  • great acting

  • That cheap cigarette hi-jacking mick!

  • Henry Hill made himself look soft in this movie when in real life he was just as brutal as the rest of them Tommy and Jimmy.

  • @MobHeataEnt

True. It needed to be done to create a sympathetic narrator. Let's face it if the real character of henry hill was in this movie our morality would have got in the way of entering most scenes.

  • That's how fast it takes for a guy to get whacked.

  • You Worry TOOO muCHHHH

  • Maury = Mr. Krabs

  • "you think morrie tells his wife everything, tells his wife everything"- jimmy two times.

  • LOL Jimmy's looking at Maury like ''YOUR'E A FUCKEN DEAD MAN!!!!''

  • I'd say every single scene is mastepiece, this is real acting! No fiction, no bullshit, this is fuckin' reality!

  • My favourite scene too actually one of many!! in this movie.

  • Damn you... now I have an overwhelming urge to ditch work and watch the whole movie :-) Too bad I'm too busy...

  • This is my favorite movie of all time. I can watch this everyday.

  • sound is fairly bad but i like this scene

  • Jimmy, he's like a snake watching a bird, ain't he?

  • CANT HANDLE..... THE ACTING!

  • hell yeah bro i love this scene

  • @mco119

I wouldn't say that you can compare GoodFellas and Scarface this way. GoodFellas is a film that shows you the real mob life and shocks you. Scarface is more like a comedy (although it is VERY voilent) with overacted and cartoon-like characters. GoodFellas is a very serious film.

Both films are masterpieces, but GoodFellas is the better one of course. But you can't say Scarface is bad, just because it's different. :)

  • @GodfatherCorleone77 i couldnt of put it better myself.

  • @GodfatherCorleone77

Except that Scarface depicted exactly how it went down in Miami in the 80's

  • @GodfatherCorleone77 Scarface is operatic camp brilliance. Goodfellas is The classic American straight realistic crime drama par excellence.

  • @GodfatherCorleone77 but the godfather is better than both i think!! although all great films!

  • 1:19 Liota misses the door.

  • @TheTrimby1973 well spotted..

  • @TheTrimby1973 I've never noticed that!

  • Awesome acting De Niro!

  • god why do folks call scarface a mobbster flick. Its a drug kingpin movie. Goodfellas and scarface nail the mob theme to a T.

  • Summer's gone, and all the roses die......

  • Scareface is a drug lord it's not a mafia movie

  • @Donnszelc same assholes different names

  • this is more than one scene obviously...but i agree 210 to 236 is master full

  • i want a cigarette now

  • @RockySeven7 fuckin that s how i fuckin feel too

  • As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...... ooooh boy i get chills everytime i here thosee words :D

  • best.movie.ever

  • Robert De niro's face XD 0:53

  • CRAP SONG

  • could you imagine if tommy really did get made and became a boss. that would be crazy.

  • this is fucking acting... no words needed

  • hes dealing with killers and he wants his money . HAAAAAAAAAA yea , there going to give it to you , theres the blcak bag!

  • I want to go play some GTA Vice City.

  • I don't understand the significance of playing Sunshine of Your Love by Cream in this clip by the director. The music has absolutely nothing to do with this storyline, other than this song coming out in the late '60s. But it makes no sense and I chide the director for easily copping to using such a tune to somehow further dramatize this scene when it wasn't necessary.

  • @cutis1000 in using music during a film, the words don't have to relate to what is going on. it's more about the sound of the music and the way it brings out a mood or a feeling that isn't nessecarilly being spoken. the lyrics shouldn't have to have a literal connection but should relate in some way. that is something a truly talented director like scorsese understands. i'd say take another look.

  • @samfilmkid Your response doesn't answer my question. I don' t see the connection between using SOYL and this scene. I don't even care about the lyrics. I'm talking about the song. It is a dance song. It is not a song for a backdrop where one guy is about to get killed. What kind of mood does this song bring out to you when you hear it just by itself? Do you want to kill someone? And juxtapose that song to a scene where someone is about to get whacked. Please explain.

