When i was in Jamaica i did go to Dunns River Falls but i failed Reach Falls, one of the places i wanted to see. Anyway Jamaica its beautiful, the place where Bob Marley was born, the Blue Lagon, Summerset falls, etc... Next time i will certainly go to Kingston and other places.

I live in New York City. I went to Ocho Rios, Jamaica this past summer and Montego Bay the year before. I saw two white men just like that walking on the street in Ocho Rios. You obviously think missionaries are useless in Jamaica but a closer look at the crime rate tells a much different story. 2nd highest murder rate in the world? Some of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the Caribbean? Yeah, you're right, they're fine as they are.
I never said things were fine. I will say that missionaries will not make things better, unless they can offer small business development or conflict resolution training, or micro-credit financing, for example. Jamaicans have had religion rammed down their throats for generations and the result is as you describe: senseless murders and slackness. So let's try easing back on the bible and doing something more concrete.
JAMAICA does have a lot churces,, you would expect little more respect for human life,, the Rsatafarian faith also preaches peace and love towards bredrin and sistrin,, the murder rate in Jamaica is just to high,, I heard about a killing last year of an elderly couple in their 70"s it was very sad reading that story. Somthing has to change.

I live in New York City. I went to Ocho Rios, Jamaica this past summer and Montego Bay the year before. I saw two white men just like that walking on the street in Ocho Rios. I didn't know what they were. I thaught they were army guys or something like that. I didn't know they were a religion group.

I recognize the traffic all too well! I'm not mormon but I am a missionary doing work in Jamaica. You obviously think missionaries are useless in Jamaica but a closer look at the crime rate tells a much different story. 2nd highest murder rate in the world? Some of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the Caribbean? Yeah, you're right, they're fine as they are.

I never said things were fine. I will say that missionaries will not make things better, unless they can offer small business development or conflict resolution training, or micro-credit financing, for example. Jamaicans have had religion rammed down their throats for generations and the result is as you describe: senseless murders and slackness. So let's try easing back on the bible and doing something more concrete.

JAMAICA does have a lot churces,, you would expect little more respect for human life,, the Rsatafarian faith also preaches peace and love towards bredrin and sistrin,, the murder rate in Jamaica is just to high,, I heard about a killing last year of an elderly couple in their 70"s it was very sad reading that story. Somthing has to change.

They need education and enough MONEY to have a decent living, not another religion. Will religion reduce the murder rate?? I don't know, but I can say that religion (wars in the name of, inquisitions, etc.) has been responsible for plenty of deaths on it's own. "... let's try .... doing something more concrete."

This vid brought back so many memories from happy holidays spent in Jamaica... I've been stuck in traffic there and not giving a damn about it... Helshire Beach - where we spent an idealic day getting sunburnt, eating red snapper and washing it down with Red Stripe and Appletons Special... then finishing the day off at 'Lookout' - pure bliss

I go to Kingston a lot. It's like a second home to me. Fecking mormons. They're everywhere. Clearly, the Mormon 'Church' has reinvented itself in terms of what their founder, Joseph Smith, believed about the black race. I don't know how they have the balls to go and preach to Jamaicans.

I remember Barbican quite well...and near the beginning of the vid ya see a blue minivan turn onto Barbican off of Liguanea Ave.......I lived on a street just down from there.

That´s in Barbican VERY UPTOWN.and in kgn.. every uptown is beside a poor community... where sometimes the most traffic is! I personally am tired of seeing the One-love-no-problem image marketed to tourists. Pffft. Makes us look like simple, tree climbing idiots. This is a vid of traffic in Jamaica through one person´s eyes. This is what they see.I dont hear any audio/ commentary apart from that Garnet Silk song.

You're right to complain, tvshark. I'm the first to big up the beauty of Jamaica. This clip was just me being bored in rush hour traffic, and hey, you got to admit that traffic is bad on Barbican, and that it is not something people usually think of when they think of Jamaica.
I promise I'll put up something prettier soon.
And it won't be fat white people on the beach.
