Hi there's anyone kbow how to put my calendar day in order we are in 2010 right but my is in 2000 how can i change that and put it in the correct year please can some body help me out THANKS!
On the iPhone calendar prog you can click the button that says, "Today," and it will bring you to the right date. If it still says a different date, you need to adjust the current date in Settings app/date and time/ and then click set automatically.
Hi, from Norway! Like your review. Have you had any feedback on your double-click-the-time-of-day-to-add-appointment-function request? (sorry bout the hyphens there) Jan Martin

Thanks for the review. I'm looking to upgrade my smartphone (from my Samsung Blackjack) and I use the calendar (pardon the phrase) religiously. I don't think the iPhone would fit my needs, unfortunately.
Thanks. Like someone said; its the small apps like this, that you use everyday that is interesting. I was thinking about replacing my dell axim x51v for iphone since its a more complete device. I dont know though. The calendar is a feature i use all the time and its pretty awesome on windows mobile.
I have an iPhone too and the wheel selectors are really slow. Also in month view would be better if days with events were shaded in rather than just a dot underneath. Android and Palm Pre seem to have better calendars implemented
Also the audible alert is too quiet and cannot be customized :(
I agree. How can Apple create a calendar that does not provide a way to invite or receive invitations for meetings or events? Also, the sync with DotMac part of Mobile Me errors since the last update. It is not a big problem because the calendar never synced anyway.
Awesome! Too often people don't review these "little things" for products like phones, but it's the little things we use every day, and the little things for phones in particular that make a difference. Great look, I wish only you mentioned also how the ringtones work, can you change the noise made for certain appointments or are they just set as default?
On my old phone you could give certain types of appts. different sounds.
Another drawback to this app... the event repeat function is very limited. With the old Treo/Centro Palm software you can have your events repeat in unconventional ways. For example, at work we typically have meetings on the 2nd Wednesday or 1st Monday of every month. The iphone calendar sadly doesn't allow for this.
It's true...you can't do this directly on the iPhone itself, sadly. If I have to make unique appointments, I'll do it on my computer, and then it will correctly sync on my iPhone. Hopefully this will get resolved in a future update, though.
Can you sync your entourage contacts and calendar to iphone? I know there is a program called E2 sync, but i wondered if Apple had an application to download and use. Anyone finding it easier to use ical instead of entourage calendar with their iphone?
you made my day! I was afraid for buying the iPhone because i was not sure that the iCal will be as easy as it is on the MacBooks... but it seems it is even easier.
just want to add: even in iPhone 3G, the calendar is quite limited compared to palm treo. no todo list support! very important, no color coding for different category of events in the month view, limited repeat option (cant repeat like every 3rd week of the month, every weekdays, weekend, etc), cant move an event to another category once created. PDA power users beware of these. i just assumed it works like the desktop iCal but i was wrong and disappointed. thinking of going back to palm again.
As a fellow pastor, your review caught my eye. I've been using an HTC Universal PDA (WM 5.0) for a couple of years, but was thinking of going for a 16GB 3G iPhone next month.
Are you syncing this with a Mac or a PC? I will be using Outlook 2007 on a PC running Vista.
I just switched from a Treo 650 (because it died its final death) to the Iphone 3G with the latest 2.1. I really like 95% of the software on (and available) on the phone but the Calendar app is much slower to use that the Treo and there is no timed tasks app and, according the online reports from developers, the Apple SDK doesn't support programs running in the background so no one can write a todo app with alarms.
There are quite a few good todo apps for the Iphone but without alarms...
VEry good review. Straight to the point. That calender is one reason I am still holding to my palm 650. Once apple update to just click and type on time slot, I will switch.
So i wanted to give a quick response to some of the questions people have posted. 1
1. You can sync this with outlook. The apple website has directions on how to do so.
2. I'm really looking forward to the next apple update when Leopard comes out, because I'm hoping that it will make the calendar program for the iPhone a little better. I wish it had the same functionality as on the iCal program itself.
Great review. Thanks for posting it. I was getting a little frustrated with apple for not showing the feature. I'm a little disappointed...I expected that app to be a lot better.
So are you a pastor somewhere? I saw in your calendar that you had a few sermon days and prayer meetings. I'm in Kalamazoo, Michigan and I'm also a believer.
Thank you for this review, it's pretty interesting. One thing that the Calendar-app seems to lack is the ability to add events to a certain calendar, for example "work", "sports",... that kind of thing...
Nice review!

I wish it had a birthday function, where you enter a person's birthday and it shows you their actual age and notifies you of course.
Vitruviux 2 years ago
What you can do is create a birthday calendar and add an alarm to remind you however many days before you want. But the age thing would be sweet.
