  • The Mormons are wasting their time in Jamaica. Jamaica is a very spiritual place and filled with super churches. It just shows the LDS ignorance and really, disregard of other faiths and beliefs. They will lie to get you to join! They mostly lie by omission. It is what they DON'T tell you that is so wrong. Definitely a cult and there are nice people in that cult...Jonestown had nice people who enjoyed purple Cool-Aid drinks. Beware Jamaicans!

  • yea mon the video wicked music love it

  • I have been in Jamaica this year, but i didnt go to Kingston because people say that its dangerous, is that true or the next time i went to Jamaica i can go to Kingston by my self? It was the first place i want to know and i stayed a little sad. The rest of jamaica its marvellous. Sorry my English is poor !!???

  • Ah yeah you can go to Kingston. Im from Kingston and its a cool place, one of my favorite parishes . Just don't worry yourself and relax you will be okay. Have fun next time you go n don't forget to go to Dunns River Falls okay! :-). P.S. Dunns River is not in Kingston lol its in Ochi.Later!

  • Thanks for the information.

When i was in Jamaica i did go to Dunns River Falls but i failed Reach Falls, one of the places i wanted to see. Anyway Jamaica its beautiful, the place where Bob Marley was born, the Blue Lagon, Summerset falls, etc... Next time i will certainly go to Kingston and other places.

  • Not that dangerous

  • Its too short I am from Barbican Road and only the last part of the film I reconize. Thanks it brings back memory for the days as a kid I use to talk to Barbican Super market

  • I love off dis video neva remove it please

  • utubnxxx's last comment has been removed because of rudeness.

Express yourself, but don't insult others.

  • @RiaBacon what kind of ragga is dis?

  • Funny thing, I was An LDS missionary when then video was shot. I walk these streets as well as many others, Jamaica is my home I love the People and country, In fact I even took my wife there on our honeymoon and have will be heading back soon. Mormons do more then preach, They provide food and service to the people, I taught reading classes and helped to rebuild after a hurricane. we teach the importance of the family, every country needs that not just jamaica.... BLESS UP JAMAICA,

  • My Husband also served his mission in Jamaica. He still talks of it 18 years later. It was the best 2 years of his life. God Bless Jamaica, God Bless America.

  • Mormons, Jehovahs Witnesses they all have nice suits and nice cars. I don't trust them. I think it's like those cults . Once they get someone hooked who knows what they do with them! I don't car if one of them is your brother. They're a fecking pain . Could be something to do with the CIA. Do they ever look happy? No they look like they mean business. Spying for the "War on Terror".There is something very sinister about them. OFF!!

  • Do you even know any M0RM0NS personally? If you did, then you wouldn't think such things about them.

  • No I don't and I don't want to. I don't like strangers coming knocking on my door. I think people have a right to choose what they want to believe and not have it forced upon them and I certainly don't want to have anything to do with Jehovahs whether I know what they're like or not. That's my right to be free to live my life how I want and I'm quite happy without someone interferring thankyou.

  • L0L. Okayy. Hope you enjoy your narrow minded outlook on others you obviously know nothing about besides what you've heard.

And you're right. You do have a choice.

LDS missionaries don't F0RCE it upon you, it's your choice too accept their lessons or not.

  • thanks for that. i'm from off old hope road. and me and my day used to drive that way all the time to go to august town.

  • Those are Mormons. and this video is of the Barbrican area - a hood surrounded by middle class and upper class communities.

  • big chune bom bom bom

  • why do you think the mormons are brave? It is because they are in Kingston?

  • the mormons are brave lol

  • No one never troubles the mormons they pass my ouse like evryday and they pass alot of ghetto areas.

  • i know dat raod ...thats the raod when u comin from the air port that place is a lil ghetto area

  • i think those are the same mormons that spoke to me when i was there...lol

  • actually, that's roman catholics based at the vatican. mormons are based in utah.

  • I LIKE THIS VIEDOE ALOT the short 3mins captures only a small amount of jamaicas beauty and daily life and its also enjoyable because the track is'nt another bob marley track how great he is but its nice 2 hear from sum of the reggea artists not many ppl no about

  • damn i always wanted to go 2 jamaica and smoke some of the best herb. but yea those are mormons they have them here in pr also and they mad anoyin

  • just got back from kingston, the people there are golden. not a speck of disrespect, never had a hard time from anyone. its so screwed up though. saw things that made my jaw drop. Teaching at an elementry school near trenchtown i spent more time breaking up gang beatings and even a knife fight than i did teching. its so sad

  • Amuru07...tell them again. I am a foreigner and when I go down I go to some of the roughest areas....NEVER EVER HAVE I HAD A REASON TO BE WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY!!

Jamaican people treat you with respect an love and are truly proud to have you in their country.

  • They are foreigners (Mormons)...they come to Jamaica to spread their religion...don't be sayin things like that...bout how foreigners can't walk like that in JA...don't paint a negative picture of the island to the world...its so funny that its the people thats been there the least and no so little that say the most....

