Makes me remember those little lion things who kept saying "Laguna! Laguna!" as in if they were in pokemon, they'd have to be called Lagunas. I cant remember why they like Laguna or something. Heh, Laguna, Kiros & Ward were some of the real fun I had with this game. I loved this tune when I saw those 3 for the first time. Most people hate FF8 but I have a soft spot for it. Button Mashing the Square button through Summon sequnces for example :P

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, of course. The frustrating thing is that VII has some fanatical obsessors who refuse to accept this, and who try to shove the game in every hole you have. It's enough to make a game that I felt was "meh" shift to the "hatred" level. But this isn't the time or place for me to go off on a rant. YES!! I love this song, when I first heard it this instantly became the coolest battle theme ever for me. The music in this game is fantastic and this song alone is one of the main reasons I bought the sound track back in 2000 a year after the game came out. Final Fantasy 8 is misunderstood, in my opinion. It's not about sorceresses, time travel or even love. It's about a battered, bitter and introverted boy named Squall learning how to make himself vulnerable again. And it's extremely well done.

I hated it when I first played it as 15-year-old because I was expecting another Final Fantasy 7. Only when I played it 10 years later did I realize the brilliance of it.

It's now my favorite Final Fantasy.
