Today, it remains a majority Kurdish city even after having endured decades of Arabisation and ethnic cleansing of Kurds from the area. Even the word Kirkuk is Kurdish. The Arab terrorists are attacking because they want to ensure through violence that a referendum does not happen that is earmarked to return Kirkuk to Kurdistan. Do some research before you show up your ignorance.
