  • What a peaceful song....God bless you guys...Cris M. Rest in Peace 2-15-12

  • @charliebondify ? Did a band member die or something?

  • God says that we are not to live in the past because he isn't a past God is a Living and Present God.

  • FOR NARNIA!!!!!!!!!

  • man i love this song. but it's true i can't back how it used to be. man i miss those days. thumbs up if i'm right

  • amen! "I seen the enemy and I aint going back"

  • It makes me happy that there are only 5 dislikes.... those people would be The White Queen and 4 of her followers

  • "No matter how bad things may seem, they can't get any better, and they can't get any worse." "That doesn't mean you can't try to make it better"

  • I love this song and I'm an athiest. Who cares, enjoy the song! Peace everyone.

  • switchfoot is not christian, they are secular, they have even said that they dont want to be boxed in as a christian band...if u r christian u need to be open and clear about it.....anyway switchfoot is one of my favorite bands.

  • I always try and sing along with this but I can never hit the high note when he says "homeee"

    :)

  • @MrRepublicanman I can hit the home note :) Just have to train and strengthen your voice. Took me a while to be able to sing that without dropping to a light tone and not sing normal sound. Just practice. If you truly sing, you can slowly progress up to sing out without dropping tone and going to a light tone. Voice coaching lessons recommended? :)

  • This song is my favorite switchfoot song... Wait this is my favorite song ever!

  • The morning of my sons funeral...my hubby left to take my daughter up to the church...i was alone, on my face crying out to God to take this indescribable pain from me, that it was going to kill me...I asked God to let me know where my Joshua was...and this song came on the TV immediately...i had never heard it before and it happened to come from his favorite book from childhood...God is always good and Never Late. I so love my savior and He obviously LOVES me. ♥

  • 4 people need to find their home, in Christ Jesus

  • 4 people need to get a liffe

  • "We do not have souls, we are souls. We have bodies." - C.S. Lewis

  • <3 This @Johnrzeznik1 Sweet Dreams...

  • This song fits me so perfectly!

  • awwww

  • This is home and it is Beautiful!

  • this is was my theme song last year. i was homeschooled up until 7th grade. my mom had to go to college so she couldn't homeschool me anymore. on the first day of school when we were in the parking lot this song came on and it gave me and my mom reasurence that it was god's plan for me to go to school. it made me feel like the school was my place, and it helped me settle in and not hate the situation so much. -this song is so inspiring!! <3

  • wow this is so touching like i was thinking earlier today how i wish i was young again then i hear this and its so touching.

btw 5 people who dislike it FUCK YOU

  • I love this song!!! SO inspirational, heart over mind is my perspective on this. I listen to this song in my car and it so uplifting. You can believe that there is heaven on earth and heaven is home.

"And I've got my heart set

    On what happens next

    I've got my eyes wide

    And it's not over yet

    We are miracles

And we're not alone"...God loves you!!!

  • @Bint211 Heaven is not our home. Heaven is a place we go to until Jesus returns. Then, we go to New Jerusalem/New Earth. THAT is our home, not heaven. We are not in heaven for eternity. Just like Narnia wasn't heaven. They leave Narnia in the last book, through the doorway into a NEW world. CS Lewis was conveying it because he knew it is true because it was in the Bible..

  • @howieeekim You can conjecture all you want about such matters but if it is not supported by the Bible then I do not think that is relevant. I read all those books too and I didn't get that vibe. I do not think CS Lewis thought that either. I think that spoiler spoiler when all of the characters died in that train that they went to Heaven. I think CS Lewis was simply expressing what Heaven is like. Read the New Testament for yourself and find something that backs up what you are saying.

  • @markthe5hark8 it is in the bible. Revelation 21. It says the old heaven faded. New Jerusalem. the Holy City is our final destination. Give me passages that back up what you believe.

  • @howieeekim Luke 23:42-43 42 Biblos it. Some people have said that because paradise was used in that statement and not heaven it was different than regular heaven, purgatory. I don't believe in purgatory and I also think that Heaven will remain constant. God is not attached to time so Heaven doesn't need to be either. I think it was just written for imagery and shouldn't be interpreted literally just like the creation. I don't think there will be 4 creatures covered in eyes either. Revelation 4.

  • @markthe5hark8 ohh noooo now I know what happens at the end!! lol i know you wrote "spoiler spoiler" n thx for that but i was so curious that I read anyway, oh well hahaha

  • YEAAAA!!! JON FOREMAN!!!!!

