  • excellent job marine ooorrraaahhhh

  • Comment removed

  • why would they let known gangbangers and drug dealers in the Marines in the first place....

  • @LightoftheFather As he said it was either that or prison. The Marines aren't some boyscout or summer getaway church camp. The Marines are full of a bunch of pissed off mother fuckers with chains around their neck screaming, "LET THE DOGS LOOSE!". Once a Marine, always a Marine. Even through court-martial or death, always. That is the oath we own, for it does not matter what happened in previous lives, when we are born as Marines we become the finest force of freedom in the world. Semper Fidelis

  • @killswitch12341 I thought the military had a no drug charges policy for applicants. Heck I was under the impression any kind of criminal charges could be disqualifying.

  • @LightoftheFather People who in the Marines that do drugs get Dishonorably discharged. if you do it before and you stopped, you may be able to get in but once in and you do a crime, it better be a traffic ticket

  • @LightoftheFather This story must be pretty damn old, because they don't let people like him in anymore. You can't have any felonies.

  • @Ihateopp I know they waived that restriction during the second Gulf War. Did they reinstate it after our troops left Iraq? I hope not, it might be some kids' last chance in life. Won't always work but when it does it's wonderful.

  • @danning1 I enlisted in August of 2011. No branches were waiving felonies. Things do change all the time, though. They are really strict on bringing people who were in gangs though. They won't accept anyone with gang tattoos or anything that is offensive towards a group.

  • holy shit didnt know this was SSGT Nichols I'v seen this guys other videos he can be scary didnt reconise him at all in this vid til I hit more info

  • Hi Chris,

    Congratulations on everything.

Any time you need to get a story out, NewsBlaze is here for you.

You are an inspiration to many.

    Alan.

  • @cfig24 It's so nice to hear such an inspirational story. I have so much respect for your former DI and his/Marine philosophy, and you. Wondering if you finished your MBA and what you're doing now. Also, what is your physical health like? With Physical Therapy, were you able to get some return of movement and/or ambulatory success? Best to you.

  • the Drill Insrtuctor may be your worst friend in basic training.. in the war zone the Drill Instructor is your best friend. But the Drill Instructor will NEVER be your enemy,,

by the way the D.I is still your best friend in BT

  • Now send them overseas to commit war crimes.

  • @CybershulDotCom it's not the "pupet" that commits war crimes. keep that i mind.

  • Now send them overseas to commit crimes.

  • Good lord! How many times have I said it. This is exactly what these kids NEED! When the Marines back you into a corner, you just Try to come back spittin and kickin'. I remember one DI saying " hey man I got all Day!" LOL.

  • people actually dislike the fact that somebody turned their life around for the better? wow...

  • The Marine Corp kept me out of prison, I was homeless, had a pregnant girlfriend, no highschool diploma, life going nowhere......I called a recruiter, he helped me get my GED, and got me in the Marines.......saved my life.

  • @MIKEL0352

    PLEASE REPLY BACK.

How did he help you get you GED?

  • @bloodshot738 Well, long story short...I had been kicked out of my dads house, had nothing....I walked into a recruiting office and told my recuiter I had nothing and needed something to turn my life around.......he gave me the GED work packet, and would let me study at the office....he put me up in a motel for a couple weeks and helped me out with food......took me to the testing center and when I got my GED, took me down to MEPS and put me in the Corps.

  • @MIKEL0352 WOW thats awesome!

I'm 15 right now and when i graduate high school im joining The United States Marine Corps. :) i would like it for you to tell me so info of how is the Marine Corp like from start.

  • @bloodshot738 Good luck man. Focus on schoolwork and getting that diploma, because its a long wait.

  • @Ihateopp Thank You!

  • Anyone who lived a life of crime than transferred over 2 the military let alone the Marine Corps to make something of themselves gets my respect cause its mentally hard as fuck. Your use 2 doing what you want living a fast life cause its all you no than you get a gut check and you have 2 rebuild yourself up in a different disciplined way yea its hard I'm still working on it myself..1yr strong OORAHH

  • they prolly beat the shit out of him which is why he turned around

  • @deathhax Probably not :)

  • ive seen this d.i. b4 on youtube haha =D

    he's awesome!!!

