The region's total tourism revenues went up by 39.65 percent to reach 7.14 billion yuan (1.11 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, according to the figures.

The bureau estimates that the number of tourist arrivals will hit a new high of 7.5 million in 2011. Tourism has become a pillar industry in Tibet, as its infrastructure and transportation have been significantly improved in recent years. The region receives over 10,000 tourists daily.
The Lhasa Gonggar Airport sees nearly 60 arrival and departure flights each day, while the three civil airports in Nyingchi, Qamdo and Xigaze handles 62 flights each week for tourists.

The Qinghai-Tibet Railway has transported over 10 million tourists since its opening on July 1, 2006, helping to drive up Tibet's tourist numbers, according to Padma Choling, chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
By the end of 2015, Tibet expects to host 15 million tourists annually and post annual tourism revenues of 18 billion yuan, Padma said.

I find it odd that the so called "Tibetan" at the end of the video, willing appear in shot with their faces showing. Why would anybody risk being seen on camera. When people that don't even live in Tibet know how protester are treated for going against the Chinese government. WHY, show their face when they know what will happen to them. Why? Why?

Rioters are so young and naive, they don't know the true history and persecution of their grandparents by the Lama king and warlords when they were slaves. Treated worse than animals! Brothers and sisters of the world. Please don't believe the lies of the lamas who made grandpa slave! Please don't allow Tibet to be run the same way as it was when 95% population was slaves under lama. Life is not perfect, but is much better now. We now have hospitals, education, there was police and safety.

I am Tibetan, not chinese. The chinese culture is alien to me. But dont get me wrong , I speak chinese, german, english , tibetan, hindi , bengali, nepali so I am exposed to a lot of cultures. I know LOT OF CHINESE SA always Tibet is a part of china!! I would like to give themn the benefit of doubt. Lets say it is . Their constitution guarantees autonomy to minorities . Why are they afraid to implement it?