  • it is the heart and intent of the one that wrote the music that determines wheather it is "good" or "bad". so if one genre of music is wrong just because of how it sounds then all music is wrong.. and that can't be true because we along with the angels will sing praises and make music to God in heaven... and i defend this and other types of christian music because it is what God used to change my life

  • in every genre of christian music you will find a secular version of that genre..... there is no way to make a musical genre that is specificaly christian and that can't be perverted by the world..... just think..... gospel music and bluegrass are virtually the same, and there are just as many songs that talk about lust for a woman or alcohol or sex as there are that are about God or spiritual matters...... music is neutral and can't be labeled "good" or "bad" in and of itself. (continued)

  • Switchfoot is the best band ever...I want to meet them so badly and tell them how grateful I am for their amazing and inspiring music!

  • i love you Switchfoot! you guys are just awesome ;]

  • This band is so inspiring

  • Happy Easter S, from Illinois. This is my home! Miss you much.

  • Switchfoot is the only band I actually love, I love all of their songs, they never let me down. :)

  • I love Switchfoot so much, and this song gives me chills. Beautiful.

  • What a beautiful song. I am happy he addresses C.S. Lewis, because I was very upset when I heard a channel of speakers talking against him saying he was not Christian. I think he shared a beautiful message of God. Thank you SF for acknowledging it.

  • i started singing this in the middle of religion, and it was a good time because my teacher put the video up on the projector. it was awesome and suddenly the entire class was singing along. good times, good times. :)

  • thumbs up if you looked for this song because of EPSN

  • I think Switchfoot should be bigger, one of the major bands. I always hear about MercyMe, and those kind of people, not that I don't like them. I like each artist for a different type of music. My favorite is praise, but Switchfoot is my favorite all-around band ever.

  • Belief over misery

    Best Lyric ever :D lol

Thanks for everything switchfoot :D <3

  • @johanna12941

"Belief over misery" you're right..........best lyric EVER. 3 words....live them.

  • @hilltopfamily I'm going to take this as a sign.

    Thanks :)

    God Bless

  • @johanna12941 Amen to that.

  • @johanna12941 i no what u mean i was lost wen i listned to it but when the song ended i wasnt lost anymore

  • @johanna12941 Amazingly true. ;)

I am forever going to love this song.

  • I love Switchfoot soo much, what an amazing band!!

  • I'm not Christian, but this band has touched me.

  • ESPN is using this song right now for the upcoming NCAA basketball tourney!

    So glad they are.

  • I really love this song. It is one of my favorite songs of all time, perhaps my one favorite. It holds a special meaning for me because it reminds me of the great school that I went to for nine years, and all of the amazing friends that I had there. It's just such a beautiful song.

  • I got goosebumps from listening to this song, it's wonderful <3

  • Personally I don't think this song has to be religious...just because you've found your "home" you're searching for doesn't mean it has to be believing in god or anything. Some people find their place with god, but you can definitely find your place without god too.

  • 4 people sadly dont have homes...

  • some bands need to start taking advantage of how cool harmonicas can be when you add them in. I may just be saying that because i play the harmonica in my youth group band.

  • dude i got to meet them there sooooooooo awesome

  • This song makes me cry because I know so many people from so many different religions who need this song. God is my home because my heart is in God's hands, and home is where my heart is.

  • This song just makes me think of how I am NOT ready to grow up.... I still want to be little and not have a care in the world.... I'm not ready to graduate high school and go out into the scary world, because we all know it's a SCARY place out there on your own, but then another part of me knows that if you believe in God and have a relationship with him it makes it a little less scary because he'll always be with you <3

  • Fuck Justin Bieber. This is true talent and art...

  • @kvsyaoran727 The use of foul language is just a weak mind trying to make a strong point. I disagree with your choice of language but the statement is 100% true.

  • @plaidknight5 Sorry...

  • @kvsyaoran727 Okay, FINE! Don't comment back , you p***k.

  • waiting for a live album!!

  • I love this bands style. My older brother got me hooked when I was a little girl, and I think I like them more than he does now!

Thank God for good Christian artists who spread a positive message through their music and lyrics.

