  • I just love him... sence I was 12 or 13.. He is great! LOVE DAVID

  • Come david,fuck me.

  • "I drop me T's sometimes"

  • ALL of The Spiders from Mars are incredibly talented and underrated. Just watch their last performance. They are immensely apt at their craft. Can't be said about today's music at all.

  • this song is about kids after a nuclear holocaust who watch old movies in the drive in movie theatres to learn how to have sex. if you listen to the lyrics youll get it.another amazing idea by bowie

  • @nicosgun1 I always loved how Bowie took seemingly simple ideas and created a wildly inventive theme in it, a la Lovecraft, Huxley, etc. I am not stating anything we all don't already know, just saying how much I admire his creativeness.

  • intimateness, heaven, minds of a supposed heaven,yr music is heaven on earth, thanks david. wonderfull, since 35 years

  • This has to be my all time favourite Bowie song.I still get goose pimples even now when he sing "his name was always buddie" (with the word buddie said very powerful ) fantastic hope it still gives me goose pimples in another 30 years

  • beatiful!!!!

  • I JUST GOT IT...I have alwasy thought bowie looks like a well known australian....PAULINE HANSON!!! lol I cant see him the same anymore XP

  • David never fails to bring a smile to my face =)

  • glamorous star and magnific music!

  • i love taht story at teh beginning.

  • the fucking white duke

  • great song.what a great voice.dave could really hit high notes then.beautiful. hes still got a superb recognisable voice lower in pitch now of course.david make a new album guvnor pls!

  • what a great voice though, bit weird when interviewed but added to his mystique, bear in he was heavy into the coke and other stuff back in the 70s

  • @TheChronaholic Prince is much cooler than Bowie.

  • I am a mad Bowie fan of this era (was at the last Ziggy Concert in July '73) BUT he was always a massive disappointment when interviewed. It was really one area that for all his characterisation he never cotton'd on that he should have NEVER given interviews and perpetuated the myth is silence...

  • @snotmale i love his interviews. he's honest, but still vague enough to leave it up to teh listener.

  • David is original....some people do not or will not ever come close to living anything resembling a authentic life. ...they are copy cats of a madison street, edward Bernays reverse television psy-op....drones at best.

  • @TheChronaholic lol!!!!!

  • I would love to get it on with you :)

  • Hi ! I have a DVD where there's this interview, and I didn't watched it since a long time. It's this video that made me want to watch it again, and I had saw when he's talking about the letters he receives, when he "can't talk about the sexy letters he receives ; "Heavy"...", so thanks for sharing this video. I have 3 DVDs of D.Bowie, and some songs are even not on youtube. If someone explains me how to take just a song from a DVD & put it here, I would do it, I think it would be interesting.BYE

  • get help son,, !!

  • @spadge321 :Thanks for that answer, ...DAD !

  • @lorenzino1 What is the name of that DVD? I want to try and find it somewhere, especially because of this interview, he was so sweet here but also very smart with this nosy TV host :)

  • Thank you for this. WoW! I became a Bowie devotee at that time, at age 13. Bowie's classics never sound dated. It's so nice of you to put this up. After 10 years of being ridiculed by my daughter when I play, Moonage Daydream; at 19, she FINALLY gets Bowie. She has lyrics to it on her fb, hell yeah! What's not to love about Bowie and Ronson?!!! They were one of the best combos evah!

  • @ode2joy4u that must be the most rewarding feeling ever!

  • 名曲。盛り上がる所がいい。

  • OK who else hates the hideous purple frame? What would have been wrong with a normal look?

  • @FriedEggsandChips Would have been normal. I don't think normality makes any sense at all, do you?

  • @AeJstyle Look dude, I wasn't discussing philosophy, I was making a comment on the aesthetic of the video, which is NAFF. What's with the poncy purple frame? A full-frame view of Bowie's performance would have looked far better, not to mention bigger.

  • @FriedEggsandChips Haha, I made some messing here. I got your comment in the wrong way (probably because I was seeing two versions of this video at the time, one that didn't have the purple frame). Sorry, I agree with you, now that I understand you. >.<

  • "Heavy Duty"

  • no wonder the Who beat Russell Harty up! Bowie's image here is embarrassing today, although his music is still great, especially this song imho

  • who's the poof at the start........?

  • @krasnyploshad David Bowie pukes at your homophobia.

  • ella esta caliente no olvides apagar la luz jaja bowie eres un chingon

  • "Heavy dewey?"

  • please , someone who want to subtitle the interview in italian. pleeease

    thanks

  • The greatest rock star ever. music lyrics delivery - untouchable

  • i'd fucken love david bowie everytime i see his movie the labyrinth it take's me back to when i was a little gurl love you david bowie

  • BUDDY!!!! <3

  • @modbeatlefan Ha! I was thinking the same thing. He really juices that first "BUDDY!"

  • Absolutely TERRIBLE lighting. GET RONSON OUT OF THE SHADOWS! Brilliant arranger, producer, guitar player, singer - this era would never have been so good without him.

  • David made Jekyll and Hyde appear "normal", with his multi personas..........

  • @eggflipsupreme

    LOL so true though.

  • I wish I could hear him attempt an american accent

  • Not foam, phone...At least he's singing live - he cocks up the first verse

  • @meursault48 it's impossible for david bowie to cock anything up.

  • @meursault48 He said phone, if you look at his mouth as he says it, you can tell...plus everytihng Bowie does is intentional, he 'cocks up' nothing.