  • Pretty Motivational. Shows why Marines are Marines. Never quit. especially when most of your life you are making poor decisioins. Attempted Murder is a big freakin charge. then to become the Marine of the Year. Sad that he got stabbed but he acted on the situation and saved his friend.

  • Keep up the good work Sir...not too many will do what you did for this particular gentlemen..and God Bless America and her MARINES

  • HOOAH!!!

  • your a good man for helping this individual

  • Powerful story. Good luck to the guy. He could use some by the sound of it.

  • He looks like John Cena

  • Makes me think I should have gone into the Marines. Too late now. I am 54. But I have been a spoiled brat all my life.

    Oh well! ...

  • Google Search Gulen Marine Base Hawaii it almost happened be on guard they will be back again.

  • thats fucked upCant land a job because of his criminal background. I know its a policy in most major companies, but he became a Marine AFTER his shady days, and even won the award of Marine of the year.... sorry to you US soldiers who sworn to protect the US. War Vets or not, THATS the thanks you get. And its unfair

  • The gangbanger was able to accomplish Marine of the Year because he was the biggest asshole of the USMC.

  • @kev3145 I was actually one of the coolest Marines around. Any Marines I was in charge of would tell you that :)

  • Is that ssgt Nichols?

  • @biglu2 Yea <3 haha

  • Outstanding. Congratulations on turning your life around.

  • Humbled. Get some devil, and show those mofo's Marines dont quit, KILL!

  • You look nervous when public speeking

  • slim shady to the 10th power

  • good story..i had four court martials....countless article 15's..talk about a loser. well i was discharged with a general under honorable condition. went to school got a degree.got a commision in the infantry usarmy and retired ..thanks to Dog Oster, major usmc who guided me to a success. it was a fking miracle!!!!!!!!!!! Co C-1-505 Mar 68

  • I'm glad the corps gave that kid a chance but how come the Corps told me to go fuck off... It's been two years now and it still pissing me off... gang banger than Marine... The little prick must have been 18.

  • Unacceptable that the military today accept anyone with a criminal background, period. It used to not be the case and it showed. I can assure you, the Marines are not what they used to be.

  • @equinoxranch Criminals can't join if they want to

  • @equinoxranch I'm not trying to start an argument, but i am in the DEP program and currently attend high school. My recruiter is only allowed to recruit one person a month because the Marines are at a population level that they like. This being said, they will only accept those who show the positive qualities that Marines have. I have a 3.8 GPA, got a 91 on ASVAB, and a 298 on the PFT. And they almost didn't let me in. I believe they have significantly raised the bar.

  • @KansasGuys YOU MUST HAVE A MEDICAL PROBLEM CAUSE THATS STUPID, I WOULDNT JOIN IF THEY WOULD PLAY THAT GAME. JOIN THE AIRFORCE

  • @godisgreat82ify shut up ur from kanses kanses ppl dont know nothing

  • @KansasGuys WTF i have a GPA of 1.8 and i score a 69 in the ASVAB. Theres like 5 other kids joining too in my school and some of they score less then 50. LMFAO your recruiter just didnt wanted you to join or he just doesnt like u so he made up some bullshit

  • @equinoxranch maybe, but I know marines who came in without a criminal record and became "marine-bangers" over the years. Highly state trained criminals. This kid turned his life around and it helped him to stop being a ganster.

  • Problem is, once he's done with the military, he can bring military style tactics back into the gang lifestyle if he chooses down that path. That will be very bad for police. There are stories of this already happening.

  • hooorahh! im in a spot to support him. let me know how i can help. olozano.tool@yahoo.com

  • Congrats, he turned a killer into a state-sanctioned killer.

  • Yeah Im glad I joined i graduated yesterday OORAH!!!

  • @te908bd congrats devil..enjoy your training days

  • Ssgt. Nichols, you are an amazing man. You are living up to my lifelong experience of Marines, that they are rough and tough on the outside, and amazingly kind and giving men on the inside. My hat is off to you, sir.

  • I remember this guy. He was with C co. He was a Senior D.I. when I was a new hat. Him along with another D.I. named Sgt. Thompson were the 2 hats from C co. I looked up to because of there intensity. very professional.

