Besides the logistics of using that word there is just the fact that it wasn't even really in the vocabulary of the Prophet pbuh and he counseled that people be very careful about using it lest they themselves be kuffar. Oh I understood the hadith - but comedy is not something "kufar;" it's something that is known to ALL peoples and cultures. You also cannot judge - you cannot say this or that is kufar, even if you're sure you're right. Why? Because you never know - only Allah truly knows and to be a true Muslim, a FULL Muslim, you must adhere to that. Being a Muslim is a process of development with "being a Muslim" your ultamite goal.
And, by the way, we Muslims need to be a little more critical of our CULTURES - not our religion, because we all, including me, have a LOT to work on, like interpreting things TO THE WORD without THINKING things through. If the Kufars are being peaceful, does it mean we should be terrorists? If they allow freedom of speech, religion, etc. should we allow Muslim governments to control the truth and media? which part of the hadith of the prophed(pbah) didn't you understand?..The prophed clearly states that whoever acts like the Kufars is one of them. Now, i'm not saying the guy in the video is kufar, but im saying he's acting like them. Making fun of his muslim brothers.

Because everyone needs a laugh, and comedy lightens things up a little bit. Don't tell me that a joke doesn't help you out every once in a while.

This comment is just scary. Do you not laugh, listen/tell joes, have a sense of humour? You're acting like it's haraam to enjoy jokes because kufars do it too, even though the prophet used to tell jokes! Of course they weren't hurtful, rude, or inappropraite. If kuffars drive cars, should we ride camels? Comedy isn't something just for the kufars, it's for ALL humans, Muslims, all INSAAN.

If a kufaar read your comments they would think in order to be a good muslims you aren't even allowed to laugh! This helps things because it is Islamically acceptable and shows kuffars that we are normal people too who like to love and laugh and that we aren't serious terrorists!

Calling non-Muslims kuffar doesn't really help further anything. Do you think it will make dawah easier?
Besides the logistics of using that word there is just the fact that it wasn't even really in the vocabulary of the Prophet pbuh and he counseled that people be very careful about using it lest they themselves be kuffar. You cannot see into anyone's heart - cannot read their intentions or beliefs...

Oh I understood the hadith - but comedy is not something "kufar;" it's something that is known to ALL peoples and cultures. You also cannot judge - you cannot say this or that is kufar, even if you're sure you're right. Why? Because you never know - only Allah truly knows and to be a true Muslim, a FULL Muslim, you must adhere to that. Being a Muslim is a process of development with "being a Muslim" your ultamite goal.

And, by the way, we Muslims need to be a little more critical of our CULTURES - not our religion, because we all, including me, have a LOT to work on, like interpreting things TO THE WORD without THINKING things through. And that's not a Muslim-specific problem, we see that in all religions. But we really have to think about that bro.

If the Kufars are being peaceful, does it mean we should be terrorists? If they allow freedom of speech, religion, etc. should we allow Muslim governments to control the truth and media? Should we not allow minorities in Muslim countries to live in peace without fear? Non-Muslims used to come to live in Muslim countries to escape persecution in Europe and other places and actually converted to Islam bu choice because they were impressed but now it's the other way around.

The Prophet pbuh and the sahaba has senses of humor, enjoyed laughter and even played jokes on one another. This is well documented. There is nothing in the Qur'an or Sunnah that says that to be Muslim one must be serious all the time and grim. As long as certain boundaries are respected levity and humor are fine.

Don't you know the hadith about how the prophet told a joke to this woman, and he used to laugh that you could see his teeth? He used to be smile at everyone he passed by, there's a hadith that smiling is charity. If Kufars suddenly started fasting during Ramadan does that mean we should stop since we can't act like them?

Brothers, here is where you have to use your intelect in sorting out those that claim to be Muslim only to shed a bad light upon us like MassLax is doing. We all know that Comedy isn't some sort a sin, why then take this imposter for what he says?
This guy is actually trying to say that Comedy isn't allowed in Islam, how ridiculous! It's not even a notion worth of a response other than "Stop lying about Islam and don't pretend to be a Muslim".

guy get a life...what a ignorant way of understanding Islam. The kuffars have lot of qood qualities, which we should learn from too. What the prophet said does not apply to everything. Read it in context.
