  • I was expecting a 4bt to but I say the 6 I was like a shit....where is the turbo?

  • its still a 6cyl.lol

  • such a thing of beauty ... they should have sent a poet

  • I love it man. Very nice job. I was hoping to do a 4bt engine swap in my 98 ranger but a 6bt would be better haha

  • is this the ranger from diesel power mag?

  • what im the sam hell is a 4bt

  • @ford7700duncan 4 cylinder cummins motor, a 3.9 liter

  • pretty tight fit but good work it looks good!

  • i was expecting a 4bt... not a 6!!! what did you do for suspension? obviously the stock set up would have been bottom out just sitting.

  • I am serious when I ask, how much would you charge to do the same swap in mine?

  • watch this daddy my Ranger can pull a house

  • Wow! I thought for sure that would have a 4bta in it and then i seen the two extra cylinders! That's a 5.9 in a ranger! That's like that red F-150 i seen in the diesel world magazine with the N14. You diesel guys are nuts!

  • ima import guy a honda guy to be specific but this is so fucking cool!

  • the truck is so sexy it gives me a boner! lol

  • holy shit man! to stuff a 6 cylinder cummins in a ranger is a HUGE accomplishment, let alone to make it appear stock!! i dont care what the haters say man NICE TRUCK AND GREAT JOB

  • you need to use steel braded lines on all of your hoses . Other then that nice truck

  • @TheBULLY429 why?

  • how much lol i WANT

  • do a 0-60 me and my dad want to do this i have a ford ranger but im not gonna use my ford ranger we will probley buy a different ford ranger

  • tis sick!

  • thats sick. was it hard to fit that thing in there? why not put the 4bt in it instead?

  • Nice garden hose.

  • Damn that is cool. Bet it took some work to stuff that 5.9 in there. That is a 5.9 isn't it?

  • How hard was it to get the engine in the truck?

  • Is it good in cornering with that heavy load all up over the front weel?

  • So I noticed you didn't have a hydraboost brake setup. How are you getting enough enough vacuum to the booster, since diesels create little to no vacuum at any speed? I know that some cummins engines came with vacuum pumps. But is that sufficient to pull the proper vacuum? Any help or response would be wonderfully helpful as I'm planning to swap a 4BT into my truck, and I am having concerns about my brakes. Very, Very clean swap.

  • @DirtyRam50 the cummins has a vacuum pump infront of the power steering!!

  • @hashy3 Even 4bt engines? Its probably a stupid question because there are a bunch of other 4bt powered trucks on youtube, but I need as much info as possible if I'm going to make the swap. Thanks though.

  • was this truck in diesel power??? that is one clean swap.

  • that is an outstandingly clean swap. excellent work!!!

  • Beautiful job. The install looks factory. Now that I've seen this, makes me think Ford Rangers aren't totally worthless, after all.

  • 20mpg? thats it? I bet if you tinkered with it you culd get better. That kind of power in that small of a truck you should be able to get better than 20mpg. Love what you did to the truck though :D I would love to drop a Cummins in my 94.

  • so can you tell me how you did this and how much it cost. i would love to do this to my '01

  • I did not even notice the description until after I'd posted the comment. So it does have functioning A/C? Again that is one SWEET ride!

  • ONE SWEET TRUCK!!! How much horsepower at the rear wheels?

Also, I saw what looked like an air-conditioner compressor in there. Were you able to fit the A/C system under the hood with the Cummins, and does this truck have functioning A/C?

  • how much had to be changed and can i do this swap in my 99 f150

  • how hard was the swap and could i do it with my 99 f150

  • That is beautiful. Cummins engine in a tiny ranger truck. Who would do something like that? A nut probably. A big one. Cheers!

  • thats one purty engine compartment!!

  • u wanna sell it?

  • How much this whole thing cost ya? :P

  • was it hard to build/swap this considering the 6inch stretching?

  • amazing!!!

  • no f-ing way dude

  • what other mods did u have to do with axles and tranny?

    bad ass truck btw!!!

  • That actually fits rather nicely in there lol.

  • i just blew a nut in my pants!! i have a 93 ranger with the 4.0

  • that thing is sick!!!

  • I want the engine!

    -ac

  • That's one of the most craziest mods I've seen.

That had to take a lot of work, but there's some gear heads out there that can make anything happen.

  • holy shit!!! if that thing is stick i bet itll burn out in 3rd gear idling!!! that cummins probably makes up for like 1/4 the whole weight of that truck.

  • could i do a swap with a 2001 dodge ram 1500?

  • @01LiftedDodge1500 yuppers just depends how much work and money you plan to put forward

anythings possible just takes time and money

  • @01LiftedDodge1500 a cummins would fit no problem in 1500. i mean look it fits in a ranger lol

  • wow man I love your ranger

  • wow all that chrome but notice the lines look like a water hose ?

