  • so ur saying everytime i see this kind of problmes i can choosee random numbers ?

  • Wont it be easier with 1 as QS 2 as SV 3 for PT and 4 for PR?

  • helpfull but can you go a tad bit faster in u next vids? :)

  • I just said SV = 2

  • Easier way: Make a simle observation, QS=1;QV=3; PT =3; PR =4; from that we have: Area of Tri. PST= 2*3/2=3; and Area of Tri. PQR= 3*4/2=6; then, 3/6=1/2 and your done. You must make smart observations instead of working too hard. On practice exams find the best ways to do each problem, there is always a fast way. Nice vid though.

  • in the beginning, when u cross multiply, is the 3/4 supposed to be one number?? bcuz if not, wouldnt u multiply the top by 4 and the bottom by 3??

  • Sorry yo no comprendo... Can you explain your question again? The problem gives us PT/PR=3/4. I just bring the PR to the other side...

  • hahah i like your methods man! thanks for your vids

  • is it still gonna work if i just plug in the number that they gave and try to work it out?

  • try and find out! :]

  • good point, spinningbirdkick1! you could have just substituted in the numbers in the numerator and denominator of the given ratios. but to demonstrate the technique clearly, i wanted to sub in other numbers.

  • Or you can save 3 mins of problem solving, not use substitutions, and use the proportions as the numbers themselves
