Anyone who has access to the BBC must watch The World Against Apartheid. The episode tonight was about Steve Biko and when this music was finally used, right at the end, after the scenes at Biko's funeral, the tears were pouring down my face so that I could hardly see.
The programme was on BBC4 and it and the rest in the series will be available on iplayer for a while. There are two more to go I think. Please please go watch.
@majmunko23 hey bro this is a free country. Im allowed to say that peter frampton supported the stupidest group of people in the world and that niggers should still be slaves if I want to. If I had the chance, I'd stab the shit outta those coons
amazing film amazing story; it was so hard to be black people in that place, on that moment, Biko was an unforgetable great man who has (as many others) ,walked the first steps to the justice and equality. But to be a white man supporting black people rights as Donald Woods did, was so dangerous too, I think racist hate them even more...Great men...
I saw Cry Freedom last night for the first time. Knowing how bad Apartheid was was bad enough. Seeing its portrayal in this film was staggeringly painful. Though it has "ended" I have to wonder where the world was during these most troubling times for South Africa. I also have to ask the question — WTF was wrong with the whites in S.A.? There seemed an almost pleasure in the way they killed. I am disgusted beyond words! Thank you Steve Biko! You changed the world.
September 12, 1977 - On this 34th anniversary of your death we are still thinking of you Stephen Biko and the outcry your death brought to South Africa from across the world.

@claryworld1 In 1994, the was the Truth and Reconciliation Committee under the new Mandela govt. People who committed crimes just had to come and confess their crimes and they received amnesty. This was so that SA could move forward and not be caught in the past.

This is my favorite version of the song, not to mention a unique video, Peter always knew what he was doing when it came to his message and videos.
