Yes he is one of the greats but he doesn't have to be distracting or moaning and groaning at the table when things don't go his way. This isn't a pool hall where you can use these sharking tactics to throw off your opponent. Its professional pool so act like a professional. All players get old and get their buts kicked by the younger generation someday. 6 time world snooker champ Steve Davis regularly gets beat today by players half his age yet he continues to compete and be gracious in defeat.

When you have won 5 US Opens, 6 World Titles & can break and run 11 consecutive racks of 9 Ball for $1 Million, then & only then can you run Earl down for his attitude & behavior. He has every right to be upset about the lack of respect he gets, considering his accomplishments in the sport! I've heard it mentioned before & his behavior shows signs of being "Bi-Polar", A condition that could easily be treated with medication. J. Archer shows signs of "OCD"

In fact their medical condition is probably partly responsible for their success in the sport. As for Earl & this interview, the 5 or 6 times that I have had the chance to meet & talk to Earl, this was the way he treated me. If you talk to him like a human being he will respond in kind! Try going up & talking to Tiger Woods, IF you get past his Security! You'll get a "who are you" & "Why are you talking to me"!

Anyways, he started going off how he got unlucky and his temper started to flare. I never said a word and he started to get mad at me for being Asian. He ended up saying some nasty things to me and all I did was give him a cigarette.

That's hilarious. He and Johnny Archer came to San Antonio in September of 2008. He said "I'll shoot you full of holes." He was talking to the whole crowd and telling a story. Must be a favorite line of his. Anyway, he and Archer put on a good show. He signed my cueball and was very polite. I also got to take a picture with both of them. Earl is a monster on the table but at least from my experience, a gentleman while signing memorabilia and talking to fans. So was Archer by the way.

I got a cue autographed. i wanted to get pictues of them both but i had to wait for them to finish some games. it was a 2 hour waiting list to play earl haha and a one hour waiting list to play rodney. they were both great guys. the japanese people are nice. they let me play rodney as soon as i arrived. of course i lost 5-1. i think he let me win that one haha.
