  • Donatella pronounces it ver-sa-chee

  • @FuatDemir93 Donatella does not pronounce it ver-sach-ee. I would know. Sometimes it's hard to tell because of her accent, but she says "Ver-sach-eh". I have multiple videos to prove it. hahaha

  • this is really, really, wrong.

  • I wonder what makes this guy right, I'm pretty sure in most places it's Ver-Sar-Chee

  • PronunciatonManual is far more accurate.

  • How to Pronounce NOM NOM NOM :D

  • How to Pronounce NOM NOM NOM :D

  • VER SUS

  • i always thought it was Versa-shhhh xD srry .____ .U

  • @pikapoo90

It's ver-sah-chee, trying to pronounce it like the guy in the video is making you liable to get an ass beating.

  • Bun sace

  • It's Ver-sah-chi.

  • no everyone knows its pronounced bun saucy

  • @williambrazzers

    Haha, exactly!

  • Wersacze

  • People that say "its the American pronunciation" are fucking stupid because in English ce can never make a ch or sh sound its contradictory

  • Lol. In BadBoriBoy's video he says it as it is said in this video.

  • @MusicalEutopia : No he doesn't. I also looked at other videos with other Itllians saying the name. Some pronouced with E some with I, but NONE said CHE which the guy in the video emphasisis. NONE of his videos are pronounced correctly. I would love for him to make a video on Juan Ponce De Leon. Again, as I have said on his other uploads, He is the worst educator kown to mankind.

  • @BadBoriBoy You heard what you wanted to hear. Even if those people pronounced it incorrectly, which they didn't (they just had a severely unstressed final vowel, as is typical of the language), it is still a fact that 'e' is pronounced 'eh' at the end of words in Italian. Sorry.

  • @MusicalEutopia

Perhaps you haven't noticed, but we're speaking English, not Italian. Pronouncing "Versace" the way this tool is in the video is making you liable for a well-deserved ass beating.

  • @NewYorkFlavour Don't involved yourself in a discussion you don't understand; we are speaking of the Italian pronunciation. Secondly, the proper pronunciation of the name will only ever matter to those couth enough to know or accept it. In other words, pronounce it however you'd like. LOL

  • @MusicalEutopia

If you would go to the uploader's profile, you would see that these videos are done on American English pronunciation, not Italian. I'm sorry if you're finding this difficult to understand, but no one's going to start pronouncing "Paris" as "pa-ree" with a throat "r" in English just to satisfy a couple of conceited shit stains on Youtube. What else? Do you also think English speakers should start pronouncing "Moscow" as "moskva", as it is in Russian?

  • @NewYorkFlavour Great red herring argument! I reiterate, "Don't involved yourself in a discussion you don't understand; we are speaking of the Italian pronunciation." Discuss what you'd like, but the fact remains that the argument you interrupted has nothing to do with it. Furthermore, never have I argued for a single American pronunciation of the name. In any case, this is my final response.

  • @MusicalEutopia

A red herring is a distraction, don't use terms which you don't understand. No one ever argued with you about how the term is pronounced in Italian.

  • Expensive. EX. PEN. SIVE. EXPENSIVE

  • @0Dowd HAHAHA :) That made my day!

  • @0Dowd I agree but, now they're at H&M and it's less expensive.

  • @HumorousClark but only for one collection! like Lanvin for H&M

  • @IlCOLElI True. It's a pretty nice collection. It's too bad it's only at their flagship stores.

  • I can't stop clicking these videos. Even though they are infuriating.

  • Pretty sure it's Ver-Sa-Chee, not Ver-Sa-Chay like this guy is sayin

  • /watch?v=l4uX_5VzdMI the guy clearly says it like this video.

  • isnt it ver-sar-chi?

  • isn't it Ver-sa-chi ?

  • ver-sa-chee

  • Versa-gay.

  • PronunciationManual's pronunciation is perfect! watch?v=vPXKQ2wrZds

  • You got this one wrong.

    It's "ver-sa-chee" and not "ver-sa-chay."

  • no its not.

  • This might be the only thing i learned from this guy.

  • @winterhome321

He's taught you wrong. Even the designer himself pronounced his own name "ver-sah-chee".

  • Versauce.

  • fo-satchy. F-O-Satchy!

  • Why do americans always go like 'ay' at the ends of words when it should just be a schwa?

  • Okay I am soooo confused. Should I say Versa-chi like the designer or Versa-che like most Italians do??

  • i dont uderstand the f and j in it

  • GOOD ONE NOMI MALONE!

