I like M7 and almost purchased a bottle years ago, good to hear the reformulation is just as good and still around. Will have to find some M7 now.

Would like to see a vid on Katie/Katy's personal fragrance collection and her favorites, with *your* comments on *her* faves. People wear whatever women-unisex-men's fragrances they like today so don't be afraid to include scents across the board and not just stereotypically "feminine".

body kouros lasts way longer , but for the first 1 hour it can give you a headache and then it becomes wonderful, a very incensy nag champa kind of smell . The reformulated M7 is nothing like the old one, weak longevity

When you sniff the nozzle/sprayer, you're actually smelling the drydown NOT the scent "right out of the bottle".

M7 smells quite different from out of the bottle and the drydown. Every fragrance I own smells more of the top notes than the base notes

I would really appreciate your opinion (and your girl's obviously) on Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne. I've been using UV for about 4 years now and absolutely adore it. I also like Dior Homme Intense.

Actually the older version is waaaay strong and has a lot of agarwood , new one is more metallic smelling, agarwood is very faint . Reformulated is no way as near long lasting as the original. Original M7 is a beast , the new one is a tamed farm animal.

OH YES there is a difference , the original one is maroon all over and on the sides, the new one has clear sides , and lacks the agarwood note , it has a more metallic smell. I ordered one initially of ebay , it was the new formulation and its no where as strong as the original . Original lasts forever , new one i got barely 2 hours on my skin. You can find old testers or bottles.

yes there is Montale Black Aoud , Ungaro III ( called the Vampire's Cologne) , but personally I find the Montale Aoud's the best they are expensive but are very strong and amazing , here is the basenotes review for it

Yatagan is a very dry pine kind of fragrance its nice but something a man in his 50s would where . L'artisan series tend to be good , Montale Aouds are the best

@ramboram03 im getting black aoud from montale. its a hard to find one. im also looking for vintage m7, but in most places they say the new one is the same formula...im not sure about that one

old m7 is very different from new m7 , the new one doesnt last more than 1 hour , it is hard to find old ones , I got testers for it, but honestly if your getting black aoud you wont really need M7, black aoud is pretty much the mothership, in terms of oud fragrances

@ramboram03 i got one bottle of the old stuff today. From the bottle smells different. The new one starts too strong. The old one dries down faster and smells sweeter after a few hours when the new one is already gone. some people say its not the same but not everyone can notice it. im getting the black aoud one soon anyway. thanks for the info.

black aoud is a very manly fragrance , for girls I would say 88 czech is more suitable , but black aoud is a monster , if you have it already you will know. To a western nose , the smell can be off putting because its something so different typically used in the Indo-Arabic world of perfumery.

I've had this scent for a few months, and it's become one of my favourites. I don't get sweetness on my skin, and as you say, there's no scent like it. Used with restraint, I find it can be used at work as well...a good thing, since I'm a private language tutor and most of my clients are women. Nice review, btw , and quite succinctly put :)

I went to the fragrance shop and I've tried this M7 the full coated maroon, on my skin and I was expecting for a scent that is very earthy, woody, with tobaco, and a very mature masculine secent but sadly, that's not what I smelled on M7 and I was a little disappointed because it smells like a really old person for me and the dry part is a very powdery scent which I hate the most, and i hate fragrances that drys down with a powdery scent. Same thing for La Nuit De L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

M7 can almost be considered unisex. It's a sweeter cherry-like oud scent with woody earthy notes and rosemary with a powdery background. You'd probably like Burberry London.

The vintage M7 is an all maroon bottle, the new reformulated version has one side that is colored.

On a side note, I nor anyone else I've talked to has been able to tella difference in scent from the vintage and new version unlike some reformulated fragrances, so that's good news.
