Fantastic, this was the best time of my club life, watching the Action in The BLUE MOON Cheltenham: This is was MOD music. Saw them a dozen times in the 60's. RIP Reg or should I say rock on!!!

great record, simon fucking cowell eat your heart out prat couldn't make a record like this this if he lived to be a 100,and as for that little weasel louis walsh dont get me started.
I saw these guys at the 100 Club about 8 years or so ago - not sure if they're still doing gigs but...even though they all looked a bit fat and grandaddy-like they sounded AMAZING. They even had that flute player with them who was on a few tracks in the 60s. Reg's voice was really brilliant. Lots of young mods turned up in retro styles, it was a pretty good night..!
Man what a great surprise to hear this! I always heard about this cover and thank goodness for you tube! I find I'm actually liking this a LOT! Like some of the other posters, I agree- both versions hold their own. The Marvelettes' version will always hold strong in my heart, but now, I'm glad to make room for another new favorite!
Very Northern but with the white vocal character..........a great song which I use to listen to when I was about 15 in my mates living room as a young Mod .......Ian Young was his name and me other buddy Jamie Newell we where all Faces as far as "We" were concerned!!!!!!!!!!
brigader4heart ...I gotta agree...The action were a great white soul outfit...Their development is undersung as well...Rolled Gold is stunning and Mighty Baby were a great groop too
Yeah, but the who were prolific song writers. They were writing albums that changed music for ever, when other bands were wondering what to do next.Thats what they did.And they were so good at it .That their still trading on it now.
Best link I ever recieved. Thanks for that one! Lots of nice photos of Reggie and the boys, I wish I could find more, but those were enough to satisfy me, at least for the time being. hehe.
A great band, no doubt, but to make comparisons with The Small Faces (hands down)...I think you're going too far.I'm not talking about musical tastes...Steve Marriott was too great to make comparisons.
Top cover of just simply a fantastic tune to start off with, both versions hold their own. I DJ and having to decide which one to play really pulls me in two some nights.
Thanks for posting it now just gonna sit back at work & turn the vlume right up right up.

released Feb 66 on Parlophone in UK. Since its a George Martin production, my guess is probably Jan 66.
