@winkawak Terrible for me, too long a pull. Powerful enough for what? They are fun guns for shooting paper really, wouldn't use them for anything else.
'Double action is where you pull the trigger, and this pulls back the hammer, in this case rotates the magazine, and then releases the hammer at the end of the stroke. With 'Single Action' the Hammer is pulled back and 'cocked' first, then the trigger is just used to release it.
So Single Action uses less force, and results in more controlled shots, Double Action allows fast repeat shots as in this video.
I find them good 'fun' guns., not to be taken too seriosly though, they are now quite costly and there are a few far superior air, rather than co2, guns out there, none of them multishot though :-)
Using a rest on a bench to illiminate movement duirng firing, the way they fire in the shooters hand can be different due to things like trigger and weight, so it's not fair to compare them unless we can take the technique out of it.
Power varies on all of these according to rate of fire, and ambient temperature, but accuracy is much the same from a benched gun, but the 1911 get's it for me as it's easier to stay accurate hand held.
Do you recommend Beretta 92 co2? I have Walther CP88 and i would like to know if it's better or worse than the Beretta. I'm don't bother taking part in this challenge. I'm not as good as you. However I would like to know what you think about these two guns.
As long as you're 18 or above, and the velocity is below 600fps you can buy a Co2 pistol and use it on private grounds or shooting ground which you have permission to use without a license
Not good to see thumbs down appearing here for nikkyniks, this is a valid question, people should not be knocked for wanting to learn more no matter how simple the enquiry.
hi have you tried the tanfoglia witness 1911 (not sure if its spelled tanfoglia) and is it any good ? nad on some page i read its only 3 rpm but that cant be true right ?
Yes, double action. The blow back guns are good for effect but tend to be limited to less accurate BB types, and a lot of the power is consumed in the 'blowback' action. These guns are technically, I suppose, revolvers.
i folowed ur instructions and dessasempeld the gun and i found safty grip not in the proper position , posinitioned it and it become good again , v thanx for help
i have the walther cp88 when i put it on safety i can still pull the trigger and i can pull back the hammer can you help me please i need to know what is happening is it bad or what
Does the gun fire? As long as the gun doesn't fire then the safety is working correctly. I have a CP88 and I can pull the hammer back too. The trigger also can move when the gun is on safety- but it won't fire.
its good idea and ur video so helpful but how to reach that safty grip inside the gun , i mean how to disassemble and assemble it again , i m afraid to damage my pistol ,u said that there are many complex parts and it can be very easy to cause damage to the gun without the proper care.,thanx for ur concern
Taken the gun apart is not hard, it's just very important to take note where the parts fit.
At your risk - Take off the top slide by removing the screw under the barrel on the muzzle, operate the slide release lever and guide the slide off.
The main frame is in two halves, remove the right hand grip, then release the three black screws. Gently prise the two halves apart (this is where you need to be careful), making sure all the internal parts stay in the left hand side of the frame.
i,ve got 1911 government month ago and it was amaizing but after a month it become less power and pellet jame many times and bove that i cant shoot with single action ,the pellet coudnt come out of the pistol inspit of the new co2 , do u think it is the hammer or safty grip? woud u plz tell me the reason and how can i fix it , and if u don,t mind to make a menatinance video cuz i dont have service center of co2 pistols in my country
It's possible that the grip safety mechanism is not engaging properly, this causes the valve to not open fully, giving a weak shot where the pellet is often not ejected from the gun. Take a look at the link I've added at the bottom of the Video description, it may help a little.
Hmm, you may be right, perhaps a product of the gun's higher weight? That's a six inch'ish diameter target, and the spread seems pretty big, but trying it will show that it's actually quite hard. I won't pretend that I didn't do this a few times with each gun to get these results ;-)
Cheers. Originally the finish on mine could be described as 'satin', but over time it's polished up a bit in few places, especially over the top slide. I also added some self adhesive polished aluminium to the ejector port cover, you can see that better in my CO2 pistol review vid.
I did have an indexing problem with my CP88, the magazine was not rotating fully, indicated by the pellet not ejecting, and the edge of the barrel leaving a crescent shaped impression on the pellet head, so watch out for that, mine just seemed to clear itself. On shooting technique, learn where the true aim point should be. The sights are not height adjustable, so I modified mine to suit where I like to aim, but you can adjust for side to side ('windage') and it's worth doing that off a rest
Get good trigger technique. Unlike a true firearm there is no recoil, so you can tune your hold a bit easier, find the right place on teh trigger where you don't pull the gun off target as you pull back the trigger. The 4" barrel is accurate in itself, but demands smater aiming as you don't have a great distance between the front and rear sights, so it's a bit more fussy than a longer gun. For care, use lubricated Crosman capsules at least every five, don't use cheap crap capsules.......
...and use quality flat head pellets, for decent economical ones try Dynamit Noble. Use a pellet lube, I don't have to clean my barrels because of using lube. Do not lubricate the gun with oil, use only quality gun grease very occasionally, and vary sparingly. Use gun oil only to wipe over the outside to keep the finish good. Don't take the gun apart for the sake of it. If it's working, leave it alone. Finally, be safe!!
I like the 1911 most, but I think that's a kind of history thing, respect for an amazing design from 1907 (I think that's when it was designed, but the US govt committed to it in 1911, hence the name. Think about our guys at the time on Webley revolvers and the American's had this, amazing stuff!). The CP88 is probably the better gun tbh, it's far better in the hand for sure, but has a long throw on the trigger, so less good for this sort of fun.