  • @cutis1000 I'll answer, to me that song sounds kinda gassed up, which mirrors DeNiros charcaters emotions, he was gearing up to kill him. Killing takes aggression, and the song was aggressive. Basically what the mood of the song is saying in this scene is that.... 'Its oooon now.' Its written all over Deniro's face when he's smoking.

  • @Anoneverlast OK, thanks for your explanation. I stil don't agree with it but I appreciate you fleshing out the idea Deniro had in choosing this song as the backdrop for the killing.

  • This is an overrated film by an overrated director. I welcome the thumbs down to this remark.

  • @cutis1000 I'm not going to give you the satisfaction. You're still a huge faggot.

  • @Jiggleton Dude, please leave your homophobic remarks outside YouTube. They are not welcome here.

  • @cutis1000 uh have you ever seen this movie

  • @cutis1000 fuck off queer,bunch of queers.

  • @Jiggleton Don't be homophobic. It doesn't suit your personality.

  • @cutis1000 I'm not homophobic, you're just being a faggot.

    See Louis CK's "faggot" routine.

  • @Jiggleton

ahaha i love that skit, too true.

  • @Jiggleton No, you're being a jerk.

  • @cutis1000 I agree. I felt the same about Layla.

  • letmewatchthis.ch

    full movie here

  • This is why De Niro gets paid the big bucks. Telling us something without, saying a single word.

  • How's this movie do at the Oscars? Crime if it didn't clean up.

  • @bitterclinger100 Goodfellas lost Best Picture to Dances With Wolves. Can anybody seriously say ,even in hindsight, that "Dances" ages as well as Goodfellas.....Travesty..t

  • @mrbriscoe2001 Highway friggin' robbery.

  • @bitterclinger100 best actors in 'Dances" WERE the wolves...

  • De Niro should've have gotten an Oscar just for that stare at the end. It's like you can hear what he's thinking just with that stare -- brilliant acting w/out saying a single word.

  • Scarface is better especially if you snort blow and watch it...lol

  • Morrie never told his wife about his mob connections. :3

  • best scene from the best movie ever...

  • "That's how it happens. That's how fast it takes for a guy to get whacked."

Reading Wiseguy and watching this after is just so awesome. Amazing book followed up by a masterpiece of film.

  • Henry kinda looks like Vincent Chase from Entourage

  • I just smoked the best cigarette i ve ever had.

  • 2:11 - 2:33 Priceless

  • they're going to make hassiii for making such a good video

  • Man, I fucking love Goodfellas!

  • you worrie too much lol

  • Comment removed

  • HAHAHAHHA You worry to much! Joe Pesci then kisses Liotta LMFAO that was funny.

  • this scene ,makes me want to become both a monster and a smoker

  • @mozmex I agree... I think Carlito's Way is better than Scarface. Let me ask you which one is a better movie Goodfellas or Casino?

  • @Mr813Fla Casino

  • @tryandlisten I 2nd that

  • @Mr813Fla Good otherwise I'd have to get someone to whack you out, you Jew muddafucka you

  • @tryandlisten lmao

  • Instant classic! 3 of the greatest actors of all time in the greatest mob movie ever

  • "Motherf&$%#@$, we got'em now!"

  • 2.11 = The definition of BADASS.

  • @TheHockeyCentral How right you are! still gives me chills

  • YES THE ON JIMMY FACE!!!!

  • As much as I love this scene, I always laugh when Ray Liotta misses the door at 1:19

  • Scarface is fun to watch, but face it: the movie's extremely uneven and Al Pacino's role may be the worst case of overacting in history. I feel much more engaged watching Goodfellas, Godfather or Casino.

  • Jimmy was smart enough to know that Tommy was not "made man" material. Too bad he was blinded by love ( man love bay bee )

  • De Niro's face is the same in many other movies and scenes - film acting is not what people think...what you read into it is all down to staying still, staring, slowing down, and not blinking. Try it sometime - you might scare somebody...( with the right soundtrack. and lens)

  • 18 people didn't stop busting balls.

  • Seems like when people got made back then it actually ment something...

  • @themafia01 what are you talking about?