  • dis person racist, look how much white ppl in JA

  • is this driving towards or away from norman manley airport?

  • Neither. It's on Barbican Road, which runs east-west in northern (uptown) Kingston.

  • so what if dey white , why do ya judge them based on their color of skin

    you are a foolish person

  • those white people are also in jamaica...

    lol

    Jehova's Witness

  • they're there just to buy WEED

  • well you make it seem like us as black people are mashing up the country,

its not my fault that you stuggled while living in jamaica, almost every jamaican experinced hard times. I'm not from up town i have family living there i'm from country so dont judge me!!!

  • well i would have never guessed, u sound like a lil prick brit with ur nose in the sky. U more-so should have known that obviously if u come @ some1 like how u did, (callin me a *punk ass*) that i would have something to say about it. JUDGE...u semm to throw that word around quite often. Now u judged my "little punk ass" not even knowin what YOU urself was talkin about. I'm just shocked to be honest, peeps there usually have manners. (where u claim to cum from) I LOVE U STILL. honestly

  • they way you basically said it make it seems as if us as black people are mashing up jamaica, yow mi know some theifing white jamaicand and some fraudster chinese jamaica. cool still. lol

  • No badmouthing please. Abusive comments will be removed, so cool it.

  • I live in New York City. I went to Ocho Rios, Jamaica this past summer and Montego Bay the year before. I saw two white men just like that walking on the street in Ocho Rios. I didn't know what they were. I thaught they were army guys or something like that. I didn't know they were a religion group.

  • "Left-handed American cars" LOL

Most cars in Jamaica are Japanese, where they also drive on the left.

  • left handed! those cars all go on left. do they make left handed american cars?

  • why should they get robbed?!? ok, they look gay, and i bet the big lady told them the wrong direction.. XD but i've been to kingston a lot of times and i'm white, ppl just stare and try to tric you on everything but it's not dangerous if u r not going into the slums! i've been oin to passa passa, weddy weddy, dutty fridaze, club asylum, nothing never happend. and we walked a lot.

  • ohh my gosh two two white boys on that video walkin down the streets in jamaica, dont they get robbed or killed or sumthin lol

  • Nah they wont get robbed, Plus this was shot "uptown" one of the "good" parts of Jamaica.....alota chinese, persians, indians,syrians...........

  • so basically you are saying because lot of white, chinese live up down?

  • yeah, thats exactly what i'm sayin.

  • Very nice video. May Jamaica prosper!

  • oh my goodness, i know that road. i used to drive on it on my way from school. but now i only drive on it when i'm coming from burger king. lolz

  • LOL! I'm in this same traffic everyday!! hilarious really. an that pillow man annoys the hell out of me... alot less now since he chopped off the dreads :S (an i not sayin JA doesnt need divine interventions, but almost all J'cans think they're Christians, so u not really converting anybody :) )

  • nice video ... what is the name of this song??

  • Garnet Silk....complaint

  • I recognize the traffic all too well! I'm not mormon but I am a missionary doing work in Jamaica. You obviously think missionaries are useless in Jamaica but a closer look at the crime rate tells a much different story. 2nd highest murder rate in the world? Some of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the Caribbean? Yeah, you're right, they're fine as they are.

  • I never said things were fine. I will say that missionaries will not make things better, unless they can offer small business development or conflict resolution training, or micro-credit financing, for example. Jamaicans have had religion rammed down their throats for generations and the result is as you describe: senseless murders and slackness. So let's try easing back on the bible and doing something more concrete.

    ***Jobs not "Job" (16:2)***

  • "They tell me of the pie up in the sky,

Waiting for me, when I die.

But between the day I'm born and when I die,

They never seem to hear even your cry."

    - Jimmy Cliff (nuff respek!)

  • JAMAICA does have a lot churces,, you would expect little more respect for human life,, the Rsatafarian faith also preaches peace and love towards bredrin and sistrin,, the murder rate in Jamaica is just to high,, I heard about a killing last year of an elderly couple in their 70"s it was very sad reading that story. Somthing has to change.

  • if you really think that the one and only reason for murders is religion - it's time to think about soul asylum my friend... I understand that it's very simple to find a scapegoat, but that won't fix situation in Jamaica, and you know it.

  • They need education and enough MONEY to have a decent living, not another religion. Will religion reduce the murder rate?? I don't know, but I can say that religion (wars in the name of, inquisitions, etc.) has been responsible for plenty of deaths on it's own. "... let's try .... doing something more concrete."

  • Hi, I am from Florida. Very cool video. Better looking palm trees than what we have in Florida.

  • this guy just comes talking about palm trees lolz

  • big up to the pillow man...

  • The video overall was dope. I liked the missionary part the best, bringing back old memories...

  • The missionary with glasses, that's me. Yeah, a 'Mormon'. I love jamaica. This video brings back memories.

  • I remember mormons in jamaica during the 70s with your white shirts now I see you guys here in Brooklyn in the black community,, I don't think black people need any more preaching too, the damage has already been done,, where very much passive towards other's, (races) and very angry towards each other.