Not sure where you could get them, don't know where you are, but a search for 1911 grips should bring something up as the true firearm grips do fit this one, as far as I know.
It varies a lot depending on a number of things. I can get 90, if:
1) I take 15 secs or so between each shot
2) It's a warm day
I'll get 40 if:
1) I use rapid fire
2) It's cold.
The reason being the gas cools as it expands, more volume is used, so allow time to recover, if it's a cold day then it ain't going to warm back up easily.
So the makers quotes are about right, if you like to rattle htem off then it can become costly, if you like cosidered target shoooting then far less so.
great vid, i am about to get a beretta 92fs nickel for my b-day and im am a real novice. i have never owned an air pistol only air rifles with a spiring and i have a question about the co2 canister, can you leave one in you gun, say over night, if you stopped using it half way through a canister or would it mess up your gun? and also what i would do with a half spent canister when i have taken it out?
hey i would suggest you dont leave it in overnight as it can cause damage to your gun. And when you remove a have used canister it will just release the rest of the air out of it once removed because there is a hole in it.
don't listen to that last reply... you can leave the co2 in and it won't cause any damage to your seals because the 12 gram co2 bulb doens't have enough pressure in it to cause any...
so save yourself that 50 cents and leave it in for the next time you shoot! :)
p.s, im fukin jelous... always wanted a 92fs hahaha
The capsules should not be left in overnight, some say that's tosh, I say probably ok for one night, but leave them in too long and they definitely do screw the seals. Once pierced, they can't be removed and reused, they'll discharge completely as soon as you unlock them.
I've not seen the CP99 in the flesh Chris, but plenty seem to be very happy with them, so should be fine. Would be good if you could beat this time, it's been up here a long time now and I do know it can be done faster! :-)
Down to personal preference really, I get on best with the 1911, many people are happy with the CP88 (6" barrel version is nice!), loads of people rave about the 92FS. There are differences between the feel and sizes of these three, but they all pretty much perform the same. So the choice is your really.
Hey I was wondering what pellets you use (or know that will fit) Into the umarex 8 round clips. Like crossman or RWS pellets? I was also wondering if Domed pellets fit (I know the pointed one dont really. Im wondering this because because i was thinking of getting the Colt 1911a pistol. Is it any good? sorry for all the questions but it will really help a lot. THANKS!
I use Dynamit Nobel flat heads mostly, occasionally H&N Finale Match High Speed, both with Napier pellet lube. Some domeheads will fit, but there's little to gain for the distances these guns are good at. The 1911 is my favourite, but the grip safety device is the only weak point in the design IMHO, keep your eye on that, a rivet can get loose and prevent the device from engaging, resulting in misfires, mine had to be repaired.
hehe the shooting goes nice;) but i can't reload as fast as you can :( i just got my Walther and you did a great job:) you should be proud at it and if i could film it i'll try to ;)
I like it a lot, it's certainly the most comfortable one, I have the 6" barrel conversion for mine too, which makes it more powerful/accurate to use, but it's not been without it's problems. I prefer the 1911 to it though because the trugger action is just so much better for me than the CP88
hey,i saw the video and i think you are know airguns.I need some advice.I am trying to open an airgun shooting range in europe...what guns do you think i should get?I need about 6 models all airgun pistols...no riffles and no bbs....177 pellet guns...thanks...
mmm te diff is very little and not always you as a human will shoot at the same speed and reload at the same speed its almost impossible that a colt its better than the worlds 2 best guns the walthers and beretta im not saying the other guns are bad only saing that this 2 are better (in most of their models)
Dunno, it's all down to the trigger with these particular replicas, it's that alone that seems to make the difference here. I've had better times than this, but not filmed, the Colt still heads the rest in those times too.
What's needed here is someone to prove that wrong, get shooting guys!! :-). If folk don't have the means to stick the timer on the vid, post it anyway and I'll time it, you could then edit the vid to include the time achieved.
yep amm anyway i love walthers I think they are awesome but i dont really like the cp88 i like the p22 cp99 eaven the sp22 eaven the pps but no the p88 but i do like the berreta 92
Yeah, it's a personal preference thing for sure. The CP88 feels good in the hand, the Beretta 92 is just too big for my hands, the 1911 just suits me better I guess.
Thanks for the infomation. I agree with your comments regarding the compexity of these pistols. I have a number of FAC rifles and they are quite agricultural in comparison. I have used silicon gun grease to nicely free up the load release lever which was sticking, this required removal of the barrel. Quick loading is now very smooth. The trigger is smooth too, but its the long pull in double action mode that slows things for me. Another safety device I expect, which is no bad thing. Cheers.
Yeah I had the same problem with the slide release, it seems many do, but now it's been re-lubed and used a bit it's ok. The mag change time is not too dissiumilar between these three guns, it's the trigger action that eats the time, which is why the 1911 wins it, the trigger is a much shorter stroke than the other two on both double and single action.
I'm not aware of anything you can do to the trigger to lighten it. I guess the sear polishing thing could be done, but that'll only smooth up the release. Mine has benefitted though from some careful lubrication, with a moly gun grease, but I wouldn't recommend taking it apart if it's still under warranty, and don't do so unless you're confident with such things, these are more complex than some 'real' firearms.
Apart from that it's a fairly long stroke trigger, not dissimilar to the Beretta 92, and practice seems to be the only way to make it faster. You'll note that, even though these were my best times shot on video, the 11th shot with the CP88 stumbles a bit before letting go. This was because the trigger had not been pulled enough to release the hammer, I had to double take the pull on that one :-]
Quick shooting. Is it possible to lighten the Walther CP88 trigger, as mine is like pulling a cow out of a bog its that heavy. Nice pistol and good Umarex quality.

