The part where it says: 'Nicholas ordered his troops and the Cossacks to brutally suppress the peaceful demonstrators. A massacre followed.'
should actually read:
'Nicholas' troops and loyal Cossacks were ordered to brutally suppress the peaceful demonstrators. However, they were not ordered by Nicholas himself.'
Happy?!?!? Whether you like it or not, Nicholas was responsible for those troops, therefore, he loses respect and the kind nicknames, even though he did not order it
You are actually wrong in your condemnation of Nicholas II. He was not even at the Winter Palace at the time of the Protest, and he did not order the brutal attack on the people. Although Nicholas was not a good Tsar - he stated as much himself - and greatly ineffectual, he was not responsible for this massacre.
this is such a horrible massacre. I'm studying russian revolution at the moment. only thing i'd say thats wrong with this is that you said Nicholas II ordered the attack, when actually he wasn't even in that city at the time.
Yeah of course you can, just make sure you point out Nicholas wasn't actually at the palace at the time and he didn't really directly order the cossacks and troops to attack
why does my countrys history have to be so bloody sometimes.

Nicholas didnt order the killings, he was away from the Palace and in the confusion his troops fired and charged, there was no order from the Tsar

He was responsible for the Bloody Sunday

@littlenemo1 Plus they are still the troops responsibility so therefore, he is in part to be criticised.
