Why use anything at all? Tools are tools, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. I chose to use this particular tool for this particular piece.

WHAT?? A mouse? You're really painting with a mouse. I can't believe it. Painting with a mouse is painful. I hope you can get a tablet soon. I love mine, it's the most wonderful tool. And if you could achieve this expertise without the tablet, you surely will do amazing things with it.

I replayed a Painter script that had recorded what I did then recorded what was happening on screen with HyperCam I think, a couple of screen grabs from photoshop, then just put it together in Windows Movie Maker.

Wasn't really keeping track of time taken. The actual line drawing wasn't that long, the painting I spread out over a couple of days between work, same with the editing.

Glad you think it's cool. I learnt to draw from, well it's an accumulation of a lot of things... everything from drawing in front of cartoons as a kid to studying other artist's work, learning from books, schools, university, advice from other pros, life... and drawing, drawing, drawing.
