Reminds me of my mothers passing. When i hear this music at her grave, i see through life, and imagine the univers and all my good memories. And remind myself, there is things much bigger than me.
I clicked like and you've been added to my favorites. It was the music I was responding to more than anything. This is an Eno ambient release I've neglected a bit and you reminded me how great it is. The video is nice and relaxing but, I think imagery of life and nature would be more fitting for this particular style and sound but, that's just my opinion. Anybody who loves Harold Budd should check the albums he did with Robin Guthrie from The Cocteau Twins, they are just as beautiful as this.
I’m riding a bike. Its early morning and the air is crisp, the breath that escapes me is seen then unseen at a blink of an eye. I don’t know where I’m going and I don’t even care. My path is as unknown as the world around me. I’m here and glad to be awake.
Try to stop thinking about your own little bubble. Stop contemplating about all of your worries, concerns, and troubles. Try and see the big picture. Try and realize everything that is going on out there. Your life is one of billions, and we all exist on this little speck in the universe. Instead of dwelling on your past, and all the things you wish you had done differently, and the problems you currently face, think about how you can make a positive and significant difference in this world.
@raphdub - I have had this album for over 2 decades, and I have to say, until your fine work, there was no better imagery than the images in my head to go along with the finest take on a C Major Seventh ever played.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then this creation forms an eye the size of earth itself - which happens to coincide with the image which most haunts me when listening to this.... Long may it live in our imaginations and dreams!
Yes, there is a hint of melancholy to this track. I've been listening to this recording for over two decades now. It never gets old. Great visuals, also.
I used to ( and still do ) listen to this when driving on the backroads of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Sometimes I would stop the car but leave the music on with sweeping vistas of the mountains and forests all around. If there was ever bliss its the sound of this piece of music combined with being so connected with such natural and dramatic beauty with nobody else around.
Even more compelling is the above scenario at night with the stars. Powerful.
quite incredible piece of music! I've had it on repeat while looking at many other sites online--Wild thing is it fit so many things I was viewing- perfect background music--thanks B.E.
How can one DISLIKE this video? This song is sad, but beautiful at the same time. It makes me think of an animation in which a love story between two childhood friends (who become a couple, obviously) that gets broken up by one of them dying of a disease, only drawn in a crayon-type style. The 13 people who disliked this video must have no souls or something.
It is 1981. I pull up to the edge of a cliff in the Marin Headlands in my green BMW 3.0cs, fog blowing stiffly across me. I step out of the car, put a pistol to my temple, but don't shoot. That is this music to me.
@alltoohuman17 A few days ago I read that matter cannot be created, however is only in our minds that things can be created, therefore aint we living on someone else "mind" ?
this song is the soundtrack to the oceans the deserts the jungles of earth it is space and time it represents the beautiful side of things what humanity really is no violence just endless time of ambient dream if the world would burn it would be okay because we were ounce in heaven that is earth life is better with no human just music that plays over nature forever

If you have trouble figuring out how to play this somniferous piece it is probably due to your brain slipping into Alph wave patterns while it plays. Seriously people, if this is your favorite piece of music you really need some excitement in your life!
This stands as a singular item within my CD collection and along with The Pearl, an item I use for meditation. Absolutely, without question, a classic, and if I had the means, I'd stop the flow of human society & envelop it within this music.
If anyone knows the guy who broadcast the "Deep Sea Show" on 3RRR during the mid 80's, can you please thank him for playing this track one night almost 25 years ago. I was sent out with a tune in my head and now I'm back to tell you what I've found.
I imagine in this song, Eno as a giant spatula, flipping and flipping those pancakes of sound. The maple syrup spills over my heart and my veins are clogged with the buttery synthetic textures. I laugh as I see all of the pretenders who comment on this song, who cannot understand the glorious flapjack majesty of it all.
I love pancakes. Your use of a beautiful epicurean metaphor to describe this ethereal music is just so appropriate. I mainly listen to Eno and others like him
for medicinal purposes. It calms the noise in my head and I can stand the onslaught of mayhem this world brings to an innocent bystander at large.
I think I would like some glorious flapjack right now.
@californiamike2003 Flapjack majesty indeed! I love this song. There's also a light chicken mcnugget I hear in the background as well. But you gotta listen for it.

There is a place suspended in time, where the majesty of the Eternal dwells.
No one reflects that timeless space of the Eternal better in music than Eno.
The Plateau of Mirror is an incredible masterstroke of passage to that tender realm.
It is a supurb rendition, of the soft effervescence of enlightened playing, that captivates the soul, and transforms the vicereal into the ethereal.
How poignant and infussive this work is!