  • like this, brings back memories, but the mormons??? nothings change I guess Jamdown here I come in 4 days!!

  • HAHA I rem. growin up in Guyana n dem mormon men ah come knock knock at yuh gate and thing. lARWD!Oh n in terms of traffic, yes it's horrible in Kingston. Esp. if it's raining,or de last/first day of the month and that happens to fall on a friday !Deh in problems deh!

  • the mormons bother u in jamaica too??? lol

  • Dis is da city imagine da country dem need fi sho a video of da country, not da city, dey got all da yankee dem a tink sey jamaica is perfect

  • i come from ja too and i what all the traffic izs like

  • isn't this garnet silk?

  • yeah

  • This vid brought back so many memories from happy holidays spent in Jamaica... I've been stuck in traffic there and not giving a damn about it... Helshire Beach - where we spent an idealic day getting sunburnt, eating red snapper and washing it down with Red Stripe and Appletons Special... then finishing the day off at 'Lookout' - pure bliss

  • I go to Kingston a lot. It's like a second home to me. Fecking mormons. They're everywhere. Clearly, the Mormon 'Church' has reinvented itself in terms of what their founder, Joseph Smith, believed about the black race. I don't know how they have the balls to go and preach to Jamaicans.

  • lol@ tempizzo da comment deh funny fi real a long time him deh deh lmao dwl

  • ahhh ya...much thanks...

I remember Barbican quite well...and near the beginning of the vid ya see a blue minivan turn onto Barbican off of Liguanea Ave.......I lived on a street just down from there.

This was the area I lived in, and I have no video of it

    Brings back memories ;)

  • lol wanna see traffic try all spanish town or portmore once sat in traffic fo 2 hours

  • Cool video. It's nice to see a video on Jamaica that doesn't involve a resort or rick's cafe. We went last april and are planning on going back. Beautiful country with beautiful people.

  • LOL at the Mormon Spying comment.

  • Yea Mormons have been in JA for years. They even incorporated a diff. tactic having pairs of black and white elders go around. The song is Garnet Silk's.

  • YES MORMONS THERE TOO!

  • What's the name of the song?

  • yo bredrin cool vid dis is tru original classic vid always memba dis one add more & di gardener one did wicked too lol

  • Hey! One of those missionaries (The one with the glasses) is my brother! What a small world. By the way- we mormons are not spies for the Vatican. We have no ties to the Pope. I like the song, too!

  • yeah? I got back like 7 months ago, but I can't tell who that one is. I know the other one for sure.

  • bomboclaat! lol..not a ting change,da bredda deh still a sell pillow a roadside..jah kno star..him step up still, bout 3 him usually hav, mussi sell dem off from day.

  • fa real...lol:-D

  • That´s in Barbican VERY UPTOWN.and in kgn.. every uptown is beside a poor community... where sometimes the most traffic is! I personally am tired of seeing the One-love-no-problem image marketed to tourists. Pffft. Makes us look like simple, tree climbing idiots. This is a vid of traffic in Jamaica through one person´s eyes. This is what they see.I dont hear any audio/ commentary apart from that Garnet Silk song.

  • mi affi other version of tis song..any one know who song tis one deh?

  • Jah Rasta Fari. Big up all chiney black white n dem mix up jamicanz cuz we all live az 1 in a di same country. Me ave white rasta man fren deya forin

  • I agree, whats whith the missionary boys?Seen them many times in jamaica,do they think they gonna change jamicans religion & beliefs? I do like the footage however i am not complaing.

  • You're right to complain, tvshark. I'm the first to big up the beauty of Jamaica. This clip was just me being bored in rush hour traffic, and hey, you got to admit that traffic is bad on Barbican, and that it is not something people usually think of when they think of Jamaica.

I promise I'll put up something prettier soon.

And it won't be fat white people on the beach.

  • cool nuh man! thanks for that. Im in the uk and some people still think we live shacks. and they think every black person is from africa and are starving, thats why are we are in england and we should be greatful and bow down to them. Some think jamaica is in africa. Had to show some people some picture of jamaica, the couldnt believe. So please. show the bit of jamaica over seas media wont show.

  • Why when people film in jamaica they alway film the that which is not the best or prettiest? Im sure people would like to see or sub-urbs (portmore, new kingston, ironshore coral gardens, bogue vilage bogue hieghts, catherine hall, ect.)

I tired of seeing rubbish and shack. that not how we live!

  • I agree!

  • actually its uptown, that look like barbican at the foot of jacks hill. dat is up town rich man ends near by i use to live there.

  • Wow what a treat for me... like a cab ride downtown Kingston! Awesome!

  • weh di white ppl cumm frumm...im not racsist but hey its JAMIaCA

  • I mean that it is a redundant action because what you bring (in this case, Christianity) already exists in the new place in abundance.

  • I didnt get this bit - 'White missionaries in Jamaica is like taking coal to Newcastle or selling snow to the Inuit'.