  • Contemporary Christian Music is God's Enemy! Switchfoot is one of the most worldly rock-n-roll bands on the planet, and they dare mock God by claiming to be "Christians"! They are heathens, and they're turning God's house into a den of thieves. They are using the name of Christ to make money, seducing Christian young people into their vile Devilish music. Their music sounds no different than the world's. Christian rock is a lie of the Devil. Repent and turn back to the God of the Bible!

  • @shiphrahhopeful I think you're missing the concept, they are an amazing band, inspired by God. You can't come to conclusions like that, where's your reasoning? It takes men of God to write and live like this, if they were "Devil music" why would they be living a Godly lifestyle? Just because they don't look at Christianity the same way you do, doesn't mean you have to condemn them. I love Switchfoot and John Foreman, and the movement of the band.

  • @nate3lee Either shiprahhopeful really believes what he/she typed, or he/she is mocking Christians by posting something so offensive. In either case, I don't think we should respond.

  • @shiphrahhopeful

dear lost one, there is no said way to praise God, or makes songs to God, back in the 1800s you there for of worship was psalms, and then 1900s hymnals, and now contemporary music. I am not trying to attack you, but how are you the Judge of anyone, only God knows who is worthy of him and who is a deceiver. Please I pray that you stop falsing accusing and judging people you know nothing about. You should never judge a book by its cover.

  • @shelldevol By calling me "lost one", and telling me not to judge, you are making a moral appraisal of someone whom you accuse of making moral appraisals. By not tolerating my intolerance of pagan rock music, and telling me not to judge, in the process you are committing the very crime of which you find me guilty...you're judging me!

  • @shelldevol

Sorry for calling you lost one. Honestly I am, I was in a hurry. So that was not right for me to judge you or call you names. But my only question is whom gives you the authority to be the Judge of what is acceptable music?

  • @shelldevol Jesus taught that those who are living right are qualified to tell other people to live right. Only those who are not living right are disqualified from telling others how to live. I got the sin out of my life,(the log out of my eye). I've repented from listening to the same music style of the world. So now I can see clearly in order to judge right, and not hypocritically. The Bible tells me what kind of music is acceptable music....(continued)

  • @shelldevol (CONT')..."Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and SPIRITUAL songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" Ephesians 5:19

'Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in PSALMS and HYMNS and SPIRITUAL songs, singing with GRACE in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

  • @shiphrahhopeful This group is what you described, I am sorry but you seem to see only what you want to see. You remind me of how I use to be, using God's word to justify my means. God is about love not condemning anymore. He wants to say us all, I believe he is using any means to reach out to the lost. Which Jesus did do, he sought the very ones that groups like this can reach better than other christian groups. I hope & pray that may you have eyes to see & ears to hear. May you be blessed.

  • @shiphrahhopeful Music is music, and it does not matter how it sounds like, but the meaning behind its lyrics. Shouting that Hillsong United (example) is the Devil's music when the lyrics say otherwise shows that you're a fanatic. And the fact that you post biblical verses that prove my point about lyrics makes you ignorant.

  • C.S. Lewis wrote lots of excellent books. The Chronicles of Narnia (series) isn't just for kids--many people read it for the first time as adults. He wrote a scifi space trilogy and many serious books about issues like why does God allow suffering, and the importance and simplicity of prayer (which is just conversation with our heavenly Father). This song does a great job capturing the spirit of Narnia for all those who have tasted its joys...

  • I admire this band and Cs. Lewis!! I ♥ them both!! haha....

  • i'll admitt it ... i cried >.<

  • @BettaShake That's understandable.

  • Ive always loved Narnia, its one of the closest thing in my heart, its the thing that get me longing for heaven. And switchfoot, no matter how old, will always be the best band in the world!

  • who ever dislike this ....does not know real music...switchfoot best band ever!!!

  • who ever dislike this....doesnt know real music!! best band ever!

  • I READ THESE WHEN I WAZ 9!!!!

  • Every song I hear from Switchfoot is absolutely brilliant!

  • I Love All There SOngs Like Thiss && The Mellow Ones . (:

    I <3 Switchfoot & Most Of Alll Jesus (:

  • C.S.Lewis is the grandfather of my 4th grade teacher

  • @wrestleXrock ?? Lewis didn't have any children, unless your referring to his stepchildren.

