It looks like that this song has been doing the rounds for ages. I got back Thailand yesterday and almost everywhere i went this song was playing.
I was told the song is about a guy who has money, fast cars & women everything he could ever want but if he were to lose it, all he'd want to keep is his bob marley cds and his weed. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
That's right pretty much, although as I understand it, it's about his missus leaving him and him being happy for her to take all his commodities, but leave his bob marley cds. She doesn't leave them, he is therefore upset. The chorus "do do do do ter tam, tam mai tim tam gub chan dai" (or something similar), apparently translates as "how, how, how, how can she do this to me?"
I heard this first time in Khao lak, at the Happy Snapper Bar, last year! This year we wore at Kata Beach, but had to take the trip back to Happy Snapper to hear the house band play this fantastic song :D
