I have never gone past there again since that last game and I don't think I could bear to now. RIP Flanny. I was there for your last pitch... one for the ages.
I honor every brick in that pile of rubble. The new ballparks are great, and Camden Yards is the model for all the new ones since, but a more glorious place I will never see in my lifetime again.
I remember hearing they were going to leave the big saying up. I was surprised driving through a year or two ago and seeing nothing but new buildings there.
I'm really P.O.'d they didn't leave something standing from the park. It was a war memorial... they even tore down the center section with the text that read "TIME WILL NOT DIM THE GLORY OF THEIR DEEDS." Time hasn't, but BS Baltimore politics sure did. O'Malley is a a complete ass.
You are so right. They don't give a damn about you or me until it's time to get re-elected. The S.O.B.'s aren't worth the time of day let alone my vote. The building may be gone into dust and rubble, but the memories of that grand old stadium will never die.
