Jagoda is from Sarajevo, but she lives in the US (yes, she is alive and well and composing new songs in Ladino). This song has become so popular that everyone is singing it, and now some people think it has been around longer than it actually has.

@Inventor810 Its NOT NEW you knobhead! Its over 500 years! Sephardic tradition spans back at least a millenia, but we have existed in exile/diaspora for over 500 years (since 1492). This song is part of that tradition.