OK. Well I know it can be done, so hopefully someone will post up a better time.

can anyone say how the trigger on the CP88compares with the CP99?

why dont you like the cp88 is there something wrong with it or is it just ur preference
aaron1616161616 4 years ago
I like it a lot, it's certainly the most comfortable one, I have the 6" barrel conversion for mine too, which makes it more powerful/accurate to use, but it's not been without it's problems. I prefer the 1911 to it though because the trugger action is just so much better for me than the CP88

hey,i saw the video and i think you are know airguns.I need some advice.I am trying to open an airgun shooting range in europe...what guns do you think i should get?I need about 6 models all airgun pistols...no riffles and no bbs....177 pellet guns...thanks...
cristimit 4 years ago
mmm te diff is very little and not always you as a human will shoot at the same speed and reload at the same speed its almost impossible that a colt its better than the worlds 2 best guns the walthers and beretta im not saying the other guns are bad only saing that this 2 are better (in most of their models)
Zahed9327 4 years ago
Dunno, it's all down to the trigger with these particular replicas, it's that alone that seems to make the difference here. I've had better times than this, but not filmed, the Colt still heads the rest in those times too.
Jes437 4 years ago
What's needed here is someone to prove that wrong, get shooting guys!! :-). If folk don't have the means to stick the timer on the vid, post it anyway and I'll time it, you could then edit the vid to include the time achieved.

yep amm anyway i love walthers I think they are awesome but i dont really like the cp88 i like the p22 cp99 eaven the sp22 eaven the pps but no the p88 but i do like the berreta 92
Zahed9327 4 years ago
Yeah, it's a personal preference thing for sure. The CP88 feels good in the hand, the Beretta 92 is just too big for my hands, the 1911 just suits me better I guess.
Jes437 4 years ago
yep love the bertetta 92fs Elite II (2) it shots bbs but at a speed of 480 i love that gun
Zahed9327 4 years ago
Very well-made, but the 2nd gun is BERETTA, B-E-R-E-T-T-A!!! Quite unrespectful towards our best Italian products.
I am italian, and my best regards go to this gun, not to pizza or else.
Did I mention it's a veeery nice video?
4 stars :)

I apologise for the spelling error in the 'About this video' bit

Jes437 4 years ago
I'll be putting up a video reponses showing the mag change in a few days, I've had a few think this is a bogus vid, with my having two of each gun!
As if! :-)

Jes437 4 years ago
Apart from that it's a fairly long stroke trigger, not dissimilar to the Beretta 92, and practice seems to be the only way to make it faster. You'll note that, even though these were my best times shot on video, the 11th shot with the CP88 stumbles a bit before letting go. This was because the trigger had not been pulled enough to release the hammer, I had to double take the pull on that one :-]

Quick shooting. Is it possible to lighten the Walther CP88 trigger, as mine is like pulling a cow out of a bog its that heavy. Nice pistol and good Umarex quality.
