I may not be Autistic, but I agree with Max and alot of things. Paticularly how being honest is somehow improper? :P I do however have anxiety and depression, so I can relate to Max at that extent.

This movie is a fucking masterpiece. The animation is perfect and there's an excellent stasis between comedy and tragedy. As an aspie I found this movie a very accurate portrayal of the aspie mindset and I, like Max, cringe at Asperger's syndrome being called a "disability". Also I cried at the end. In conclusion, for those of you who haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it.

What's up with people finding this movie depressing? I think it's just beautiful. Two people building a true friendship. Ofc it has it's dark parts, but I mostly find these whimsical, as the movie tells often tells them in a funny way. I absolutely recommend this movie, one of the better I've seen in my life. :) Mary and Max are two extraordinary people you should be acquainted with!

When I first started to look in the beginning of this movie, I thought it was just like the other random bad movies that exist today. And in the end, my eyes were red and it felt like I have been crying my blood. This movie is much better and more logical than other movies that exist today.<3

@InfernoSnipes I agree with you, yes, it is a very emotional film. And about the tears? It's just the fact that brown was the colour scheme for Australia, so brown was used as much as possible. Plus, you might not know this, but all the water in this movie was actually made from lubricant!

My son and I watched this last night. It was incredibly good. It was startling to see the Twin Towers (as it was just being built!). We totally cried at the end. And I was surprised to see who did the voices (Toni Collette, a favorite of mine...then Eric Bana and Phillip Seymour). We were so impressed by the detail of the animation. It is definitely better than most things we see right now. Would love to see more!

I almost bawled my eyes out watching this. Knowing people with Aspergers, and others with depression, this film spoke to me. It also shows how much effect one could have on another person's life. The ending was so touching (I won't spoil it) But I would definitely recommend watching this.