  • @waltina thats proably but she proablly didn't say that cause who wants to explain that to 4th graders or she did and i don't remember after all i get hit in the head alot

  • i love swhitchfoot. they are my favorite band. and the narnia books are my favorite books. and i love that jon talking in the beginning just shows how down to earth and amazing these guys are. theyre not some stupid stuck up famous guys. they are wonderful musicians and thank God for this group!

  • god I love c.s.leiws's books..and this group is alsome.

  • love it

  • I heard this song on christian radio and the song struck me right there. This songs great. Thanks for the post switchfoot

  • I saw this live!! This was filmed at Nashville!!

  • i love this band.

  • Wow, what a beautiful song. His little speech int he beginning really set the mood for me. Who doesn't wish they could go back to the way they were as children. I miss how magical the world was then for me.

  • @BeetleBUMxX yeah me to because then i thought everything was all smiles and giggles but now i think it sucks, a lot, but still as long as there is some one is using their talent for something good like Switchfoot i can still see a glimmer of hope however small it may be it's still there

  • @01DragonWriter Yeah I go back to this song whenever I feel sad. It's also cool to read comments like yours just 'cause it lets me know I'm not alone in how I feel. This song is great. It helps me get in touch with that kid I use to be. It's really adulthood that makes us doubt ourselves, as kids we always believed in the possibility of things. After I hear this song I don't doubt myself as much.

  • Words cannot describe how much this band has got me through, through the years. God has seriously sent these men to us for numerous reasons. I love Switchfoot... So, so, soo much.

  • I came here to listen to Switchfoot and SEE Switchfoot, but what's up with that Bieber picture in an iPhone on the left side of the vid? Seriously, it ruins the moment...this is why I hate Vevo.

  • @SimlishSammy finaly some one agrees

  • @SimlishSammy! Well don't feel bad...I have to see Shakira each time! It's all a business...I posted it on my facebook wall, so I can just watch it or listen...from there!

    This Is Your Life.

  • @eastariel isn't that one of their songs and it's true switchfoot is way better

  • @01DragonWriter Yes, it's my favorite song. Here's the chorus:

"This is your life, are you who you want to be

This is your life, are you who you want to be

This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be

When the world was younger and you had everything to lose"

~ Switchfoot, "This Is Your Life"

I saw them in concert recently. They're awesome.

  • Thank you guys for the best music since the Beatles. Praise God, thanks Jon for mentioning my favorite author since my salvation in high school in 1970, CSLewis. I always enjoy seeing you guys in concert and I enjoyed attending church there when I'm out surfing in Encinetis,CA.

  • this isnt our true home our true home is in heaven with the father and savior

  • @emilee12333 amen brother

  • this song was used in our Senior Video! South Side 2010!!

  • i dont know if switchfoot is christian, but it sure sounds like it. i'd love them even more if i knew for sure. but whether they're christian or not, I LOVE SWITCHFOOT! i can ALWAYS relate to the lyrics and i love the music itself. just an overall excellent band.

  • He kinda looks like David Spade at times

  • My dad read me all the Chronicles of Narnia to me when I was little and this song brings back so many memories. :)

  • AWSOME VIDEO LOVE THE BAND!!!!!!!!

  • to rsxsixspeed GOD left you a novel HIS WORD(BIBLE)demonstrated on the cross.

  • @CJL0kitA

What you just rattled off has no relevance to what I said. Try to preach without using words such as "bible," It makes people uncomfortable. Just be Mohamed-like, Jesus-like, Allah-like, or whatever and call it a day.

  • @rsxsixspeed all we can hope for is to be a good person, and share that sense of love for one another. if you have that then you should be proud of it, im christian but no matter what religion you are have those values. God loves us.

  • I wish my dad would read me a novel

  • @rsxsixspeed Our father left you the Bible, his word. except it can't be read as a novel. It's a living thing, it thrives when you do, suffers when you do. One day, either when you're bored, or feeling down, or what, flip to a page and just read. If that doesn't work, flip to another. It's a truth we were meant to receive and distribite.

  • @mrunposible before you read this, i just want you to know that i don't find anything wrong with christians, but i have wondered this forever_> yeah, cuz no matter what mood you're in, the bible will tell you whether or not you should turn the other cheek or go eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. why does it use both? jw

  • @jalen2467 There honestly is no way of explaining it. Men and women have tried, and all anyone can get is a vague outline. The only way to understand it is to read it. Not from cover to cover, but just to flip it open and read.

  • this is my temportrary home my eternal home is in heaven
