Really nice! A very well played song by guitar, and surprising Lalavox, as Kate's song is quite produced and this version is more simple and so more difficult to sing. I like it more than the original, and is my preferred song of all your collaborations. Congratulations.

Of course you may end up thinking I sound like Kate singing Joni songs. ;) But maybe I'll get lucky. :P ;) Or try out the MySpace page: /seaoftranquilityberlin - there are no Kate songs to be heard there; only original music and a Björk cover. You may still think I sound like Kate there too - but it wasn't deliberate. ;) There are other examples too, but I'll leave it at that for now. ;)

Mikey, listen to this 3 or 4 times in a row then go listen to Kate. Big difference. No attempt to imitate Kate on Lala's part..at least to these ears. I can think of all kinds of Kate-isms that she quite clearly avoids. (the kind of sound I try to make when singing kate for instance).

That being said, she doesn't try to completely change the character of the song either like a jazz singer might. Maybe that's what you were looking for.
