If you build a house for 100K and sell it for 125K you just created 25K in wealth from nothing. Govt cannot do this.

The only democracy I can think of after the Athenians would be the Romans, but it was very corrupted and lasted around 100-200 years. @wargarurumon ..... Liberal thinking again. When a govt employee gets paid they receive tax money from other people. This is nothing more than distributing wealth. It doesn't and cannot create wealth. Wealth can only be created in the private sector. So there is no loss in cutting govt jobs, especially if they are not needed in the 1st place as this is just a tax burden. If you build a house for 100K and sell it for 125K you just created 25K in wealth from nothing. Govt cannot do this.

The only democracy I can think of after the Athenians would be the Romans, but it was very corrupted and lasted around 100-200 years. After that you really had to wait 1600-1700 years for democracy to be reborn. American democracy only extends from the enlightenment period. "Social and govt interference" is a misinterpretation of what liberals stand for today...