  • @AbstractZygodactyl No one looked like that then. It was just before the Bowie look a likes. Neither man nor woman, translucent skin, no eyebrows and that hair. He gave the earring to Russell at the end of the show. All best, Zil

  • @meursault48

when he sings 'Jagger stared in people's eyes' rather than 'people stared in Jagger's eyes' right?

  • cocaine starts to rear its' ugly head

    Ronno is God!

  • 'pour me out another foam ' future perfect.

The best stuff comes from when you hardly know what you are doing, like Michael Caine, they both had brothers who were put in 'mental' institutions. strange, but true.

    Great shoes, by the way.

  • 'pour me out another foam ' future perfect.

The best stuff comes from when you hardly know what you are doing, like Michael Caine, they both had brothers who were put in 'mental' institutions. strange, but true.

  • Fabulous!!!

  • he looks like The Joker during the interview

  • i think i listened to this song about 30 times

today. it reminds me of making out at the movies

    in the very back rows.

    good times

    good times.

  • ee mother is that a boy or a girl

  • This is the best rock & roll!!!

  • Greatness

  • ahhh to some greatness comes natural ;-) xx

  • he looks like a zombie lol but still hes amazing

  • To think what Mott the Hoople would have done to this if they didn't turn it down. I bet Bowie could have made 20 bands famous by writing for them....so diverse, so immensely talented.

  • 8 spoked saturn worshiper...wonder if he knows it?

  • Until this Look he is Cool... after that I think he lost some originality..just some. :D!

    Ziggy Times Rules!!

  • I remember watching this on top of the pops i think when I was a kid and I am sure there was a video for this song where there was a convertable car with a TV in it.

I remember thinking wow, a car with a tv in it! Im sure I didn't dream this!!

I loved this song ever since which is a good thing.

  • I do not know why an androgynous, bisexual man is so damn attractive!!

  • Right, didn't mean 70's, sorry bout the typo.

  • Hard to believe Bowies in his 70's.

  • He's not!

He was born on 8th Jan 47, which makes him 63.

  • Bowie is a master! He s unique,he s extremely gorgeous in this performances.I love this look,i love men wearing feminine wierd clothes.Dave is simply adorable!

  • "I'm sure you noticed ... just. the one. earring. he was wearing..."

    XD

  • @violingnome

i know rite! wow one ear ring such a big deal! lol

  • Bowie broke so many taboos and tore down so many barriers - this was another - a live appearance on a mainstream TV chat evening chatshow galmmed-up to the eyeballs ....... and of course an excellent track to give the whole thing credibility!

  • Love this song, so ethereal!

  • russel harty got punched in the face once lol i dont remember who though

  • @Benzer3 Grace Jones I think

  • <3 <3 <3 <3

  • steelyman08..the interviewer here was Russel Harty...being a gay man himself he would not have been hiding his face tbh...he would have been pretty comfoftable in Bowies company...it's just that this show went out before the idea of a "watershed" time. :))

  • beautiful

  • awesome performance- great video! :)

  • Bloody wonderful!! And then comes the "other-world" interviewer who doesn't quite know what to do with his face, and appears to need a translator.

    Love it!

  • At his peak.

  • this is my favorite bowie and this video is fucking awesome! thanx for it......

  • "...I'm sure you noticed just the one earring he was wearing, and that startled quite a lot of people who watched the program..."

    LOL

  • hahaha BdALpye....made me laugh too :))

  • so funny how he responds to the applause at the end. Doing the whole "oh really it was nothing!" and the"oh, Me?" thing. ahaha great....

  • I think so, too. He ismy hero:) <3

  • I'm in love with David Bowie =)

  • jagger did stare in bowies eyes and scored then.lucky bugger.

  • Brilliant - the 'cracked actor' at his best! Icon of the 70s

  • lol, u seem to be going round vids sticking up for ronno, bolder and woody. almost 40 years later and i think its amazing people are sticking up to one of the great injustices in the world. good

  • seen him over 30 times, met him twice..a wonderful person..because of Dave I published my children's book and from there I have had a wonderful, diverse life...Love onn ya Dave! xx00

  • I wish I was you

  • Yeh, agree with you. Think Bowie owes a lot to Mick, especially, but not to forget Woody n Trevor. Bowie did fantastic lyrics though. You make a good point.

  • HE IS PERFECT!!!!!

  • Wonderful footage

  • Comment removed

  • It has the lyrics changed!! I've just realizaed. He says "when Jagger stared in people's eyes". Then you can see his smiley face, hehe.

What a great song. What a great video... Much cannot be said about it.

  • where's the my death song from this show ?

  • He's so beautiful.

  • Beyond wonderful. Bowie's most underrated song ever. Absolutely wonderful.

  • Bowies best look ever??

  • Words cannot possibly do this justice!!!

  • He was still finding himself. He didn't like answering questions because he didn't know who he was yet.. so he made up things on the spot, like the accent thing, that was probably off the top of his head because his parents had accents from yorkshire and lancaster. He didn't like this man very much.

    Love you David

  • yumm :)

he aged but hes never stopped being gorgeous loool

great song love the little interview at the end :)

    luvsxxx

    sophia

  • Wonderful. What a treat!

  • Surely his best version. What must Russell Harty have thought? Possibly "will you sleep with me David?"?

  • finally i found it!!! ive been looking for it for ages after the movie: Control about Ian Curtis:)