  • thats bad ass!

  • how much did it cost u to do that to ur truck

  • nice truck

  • the 6b is a 5.9

  • 8==========D

  • where's the shoehorn to get that beast inside that engine compartment ;)

  • how difficult was it to get the 5.9 in there like what all did you have to do ?

  • holy fuck!!!!!!!!! i was expecting a 4bt

  • same here, really nice engine though.

  • yeah, it is nicer than what i have

  • lol yeah im thinkin about droppin a 300 straight 6 into my 1991 2.3 5sp....i want to run split headers and twin t-1 turbs!!!should be a nice little sleeper when i get the money

  • that would be SICK!!!! and i didnt know that you could find a turbo kit for a 300!! lol, now i want one for my f100.

  • well i havent looked into any t kits for it..i wanted to do it all custom kinda one off you know wat i mean..but it should run like raped ape by the time im finished..i havent done much research on it yet cuz i havent even found a motor plus my 2.3 is still running strong..go figure...i mean it is a ford..lol..im gunna wait till it starts to go..in the meantime ill be findin and buildin the 300..:)

  • oh, i see, but it will still be BAD ASS!!! good luck with your build. :)

  • well yeah it should be...i hope to make around 500hp when its all said and done..should put me into the low 12 sec range since its so light:) im gunna have a hard time keeping it in a straight line once they spool up..oh well just more fun!!!thanx bro

  • lol, you are probably gonna have to put weight in the back to keep traction

  • oh yes for sure especially since i live in kentucky!!

  • lol

  • 20mpg thats it?? my 95 ram 3500 got 25mpg . that ranger should get 30+ mpg

  • this one's tuned to 680bhp, it's probably dumping a little more fuel in on a regular day than the workhorse/durability tune they leave the factory with...

  • get stacks

  • well as piontless as that was to do i have to say it may have been the coolest thing i have seen in a while

  • how much does the 5.9 cummins weigh?

  • so much better than argentinian-made 4cyl diesel rangers...

  • It was a Mazda diesel in the early 80's Rangers

  • like a boss

  • great work, looks very nice

  • I WANT!!!! i have a 1993 ford ranger with a 4.0 in it, this looks like it sure would be some fun!!!!!!

  • hey nice truck man I got a 1997 ranger ready

  • i got a 1996 got to luvem

  • that thing must be a tire fryer

  • where did you get all that chrome?

  • badass truck im gana drop a 5.9l cummins in my 93 f350 after i trash the 7.3l idi

  • Why? Why not 7.3 PS or 6.0?

  • nice job on the install and picking the right motor also. I love the custom exhaust manifold on it.

  • Useless? It drives, and it get pretty damn good gas milage. So tell me, how is it useless?

  • there is no use for all of that power. the truck isnt for towing i guess i never consiterd gas mileage

  • By the looks of the tires alone, i'd say he races it.

  • yeah i agree

  • @sorensen360

Hell, it gets better mileage than my 1991 4.0 did... lmao

  • @spunkyprep

20 seems kinda low honestly...... my Cummins F150 does bettter than that. may just be the tuning.

  • @EasternAggie Can you email me some info on how you put that 5.9 in your truck? I got a 95 F-150 and looking at doing the same thing. Like what you had to do to the front suspension, where you get conversion parts, hows it holding up? bubroesky@gmail.com

  • Did you use the same heat sheild tape on the bottome of the evaporator coil? Nice job on the install, very custom and very detailed.

  • Ah a 12 valve cummins in a ford ranger what will they think of next? Powerstroke maybe? How about a Detroit series 60 in a ranger

  • What's the 1/4 time on this beautiful setup?

  • yeah thats def badass... did you have to extend the frame to get that big bitch in there? and ps blow the doors off of some rice burners with their fart cannons for all of us ranger owners!

  • Nice. I was thinking what it would be like to do this to my Ranger. Now I know.

  • Oh I see now, When you said 6 cyl a V6 popped in my head. Now that I actually look at it, it looks like a straight.

  • Did you modify the front suspension because the weight of that engine will cause severe alignment issues. Otherwise it looks like a nice swap. Gotta love the power to weight ratio!

  • You put that kind of power into a ranger, becouse its badass.

Turns heads, and will embaress any tuner that pulls up beside it at a stop sign. A V-10 on a 2500 pound truck (probably over 3000 with this little "mod") is comparable more to a super car than a pickup truck. What is more badass that that? This is a wet dream to a ranger owner.

  • hey the cummins are 6 cylinders not v-10

  • I thought it sounded kinda high pitched... but still are you sure?

  • well all the ones i have seen are 6 but you can see the 6 glow plugs there arent ten

  • since when did a cummins have glow plugs? they have grid heaters

  • cummins arnt "V10' they r Inline 6 Diesel

  • not to sound like a total dick but why put that kind of power into a ford ranger. i mean a F-series i can see but a ranger? kind of weird. if that pulled up next to me i would be in for a surprise. but still a ranger.