  • Good job bro! Stay humble. The military does great things for ppl. Hope you make it big! Much thanks to your DI

  • Folks....listen up......

let's be careful what we say because it could be said about us.

    Literally.

    Let's be mindful

  • so he went from killing other people over drugs to killing people over oil?

  • Im guessing you have never been in the marines and don't know shit about what we do and in those 3 months to even earn that title that less than one precent of americans are proud to hold. He might have come from killing over drugs but he became a united states marine and fought and possibly killed to protect his brothers his fellow MARINES so you liberal pricks should shut the hell up and honor men who have served for our country and stand ready while you did nothing with you life

  • @paulllll come on man that's not cool

  • yea hes the one from ears open eyeballs click

  • That's the problem. He is a thief and he gets to be somebody.

  • Omg he's gorgeous

  • is that the drill sargeant from ears open eye ball click ? he looks so familiar

  • @chukieakenz217 yeah... it is

  • oorah! thats what i'm talking about. that's what my corps does to you

  • wtf i dont want scum of the earth in the military, let alone the marines who i thought uphold higher standards

  • @lsisoccer5 you're speaking my language. This is not right because people get denied every month who want to finish their education. The main problem in life is not giving up on people to quick but never giving qualified a people an actual chance in the first place.

  • @jhoward002 you don't know what your talking about. You don't know the exact details of it all, just cause you hear it in this speech, doesn't mean now, you're a qualified expert on the situation. I got into the Marine Corps legally. What the speech doesn't mention is how the police & probation department were trying to deliberately violate me even though I was already doing good & attending a private catholic university on a baseball scholarship. The process to get me in was completely"Legal".

  • Comment removed

  • @cfig24 People don't change over night & the Marine Corps with DI's like SSgt Nichols is the perfect solution to turn a boy into a Man and then a man into a Marine. You hear the words "attempted murder"&"many felonies" but you don't know the exact details of the charges. Police could arrest you tomorrow for "burglary" & charge you & then down the road the case gets dropped. Does that mean your a burglar? The point is, have an opinion but don't flat out assume that I wasn't qualified when I was.

  • @cfig24 Also one more update aside from the 2 messages below. This was filmed years ago. Since this speech, a lawyer was hired to clear my record. I've have had plenty of jobs and jobs offers since, including a couple government positions. Also, I have almost completed my MBA, started up a business, I'm authoring two motivational books and I have been criminal free for years. We are actually in the process of writing a pitch to turn my story into a movie, so stay tuned and God Bless.

  • @cfig24 This is why I had to apologize to you. This is good. The guy said something about not giving up on people. This is what they do in the civilian world so you have something great. You truly are blessed.

  • @cfig24

yo fig this is stephen greene i was in bootcamp with you. I cant believe you're doin so good. Its Good you stay in contact with Nichols. He was a BEAST LOL And you were a bad ass i remeber that. I also remember on our last weekend they took you in the duty hut and wrapped your underwaer around your head. that was some funny shit. Glad to hear your doing good my dudu.

    semper fi

  • @jaml85 thats not all they did in that duty hut hahaha. That was hilarious. They out numbered me and thats the only way they could win haha.

  • @cfig24

yeah nichos tried to put me in there but SDI collins told nichos to stall me out. I know they was fuckin people up in there. we all heard it!!!

  • @cfig24 : I hope they do make your life a movie. I think it would make a great movie. Congratulations for seeing your value like your drill sergeants did.

  • @dmr868 Respectfully, only Non-comissioned offcers in the United States Army who train Army recruits are called Drill Sergeants. Marine Corps NCOs who train Marine recruits are called Drill Instructors. The Air Force has Military Training Instructors, the Coast Guard has Company Commanders and the Navy has Recruit Division Commanders.

  • @cfig24

    Semper Fi Marine

  • @cfig24 Good for you brother, one never knows what you can achieve in life until we do it, I'm glad things are working out for you.

  • @cfig24 I apologize, regardless of the case, my bad, I was wrong to judge. I really do not know about you or your situation. My bad.

  • Awesome story. I'm always bewildered when a person on the street can't join because of a criminal record, but a gang banger with felonies, drug dealing and attempted murder can join. How does that work?

