's written better and there's a lot more going on. I like the footnotes. Some are funny, some are weird. Nathaniel's bits were kind of boring. He just reads and men are mean to him. His chapters are like any other teenager book, but skewed.

  • I felt the same way as some of you people about this book at first. My sister and teacher both told me the books were hilarious and really really good. I found the first one very boring at first. But then I started getting into it, and now I can't understand how I ever found it boring. Seriously, no matter how bored you may feel in the beginning, stick it out, it's worth it. =)

  • i read them all, really good. i thought the second was better than the 3rd though, especially the tomb raiding chapters.

  • gret bbbbooooooooooooook

  • im reading this book now

already bored of it gonna start a new one soon

  • I've both read and listened to Stroud's books, and there's something to be said for listening to them if the pace or language is bogging you down - the reader for the recorded versions is excellent!

  • @masterwindu1234 I listened to this audiobook and Simon Jones narration is spot on with Bartimaeus' sarcasm and wit. If you put this book down you missed out on a really great series. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook as it is excellent

  • i have this book, bought it a year ago and still havent read it

  • you really dont know what your missing! its so funny, you will love the third book to.