  • vur-say-see! LOL J/K

  • YOU'RE ALL WRONG IT'S VERS-ACE

  • Eminem pronounced this as versace "versachi", so i dont give a fuck i'll say it his way

  • Versa-CHE/CHI the same shit..

  • Ver-sa-CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE D;<

  • Somebody hasn't seen Showgirls...

  • Ya that is right. People just mess up names if they don't speak the language. Like Giselle. Here name is pronounced Gis-ell-eee

  • It's actually 'CHE', the 'e' is pronounced as in 'egg'. If it was 'CHI' then there would be the letter 'i' instead of an 'e' (obviously). Think of the actor Al Pacino (pronounced pa-CHI-no because it contains the letter 'i'). Just remember, in Italian the 'ci' is pronounced 'CHI' ('i' as in igloo) and the 'ce' is pronounced 'CHE' ('e' for egg). Ps I'm Italian :)

  • Ver.Sach.IIIIIII

  • C'mon...American should speak American,Italians Italiano. Not everybody gives a shit of the words' origination.

  • Ver-sa-CHI

    The designer himself pronounced it.

  • this is not like lacoste /lacost/ wihouth to say the last vocal. versace /versach/

  • I have been pronouncing this wrong for... ages.

    I thought it was Ver-Sah-Chee. :(

  • Totally wrong.... More of an EEEEEE sound at the end

  • @17PAT17 Nope, that's the way everyone does it wrong, it's an Italian name, and E is pronounced '-eh'

  • @mobytoss ahhh Cool beans.. Thank you

  • I'm italian and this is the right way to pronunce it. But American people keep saying Versacee...so irritating

  • @michelam83

Oh my, where do I even get started with this one? Should we all start pronouncing "maestro" as "mah-ehs-tro", or "scenario" as "sheh-nah-ri-oh"? LOL, in English, we often anglicize words to acclimate them better with our tongues. If I were to ever meet someone pronouncing "Versace" like this, I would laugh and immediately correct him or her.

It's "ver-sah-chee" people, end of story.

  • @NewYorkFlavour same thing for us, laughing at your english pronunciation. This ("verr-sa-chay" is exactly how you should spell "Versace"

  • @michelam83

I'm pretty sure Italians pronounce English words a little differently, but we don't really complain now, do we?

  • @michelam83 What the fuck is Italian?

  • wrong man. VErrr-SA-CHI. Fast forward this video to 3:30 to hear the designer say his own name: watch?v=l4uX_5VzdMI

  • @BadBoriBoy haha the designer says versache...che not chi but che

  • @waflikky2 Yess! It's quite obvious.

  • @BadBoriBoy his pronunciation is correct

  • @BadBoriBoy Actually, that sounds more like what is pronounced in this video than how most people, myself included, say it. *changes my ways*

  • @BadBoriBoy thats wroooong! i'm italian and it's not pronounced Ver sa CHI!!!! it's ver sa cE! as you've pointed out correctly, that's how the designer pronounces it himself...

  • @BadBoriBoy sorry mate, but the video's right. It's "ver-sa-chay", and in the other video you linked, he pronounce it exactly that way (I'm Italian, I know)

  • @knoxmickey

We're speaking English, not Italian dumbfuck. The designer himself pronounced Versace the correct way, "ver-sah-chee". Do you also believe we should all pronounce "scenario" as "she-nah-ree-oh", or "maestro" as "mah-eh-stro"? There's this operation called "neutering", I strongly recommend you try it out before contaminating the human gene pool.

  • @NewYorkFlavour is this arrogance pure american style, or it's just you suffering from a lack of self confidence? I really hope it's the latter, at least for your compatriots. Anyway, no, the designer pronounced "Ver-sah-chay", but it's no use to explain to you how our pronounciation works. you can spell his name as you prefer: I don't really care. After all, for some people is always preferable to stay ignorant and to be laughed upon. Good luck, because you really need it.

  • @knoxmickey

/watch?v=l4uX_5VzdMI fast forward to 3:30 to see Versace pronouncing his own name, the correct way as it should be pronounced in English "ver-sah-chee". If you don't like the way English sounds or is pronounced, go learn French. With how pretentious and arrogant you are, you'd fit right in with the frogs.

  • @NewYorkFlavour I don't want to teach how's the american pronounciation. Clearly in english it's spelled ver-sah-chee. But, you know, this series of videos was made to explain how foreign words sounds in the original way, which, for Versace, is in Italian. That's it. Pronounce it as you wish, I'm not coming to the USA trying to school you all, but you can't laugh at anyone who's spelling it correctly in the italian way. That being said, I think we're arguing on a very useless matter.