  • @studpuppy69 Pretty sure it doesn't work, but a judge's decision can REALLY effect what goes on. Once you learn law, you'll see when they make something official, and in the record, it's quite difficult to turn that decision around, in legal grounds.

  • Oo-fucking-rah, stories like that motivate me and as a wannabe Marine Corps Recruiter I hope to someday change the life of a shit bag and make him a Marine!

  • nichols looks wy bigger in this vid than he does his DI uniform

  • this is ssgt nicholson?

  • @semperfisemperceler i believe so

  • @semperfisemperceler Yes. It's Nichols.

  • @rayjr62 oh alright, yea i saw him in ears open eyeballs clcik

  • Great Inspiration!

  • Woah, Staff Sergeant Nichols with hair! Awsome....

  • American rewards criminals like him.

Ray Lewis, Daunte Stallworth, Mychal Bell, etc.

    This is a problem.

You will "pick him up off of the ground" but you won't help a college kid have

    a career.

  • I met some good marines through my training. Iam in the Army , and i use to hear all kinds of people talking s****t about marines. I never said anything, Right on Marines, showing some love. Damn i wish the Army still had the discipline.

  • Must feel good knowing you've changed someones life like that.

  • This man is clearly a REAL human being. They make the best DIs. The world needs more people like him.

  • Is he one of the drill instructors from Ears Open Eyeballs Click? I watched that like 1000 times before I went to Boot Camp.

  • @jimb024 yea thats him

  • i like this drill instructor. his videos are good.

  • this inspires me to join the marines!. it looks like the marines have more discipline than the army

  • @JinKazama92 oh believe THEY DO

  • @JinKazama92 lol its no comparison, the Marines are the most disciplined branch of fighters by far.

  • @aow4321

Im totally convinced now! :D thanks for that. i'll definitely enlist someday

  • I didn't think a convicted felon could join the US military; maybe a special waiver from the judge? Hmmm

  • @PhatFarm60 - I'm confused how that works as well, but we had a guy in bootcamp that was in the same situation.

  • @PhatFarm60 he said that either marines or prison

  • "so i got this nasty little terd that ended up in my platoon, that was slim shady to the tenth power.." lol SSgt Nichols is awesome

  • 0:26 that'sone ultimatum, not two

  • @cellardoor199991 1) Go to prison 2) Join Marines

  • ssgt Nichols is a amazing individual and a even more amazing Marine. God bless him!

  • Is this SSgt Nichols?

  • wow i read this kinda out of text... i thought they meant like "turned around" haha

  • whats the update on Chris ?

  • it amazes me how this guy can get in and the good people who truly want to serve who arent thugs cant. weve got a messed up government

  • @imperialwizard837 Exactly, I can't join simply because I have a peanut allergy.

  • @wafflecushioned Sorry to hear that man

  • @semperfisemperceler I don't know for sure yet. I'm just assuming so. I'm still going to at least try and get in.

  • @wafflecushioned alright, good luck buddy

  • @imperialwizard837 trust me man its not about being a "thug" or not...alot of people are joining and due to this recession all the branches have become strict on who they let in their branches.this si supposed to be a story to prove to you how even the worst can change not for you too criticise them.i can join the marines since i have a misdeamenor but probably can join the army and if you have some sort of medical problem just keep your mouth shut so you can get in its your fault you told them

  • its interesting to see ssgt Nichols with hair

  • Looks like Michael Nichols.

  • how did he get in with all that

  • He looks like mark wahlberg. This asshole was my di too

  • A light bulb changes only when it wants to change.

    -Cpl USMC

  • tough crowd...

  • SSgt. Nichols with hair.......... whoa lol

  • Semper Fi...

Great actions taken by the DI...

    Best of the luck...

  • This is asbosule BS. It's impossible for a convicted felon to join the USMC.

  • @atucc2 Judges can have a lot of sway.

  • @atucc2 No...its not. The 2007-2009 era of recruiting was almost on all in. -Cpl Roberson 0121 USMC

  • @atucc2

    no, it possible

the judge gives you option of joining USMC if you're lucky with your trials, someone from last year's 2nd BN MCRD platoon had a convict which turned his life around

  • haha SSGT Nichols looks different with a full head of hair!

