This is wonderful! I did not realize that Handel wrote music to Te Deum. In English no less! By far my favorite version of this song.

Thank-you for the chance to hear that piece. In 50 years of listening to Handel,I've never before heard this. Is this the same as the Funeral Ode on the Occasion of the Death of Queen Caroline [ 1737 ] ? I think it must be. The book,the text, seems to be very close to that of the Dettingen Te Deum [ 1743 ] . Nice to have a chance to hear some Handel that I've never before heard.

@a1b2y25z26 Glad you like it! It is nicely concise and festive. As for Queen Caroline, it's the same queen, but a different piece. The words are (or should be) identical to those of the Dettingen Te Deum. The Te Deum is a standard liturgical text, so any piece with that title will have the same words (allowing for historical idiom). I think this is a dandy piece which should be heard more often!
