I love the History of this town! From the native tribes to the early settlers and on there is so much history around here and only a few people know about it in any depth!
the bars are leftover from the old days, many workers (hundreds at both mills)would live in town during the week and the bars were their eating places. The fast food of the time. At one time many Chinese worked in the mills so that's why so many Chinese Reatqurants as well.
716 center st was a bed and breakfast. My husband use to live in the back of the house in his "single" days and we went there to our honeymoon! I love that place ! I love Oregon. If my husband would of said.."Lets move to Oregon" ,I would of gone. We use to live in Seattle.

I lived in Oregon City for most of my life and you still cant get used to the smell of the paper mill.