  • was this guy on Ears, Open. Eyeballs, Click. ?

  • look if you dont realize it this ssgt is the r. lee ermey of the 2000,s. hes not the only di in fact in an interview he said he never even wanted cameras on him but it was the brass that made the call.

  • in response to all you people crying over this. if you didnt earn that ega. shut your mouths. you may not realize it but this ssgt is the r. lee ermey of the 2000's

  • Thats awesome...

  • is that the drill sergent from ears open eye balls click ?? because he looks so familiar for some reason

  • @chukieakenz217

    Yeah, he's Ssgt. Nicohls.

  • He was my first hat in 2002 and I can tell you first had that this dude is genuine and will kick your ass. Great to see you again SSGT!

  • is that SSgt Nichols from the "ears, open...eye balls, click"??

also the military wont take anyone with that courtroom deal. "go to jail or the military"

  • OOHRAH MARINES!!! The marines are a family wont forget about anyone!

  • Marine boot camp and the Marine way of life does change a person's life.... I was an 0311 Rifleman back in the 80's and I'd probably be in prison if I didn't make the decision to join... I'm preparing myself for retirement now with a future career from my MOS..... "Thats all I got to say about that"

  • Marines never give up- damn right. Damn right. Think not of what you were or are, but what you can become.

  • if he got the nerve and can steal cookies and SDI's cell from the DIs hut successfully, he already got my mad props

  • Man, my training company's SDI woulda crucified without nails the poor sumbitch who stole his cookies. Mad props from me to that guy, too. Goddamn.

  • @hairypotter1234 HAHAHAHA

  • I recognize this Marine. He was a Drill Instructor in one of our sister platoons at MCRD San Diego. I was with Echo Co. Plt. 2111 back in 1999

  • Check out the video response to this; it's the actual marine this DI's talking about.

  • Kid is facing 3yrs. Kid tells judge he wants to change his life and join the Marine Corps. Judge gives kid a month to sign up. Kid signs up. Judge drops all charges for quote on quote "Good Behavior" This is how a judge can work around the law to let someone of to go the military.

  • @cfig24 at least he changed his life around. good for him. if he went to prison he would still be going down the wrong path

  • I agree with you I am him. This video is about me .

  • Heres one.

A kid is on his last month of probahtion facing 3 violations. He's an attempt murder suspect. Detectives folllow him. He's charged with violating for pety stuff cause they dont have enuf evidence to convict him on the attempt murder.... (read above)

  • Judges are legally not allowed to let people off on a sentence in an exchange for joining the military BUT... THERE ARE WAYS AROUND IT. If u want an example let me know.

  • Yeah, I'd love to hear it. personally I think judges should have this option.

  • @mothafraker I posted an example of how a judge worked around the legal system to help me join the Marine Corps. It in my above comments.

  • judges still can and do give troublemakers military ultimatums.

  • @dmellow45 First of all are u a Marine? Second of all were you a DI? If not, than I'm not even going to elaborate. As far as the speech he gives about the

Marine to Gangbanger he's talking about me. The exact details of how the judge worked around the legal system are not mentioned, but yes it happened.

  • OOHRAH AND Semper Fi

  • @dmellow who u calling a punk ass? Im not one to talk crap on the internet and I'm definetly not the type of Marine that would disrepect another Marine over their success. But u should Watch how talk, or in this case watch what you type. There's no reason to be jealous or envious we're all Marines.

  • who was talkin shit bout that beloved core!

  • its not jealousy or envy, its just how is this guy taking the spotlight and saying he turned around a gangsta to a MARINE...first off i dont believe that the judge gave him that option, thats old corps stuff..

second off, all im saying is what about all the other dis who made lets say a ...medal of honor vet? this guy was just doin his job, but now hes an icon...why?

  • so is ssgt nichols out now or what? freakin' record producer now?

  • yes sir he was out in 07

  • I like this video. I also love what this guy is saying with regards to giving up on people. So very true. The key to society. How it views and supports it's people.

  • is that sdi ssgt nichols?

    hmm

  • Yeah it is haha.

  • glad hes such a hero now, all becuz he filmed his platoons goin thru bootcamp, like noone else been there or something.

  • I would say any Marine is a hero...
