  • v helpful!

  • I'm really happy. A great thanks.

  • Thank you so much

  • Very useful am off to the garage to do it now.

  • how do you remove a bike with disc brakes on?

  • I'm really confused. When you get a flat is it because of the inner tube or the tire or both? How can you know whick one it is? How to I know the size of the wheel and inner tube? Please help. Also are their any tires that are super thick that don't puncture easily? Thanks

  • thank you. I was having trouble with the tire being in the wrong place. the tire would wobble and ride into the brake pads. is there a way i can fix that?

  • help I cant re install the wheel into the complex chain device and into the frame. it looks way too complicated

  • This tutorial is superb and so is the other one that shows how to repair a flat. I learned a lot, thanks.

  • Excellent video! Could you make a video showing how to destroy an old Schwinn Collegiate? Like maybe setting it on fire or throwing it off of a cliff? I would say run a car into it but it weighs close to 400 pounds so I wouldn't want to damage the car.

  • can you make a vid showing u how to put the inner tub in

  • very detailed and useful video, thanks

  • My wife thanks you.

  • I sure as heck didn't have a "quick release" back tire lol.

  • what if you have disk brakes?

  • My brakes don't look like any of those!

  • you have to be fucking retarded to not know how to take off ur wheel if it has those releases...

  • @nadskofhqwak Do you have to be that rude and call people "retarded". So disrespectful. You know not everyone has taken a wheel off before therefore not everybody is going to know how.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx yea your probably right. i think i'll upload a video on how to microwave stuff. or maybe how to use toilet paper. i guess these things aren't so obvious for most people

  • @nadskofhqwak Um okay I guess you don't get the point. Microwaving and using toilet paper is an everyday thing, changing bike tired isn't something people do ALL the time. There are different parts on bikes and some bikes are different and than others and not all people are automatically going to know exactly what to do (like you must). And you aren't just popping the quick release either.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx i cant see how someone could just not figure out those quick releases... fiddling with it would inevitably lead even a chimpanzee to get the tire off...

  • @nadskofhqwak Well that's your opinion. I figured out about the quick release on my own even though it was stuck and I had to use a hammer but I wasn't sure about the v brake like other people aren't sure what to do with the brakes but yeah I guess us people are all idiots. Yes a chimp probably could get the tire off because they're smarter than humans anyway.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx i disagree. their most advanced tool is a stick

  • I don't have a quick release either but I experimented and I just had to use a socket wrench and wrench to unscrew on both sides simultaneously...

  • its all good, but i dont have a quick release leaver or any of those brakes types :P teach me how without a quickrelease leaver!!!!! >:0

  • The quick release is not opening. Something wrong with my quick release?

  • THANK YOU I LOVE U FOR THIS!!!!!!!!

  • Nice!

  • Excellent tutorial

  • how can i remove a wheel with hydrolic brakes on?

  • Excellent instructions

  • my dog popped both of my tires

  • fantastic video. amazingly detailed and direct to the point. just what i needed.

  • Excellent tutorial - clear and concise for quick release wheels.

  • i fixed a flat and when i put the rear wheel back on i can't peddle forward. help!!

  • Great video it helps a lot but that urkalurlea guy below me does have a point

  • Serious question: You do realize that there are quite a few people in the world who own older bikes that don't have quick release levers, don't you? I would think those are the people who need help the most rather than the ones who just need to pop a lever to take the wheel off.

Do you loosen both nuts? Do you need two wrenches? Do you take them all the way off?

Why don't you make a video showing how to remove a wheel WITHOUT a quick release lever?

  • oh god im going to fail horribly at this

  • hope no thevies watched this

  • Excellent! This is the 3rd, clearest and easiest to understand video I have seen so far. I like how you covered the three different types of brakes. Thanks for posting

  • Wow, these are great videos. Thanks for taking the time. The lighting is excellent and the camera is close enough to the action to actually see what you are talking about, easy learning here.

  • thank you for the video.

  • I need help. I don't have a quick release lever. My bike has two bolts. One on each side. I can't seem to make the wheel come off. Please help me.

  • @ultraelite9 I'm having the same problem...

  • amazing!! Thanks alot , with your video i just removed my wheel and reinstalled it back up without any problems :)

  • i have an bike with cantilever brake

  • Great vid

  • seriously, if you dunno how to do that, you should'nt have a bicycle....