  • @knoxmickey

Quoted from the profile: "Pronunciation Book shows you how to say various words in American English." And this has nothing to do with spelling, this is about pronunciation. If I were speaking Italian with you, I would be happy to use the Italian pronunciation, but as we're speaking English, I'm going to stick with the anglicized phonation.

  • @BadBoriBoy LOL I'm pretty sure he just got used to the Americanized version of his name and went along with it. Versace is a fairly common last name in Italy, and the way it's pronounced in this video is correct.

  • @1984ThoughtPolice

This is the correct Italian pronunciation, not the correct English pronunciation, sorry. We don't always emulate the pronunciation of names in the original language, they are often adapted and anglicized. Do you also suggest English speakers start nasalizing the "on" in "Napoleon" or start pronouncing "Paris" as "pa-ree" with a throat "r"?

  • @BadBoriBoy Trust me, I'm italian and I can guarantee that this is the proper pronounce. Probably Versace says it like that because he got used to the wrong English pronounce himself.

  • @BadBoriBoy This is correct, I'm italian and I know it. Just, the designer probably got used to hear the wrong english pronounce so he started saying it like that himself because correct pronounce sounds bad in an english sentence.

  • @Brigister

Where did you get this delusion that we always pronounce words in English exactly as they are in the native language? We say "Naples", not "Napoli", we say "Rome", not "Roma". We pronounce "bologna" as "baloney", not "buh-lohn-ya".

  • @NewYorkFlavour I never said that. I just said that the way he pronounces it in the video is NOT wrong. Then say it in the way you want, I don't care, I often pronounce english words in the wrong way, just don't say that this video is wrong.

  • @Brigister

Of course its wrong, this is not the way English speakers pronounce "Versace", if anyone actually pronounced "Versace" as in the video, they are a tiny minority of the population. Common usage should dictate. Does it make sense that "balogna" became "baloney"? It's a strange transformation, but there's nothing to do now.

  • @NewYorkFlavour I know that English speakers pronounce it "ver-sa-chee", it's obvious that they dont say it "italian way" coz they're not Italian native speakers, its normal, plus the Italian proper pronounciation would sound SO bad in an English sentence. Just, my point is that the video says "How To Pronounce Versace", not "How To Pronounce Versace like an English speaker" so the video is "loyal" to what the title says, it teaches you what the proper NATIVE pronounciation is. End of arguement.

  • @Brigister

Actually, these videos are done on American English pronunciation. Read the uploader's profile.

  • @NewYorkFlavour Ok, then you're right, that's it. Just don't say this video is totally wrong, 'cause this is actually partly right.

  • @NewYorkFlavour There is no American English pronunciation, just learn the original language and you'll be fine ;)

  • @rogerliciouz

There is no American English pronunciation? So English isn't a language is what you're saying? And no, the original pronunciation as in Latin would be "wer-sah-keh", is that what you're proposing, or are you done being a moron now?

  • @NewYorkFlavour There is no American English pronunciation of this word! Stupid asshole!

  • @rogerliciouz

So your saying the true, correct pronunciation is "wer-sa-keh", as in Latin, and that the video is wrong?

  • @NewYorkFlavour WHAT?! You're the one who's a moron here... Vérsáccé, do you understand?

O Pior Cego É Aquele Que Não Quer Ver! Fuck You!

  • @rogerliciouz

I'm sorry, I don't understand your broken Spanish. Once again, trying to pronounce it "ver-sah-chay" in English is making you liable to get your teeth knocked out. It's "ver-sah-chee", period. And you want to work on your Spanish.

  • @NewYorkFlavour Broken Spanish? LOL that's a new one xD It's portuguese! LOL Like from Portugal?

You just made a fool of yourself! Asshole!

  • @rogerliciouz

Of course I know it's Portuguese, I'm just enjoying watching you get upset.

  • @NewYorkFlavour And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why Americans are hated like the animals they are!

  • @rogerliciouz

Yes, these "animals" created the first desktop computer, which you are using right now, and this website, "Youtube", oh, and a little thing called the "internet". By the way, referring to human beings as animals is very un-Christian.

  • @NewYorkFlavour I actually don't give a crap about what you invented, because I'm using a Spanish computer, with a Portuguese network, and one more detail, I don't believe in religion ;)