  • 18 people didnt get their money

  • 1:00 "Mada&%&$%@, we got 'em now!"

  • does anybody else hate ray liota's face?

  • @olivvrr I kind of know what you're talking about. But I only started to hate his face after he became addicted to cocaine. But yeah I see where you're coming from

  • "They opened up the books he got the okay" Classic line!

  • What am i? A schmuck on wheels?

  • I like earlier in the movie when Jimmy strangles Morrie with the phone chord and Henry starts to laugh...classic.

  • @zigzagbigbag ...What was even funnier about that particular scene was that as he was being strangled...his fucking wig comes off!! Even Ray Liotta busted up over that shit...fucking classic!

  • Ray Liotta is one of the BEST and MOST under rated actors in the biz. He would have been great in the Sopranos.

  • @bitterclinger100 You're right he's a great actor but I think having him in the Sopranos might not've worked. To have all the typecast mafia actors in the series like Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta and even Robert De Niro might've spoilt it. I know Frank Vincent was excellent and he's a great mafia character but any more might've been overkill. I dont know, just my opinion

  • @tryandlisten You may be right. I thought he would have been good as Tony's consiliari, Silvio. In Goodfellas he came across as more thoughtful, less impulsive, than the rest of his crew. But again, just a personal bias cause I'm a big Ray Liotta fan.

  • @bitterclinger100 nah sorry, no disrespect to Liotta but Steven Van Zandt was legendary in that role and I couldnt imagine anyone else playing Silvio. Problem with the Sopranos (not that it is really a problem) is that the show was so good that the main cast is hard to fault. I think it would've been good to throw in additional characters perhaps in cameos. Like Annette Bening did, she was great in that one episode

  • @tryandlisten You're probably right about Van Zandt. Just for fun I put different actors into the characters, for example, Tom Sizemore as Tony Soprano. Ray Liotta as Silvio, etc. I admit I have an unhealthy obsession with the Sopranos. Sizemore would've been good, except one thing: he ain't Italian. Gandolfini knows how to pronounce Italian words just right. I like Sizemore cause he looks tougher (to me) than Gandolfini, who's a bit oafish. Just my oppinion.

  • @bitterclinger100 LOL Good call about Tom Sizemore! I think towards the end that's how the directors and Gandolfini wanted Tony to appear, i.e. Overweight, his heavy wheezing/breathing, always eating. You probably noticed the character morphed from a relatively slim and almost playboy-like character to an overweight degenerate. It would be great to sit down and ask David Chase 20 questions, my first would be why the fuck he ended the show like that!

  • @tryandlisten How about Chazz Palimintari as Johnny Sac? I don't like the guy they used.

  • @bitterclinger100 i have to be honest i dont really see him as a serious actor. Apart from A Bronx Tale he hasn't really done any movies i liked or of note (including Analyse This). Vince Curatola really nailed that character well. Again I am biased towards anyone in the show coz I am such a huge fan of it, I personally cant fault any of the actors in it.

  • awesome scene

  • I love how much the young Henry represents the adult Henry.

  • he wasn't going to whack just Maury, but all of the people he owed money to. the heist was done and Jimmy had all the money after he kicked some upstairs to Pauly. I think what happened was he was pissed at having his balls busted by Maury so he could just kill Maury that way he doesn't have to pay him and he can keep the money. And so while he's at it he might as well kill Frenchy, Carbone, and everyone else who is entitled to a cut of the robbery money and just keep it all for himself.

  • 0:47 - 0:49 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • I wonder if it happened this way in real life...that they used the almost sacred ceremony of making someone as a reuss to whack them...if that's true and you are a mobster then you have to wonder if you are told that they are going to make you..."are they really going to make me? or are they going to whack me?"...it seems like to do that would almost be a desecration or an unwise use of the entire process of getting made...and yeah great no-dialouge scene, though. the best in cinematic history

  • @XxowendanxX my guess is...........no, no they didn't

  • @TheWackadooFuckhead they probably just did that to create a dramatic surprise...like you, the viewer, thinks that Tommy is getting this major promotion but instead they kill him...another thing, the voice over says that they shot Tommy in the face but in the movie they shot him in the back of the head...I guess he had exit wounds on his face??...but the voiceover contradicts what happened in the movie...but yeah they surprise you like they make you think Maury isn't getting whacked but he does.

