the best thing from In Por Ylem is the shard is fairly new ( 5 months old ) I'd say 2 / 3rd of the server's population is not even near being 7x gm you will find pvp or people to group with at any stage of the game , even the newbie levels of despise have at least 5 or more people hunting at pretty much any time !! ITS INSANE!!!

you call this trash old school? i dont see one player that isnt a gm mage on horseback. in the real oldschool UO there the greatest mages were in the 80s and early 90s. and people did not yet use those rediculously op spell combo macros.

I played Kenny Rodgers of DsR back in the day. The two main guilds i loved fighting most was IC! and OiN. I miss those days. That one guy in the video for S that kept running off screen looks like the character Cloud used after he came back from being banned for that faction sigil hack to turn your items purple. I miss this game so much. I never liked all the new expansions to be honest. I would prefer to play this over WoW any day (nothing bad against WoW). After the expansions it just became muddled gameplay to me.

I played the game from age 10 till 12 (I'm now 21, haha) and when I was that young I had a horse the ENTIRE length of the game named rage (I didn't even know what the word meant, I just thought it was cool). When I cancelled my subscription I didn't want to see him go to a bad owner so I attempted kill him but the Britain guards slayed me before I was done with my ceremonious kill :( Bad end to the game, haha.
And by "great PvP" do you mean PvP that, despite what they say, is not era accurate? Not to mention they pick and choose what they'll fix. I don't seem to remember CTF when I played on production shards, but I *do* remember people running around with 6+ dragons, which is absurd. There are some things about that era that are just whacked out and needed to be balanced. Plus, everyone multi-clients there. There are probably somewhere on the order of 300-400 unique IPs.

@frankvenn 2D is better. And WoW, LOTRO and others CLICK MACRO MADNESS INFINITY LEVELS are games for enclasured button clicker nerd childs. In UO you die, u lose items, u don't have levels: u have skills based on a p% calc. Everything is fine, the monsters are REALLY monsters. A player who have been laying for 3 years will die to any monster if he does something stupid. UO is much more about a "FANTASY IN REAL LIFE" than any other game.
WoW is an everquest rip off, not a UO ripoff. If WoW was like UO but in 3d, it'd be the best game ever made. And it'd have a hell of a lot less players.

First time I got "fair" on my title was really badass shit because hardly anyone had titles. We died easy from stuff like orges, orcs and ettins and rarely could afford horses to ride. No recalling or gating because magery was hard to figure out lol.

I was in the guild "The Band" We were the first people to place a large castle on Atlantic, but it got broken into by PK's using an exploit so a GM deleted the castle and gave us back the deed!

was also in LoD and -S- over the years as well. LoD Road and IC vs Oinland battles are some of my best gaming memories to date! :)

I played the game from age 10 till 12 (I'm now 21, haha) and when I was that young I had a horse the ENTIRE length of the game named rage (I didn't even know what the word meant, I just thought it was cool). When I cancelled my subscription I didn't want to see him go to a bad owner so I attempted kill him but the Britain guards slayed me before I was done with my ceremonious kill :( Bad end to the game, haha.

And by "great PvP" do you mean PvP that, despite what they say, is not era accurate? Not to mention they pick and choose what they'll fix. I don't seem to remember CTF when I played on production shards, but I *do* remember people running around with 6+ dragons, which is absurd. There are some things about that era that are just whacked out and needed to be balanced. Plus, everyone multi-clients there. There are probably somewhere on the order of 300-400 unique IPs.

I used to pvp against -S- on Metropolis, now I'm on UOAntiquity, because its the closest thing, sadly its population isnt high yet, but damn, everyone needs to get off the crappy UOR servers and come to pre-r.

@frankvenn 2D is better. And WoW, LOTRO and others CLICK MACRO MADNESS INFINITY LEVELS are games for enclasured button clicker nerd childs. In UO you die, u lose items, u don't have levels: u have skills based on a p% calc. Everything is fine, the monsters are REALLY monsters. A player who have been laying for 3 years will die to any monster if he does something stupid. UO is much more about a "FANTASY IN REAL LIFE" than any other game.

Hey don't forget Diablo. It wasn't a MMO, as it was more isolated, but it was a online game with parties and pvp and you could play for free!! Lag wasn't too bad either as long as you had a ok connection.
I always liked the old Ultima games though.

Simplicity was the best part.
No colored Armor,
hardly any magic weapons,
everyone was a noob,
No macroers
No scammers
No Glorious lords.
First time I got "fair" on my title was really badass shit because hardly anyone had titles. We died easy from stuff like orges, orcs and ettins and rarely could afford horses to ride. No recalling or gating because magery was hard to figure out lol.
You didn't have bank scammers because too busy trying to figure the game out.
Those were the fun days.

I started playing in Beta Phase 1, that was the rough and ready days. You'd be lucky if you could play for 5 minutes before the damn thing would lock up! But it was still so amazingly cool to be in a virtual world w/ other ppl. Now it's so commonplace but back then it was a total trip!