  • How the hell does that pass inspections?!

The law is the only thing keeping me from putting a 351 in my ranger.

  • what they don't know can't hurt them

  • i like the way you think

  • I want that motor in MY truck! Tell you what, let's make a trade. You take my 300 I6 and put it in your Ranger and you give me your Cummins and put it in my truck. =)

  • Yeah, the front fenders have been streched I think.

  • yah they have or it would be more rounded towards the front

  • looks great how do you cool it rad support wont hold much radiator

  • Very clean swap, nice job!

  • also be awesome if u could get a vid of 0-60 inside cab =) or smokin a mustang/camaro/ big cummins/ challenger =)

  • How does the front end suspention like all that weight!!!

  • no problem on additional weight. just change front springs

  • hey is this a 12valve? im lookin into puttin 1 in my 97 f-250

  • it looks like it by the valve covers and pump

  • Long pipes to turbo lose energy, they should b as short as possible, as exhaust gas cools pressure drops.

I have seen power losses from fancy headers on turbos.

    good conversion though.

  • sick ass truck

  • Only 20mpg? I thought it would have been higher. Oh well. Great work!

  • ok ive seen ppl put 4bt in these but how the hell did u fit a 6bt in there lol

  • engine compartment was streached 6 inches

  • Custom made fenders I'm assuming?

  • its a stepside they all have rear fenders like that

  • Front fenders, tard.

  • no those are stock

  • ...The whole front end is longer.

  • no its not, its stock. ive worked on enough rangers,

  • Search 1998 Ranger on google images, look at the length of the fender from the back part of the wheel well to the door, then look at the length from the back of the wheel well to the door on this one. MUCH longer.

  • well if you knew so much why did you ask?

  • he asked if the fenders were custom made dumbass. he already knew it was longer

  • wow im surprised it was only 6 inches didnt look like any body work had been done to it..nice job......how hard do you think it would be to swap in a 4.9(300 straight 6) into a 91..cuz im goin to do that in a few months time....thanx bud

  • Think about it, if 5.9L fit that well, a 4.9L oughta be cake.

  • would love to have those headers!

  • DAMN!! how the hell did you stuff a cummins in that SMALL truck?

  • Sweet Conversion!!

  • seems like these get 20mpg no matter what truck, towing or not... LOL

  • was that foil over there?

  • what were all the mods you had to do? and how much total for all of it? it's SWEET! 5/5

  • currently a Ford AOD ( not good )

A new ATF 4L80E is on the bench being built

and a 3 disc lock up converter

  • Equal length header, 4 inch exhaust, overdrive 4L80E trans, extreme head work and custom air intake, 9 inch ford rear with Detroit locker, four link suspension,4 wheel disc breaks, 62mm turbo, and the engine compartment stretched 6 inches to make it fit.

  • that..is beautiful work, wish you had a video of it while it was being fixed up from beginning to finish, I would love to see how you did it

  • yOU SHOULD PUT THAT TRUCK IN DIESEL POWER MAGAZINE. its so awesome. what tranny is in it?

  • You really Crammed that 5.9 in there... lol

  • Wow, all I can say is WELL DONE!!! I'll bet that is an absolute RIOT to drive! If the Ford Lightening is a F-150 with a supercharged V8, your rig must be called like the Ford Neutron Bomb or something....

  • take that camera and get a friend and go for a ride i think i speak for more than myself when i say i want see it in action

  • keep an eye out, will have a serious action video for you in a couple of days.

  • how hard was it to mount? im starting a project up putting a 3.9 liter cummins turbocharged into a ranger and wondering how difficult it was to mount.

  • That is an amazingly clean swap. How severely was the firewall modified, if at all?

  • Firewall was not touched.

Truck was cut in half in engine compartment and stretched 6 inches.

  • whoa dude..i'm 16, haven't gotten a chance to learn about trucks that much, chill

i'm not as dumb as you think

  • Be nice ladies... Dont want a cat fight.

  • Sweet! Is that a Common Rail engine (03-07)? If it is, it's awesome.

  • 89 cummins with the p pump

  • i love your truck i would love to c the thing goin down the road though

  • wow..never thought someone would do that...not only throw a big ass engine in a small truck but throw a Dodge ingine in a Ford truck..looks really cool five stars

  • you apparently know nothing about diesels in general, so your statement makes you look incredibly fucking stupid. aslo i would prefer to see these kept in dodges but to each thier own, at least hes using the rite engine in this

  • Ford commercial trucks have always been available with a Cummins. Cummins is not necessarily a Dodge engine.

  • what? wow never knew that,..so commercial dodge trucks are available with Lariat engines?

  • wtf are you talkin about? lariat engine? what the hell? lariat is an interior package