  • Yes. You will have to release the brake cable by loosening the anchor bolt.

  • My bike does not have a quick release, I looked high and low. So should I be removing the gear cable which is on the same side as the cassette? I removed the bolt opposite of the cassette which was easy. However the other bolt is not giving anyway. What should I do getting so frustrated.

  • Awesome instructional video! I was wondering how to move the breaks away from the tire. Now I know.

  • Thanks very much for this! I fixed my first flat ever tonight and this video made it very easy. I have and older bike so I had no quick release lever for the rear wheel but all I had to do was unscrew the nuts from either side and the wheel came off. Putting the wheel back was a bit tricky only because it needed to be aligned properly but screwing the nuts back simultaneously (a little on one side, a little on the other) worked just fine. Awesome post, thank you!

  • Great Lesson!

  • thank you!

  • Nice i learn ed a lot

  • Great lesson, thanks!

  • Before today I hadn't changed a bicycle tire tube since I was a kid, probably 25 years ago. Back then I had a single speed without hand brakes. I was just going to pay someone to fix the used 21-speed I was given, because the rear wheel setup was unfamiliar. But with your help I did it myself with no problems. Learned something and saved money. Thank you!

  • you are a good teacher

  • My bike is old. It has a side-pull brake with an anchor bolt... no fancy quick-release levers. As far as I know, this is the most common type of brake on a bike (unless you have a brand new fancy bike), yet I have found no instructions anywhere on how to release this kind of brake. Do I have to loosen the anchor bolt with pliers and actually remove the cable from it?

  • Some bikes have the quick release lever near the brake lever, so be sure to check there. Some older bikes have road brakes that do not have a quick release lever to move the brake arms apart. If this is the case, you will have to let air out of the tire to squeeze the tire past the brakes. Then wait to re-inflate the tire until you have the wheel back on the bicycle. Although it seems like a lot of work, it's easier than releasing the brake cable and readjusting it when you put the wheel on.

  • Thanks for your reply! I haven't attempted it yet, but I will.

  • I have a 1984 Peugeot road bike. Its back brake fits none of these descriptions. There is no lever like in the road bike example you gave. Do you have any tips?

  • Amazingly detailed, bright lighting, clear close-ups, concise instructions, I can't ask for anything more, thanks for sharing.

  • Nice job explaining the different type of breakes and how to disengage them. Well done!

  • is the first time that i do by my self

  • thanky very much!

  • Thank you so much! I removed both my bike wheels so that I could fit it into my car, and then I realized that I had no idea how to get the back wheel back on.

  • Thank you!

  • thanks soo much

  • Excellent video, but I didn't get the "recenter" part at 2:05. What exactly is he doing there?

  • Looks like he just jiggled it a bit, no tightening adjustment.

  • thanks a lot man !!!!!!!!!

it helped me a lot . the best video ever - keep on doing it, it's great

  • Wow, execellent video. After watching this, it gave me confidence to work on my bike.

  • This is a PERFECT no-nonsense how-to video. Despite the apparent simplicity of both the procedure and the video's composition and content, it's as clear, consise and understandable as a how-to video can be.

  • Perfectly concise and told me exactly what I needed. Why can't all YT videos be like this?

  • This is one of the best wheel removal videos I've seen on youtube. Thank you

  • Thank you so much! What a brilliantly clear video. My bike maintainance knowledge is zero and when I had a puncutre fixed the shop clearly didn't put my wheel on properly as my left caliper is rubbing the wheel. Now I can't wait til morning for it to be light so I can fix it!

  • I never realised it was so easy. I noticed when my brake block was dragging onto the wheel, before watching this video, instead of loosening it, i instead broke the whole brake, and now have to get it refixed.

  • Clearest and most accurate film on Youtube. Sadly, I won't buy from your shop (living in London) but best of luck to all Atlanta cyclists.

  • thank you everyone should give u 5* for this

  • Thank you for a very carefully made helpful video!:-)))

  • Thanks, this helped a lot.

  • haha u retards cant take a wheel of haha

  • haha u retard can't spell "off" haha

  • haha u have to make fun of other people to make yourself feel better.

  • Thank you!

  • You can hang a bike up with bungee cables, i hang mine from my garage door track.

  • Damn I need to get a bike stand/holder. Looks like it makes repairs much easier. Thanks.