  • @XxowendanxX yes, that is correct

  • @XxowendanxX Yes he likely had exit wounds in the face so there is no contradiction.

  • what is the song at 2:10???

  • @vmzkck913 the song is "Sunshine of your love" by Cream (Eric Clapton,Ginger Baker, & Jack Bruce)

  • I don't know if its just me but I knew that 'getting whacked or if someone is whack or is whacked" since I was little. (blame my father for showing me gangster flicks) XD The frustrating thing is, when people say "that shit is whack! Or he just got whacked!" I automatically think, did someone die?! XDDDD

  • @animallover70 "whack" is an old mafia term when a hit is put out on a person and they are going to kill him...they don't say kill him they say whack him...like whacking a weed or something...in the '70s or '80s black people starting saying that something is "wack" in the way that you might say something sucks..."crack is wack"...I think it came from the old use of the word "wacky" as being crazy...so "wack" means that something is stupid or it sucks...

  • What was Jimmy thinking and looking at when smoking? Killing the dude he owed money? Also what did he say at 2:43

  • @sh4p3shifter "Do you think Maury tells his wife everything?"

And of course he's thinking about killing the dude he owes money to. That dude is Maury, and Maury is breaking his balls about it. Maury is a nobody, and Deniro's character is a murdering mobster. Never, never break Robert Deniro's balls, especially if he's a murdering mobster.

  • it's a riff, not a solo, sir.

  • its gettin near dark baby. the reapers commin for your ass.

  • I couldn't agree more this is the best scene, second being Joe Pesci's how am I funny scene...the music just makes the moment...Martin Scorsese always knows the best music

  • in todays time who the hell is the mob going to open to books to? the albanians? the farm system is all but dried up...

  • De Niro is simply the best. What a moment this is! And what a great choice of music also.

  • This movie n the Godfather r my favorite movies!!! Both with Italian action.

  • First time I saw the movie, I really couldn't believe that Tommy get whacked

  • @Almas8787 I was sad that he died I liked him

  • despite this being an epic film henry hill is a fucking snitch,

  • why did they put so much mascara on henry hill....

  • LOL.. It's not in this scene, but my favorite line is "I had until 9 o'clock to convince Jimmy not to kill Maurie."

  • The chemistry among the 3 in this movie was fantastic. Especially like de niro and pesci in this scene. pesci, the director and the makeup people were fantastic. look at him at :48. It is perfect. he is happy and STILL comes across crazy.

  • Better than The Godfather! Yes it is... Yes... it is!

    Scorsese ftw!

  • "Morries wigs don't come off..." I love that shit!

  • Fuckin putz, where da fuck 'dey make that guy?

  • holy fucking shit thumbs up if u heard slash playing solo

  • There going to make him alright! make him dead. Dont walk on visquen. Yo shoe shine boy go get your fucken BOX!

  • HIS VOICE SOUNDS LIKE LEONARDO DICAPRIO'S

  • @TheHplover12 Quite or your going to get wacked!

  • Henry boy the pipes the pipes are calling hey sweetheart half mick half ginny i'll send one Italian accent and doubt the glin and down the mountain!

  • Morrie obviously never got his danish.

  • "Fuck him I want my money! That cheap cigarette hijackin' mick."

  • @darxyde00 Going to make that cock sucker! make him dead! yo shoe shine boy! gets wacked by the she shine boy.

  • De Niro's glance at Joe Pesci at 2:19 kills me!!

  • anybody know the name or band doin the real old doo wop tune at the beginning... right from 0:01 ? Havin a hard time findin it

  • Will Sasso makes a great Robert De Niro impersonation.

  • love the song sunshine of your love in the movie

  • my favorite too......his eyes said it all!thanks for the upload.every time i watch this movie i keep repeating this scene over and over again!

  • summer's gone, and all the roses darken

  • Morrie is the best funny gay

    great scene

    I love this movie

  • Mory is the best-great scene-i love this movie

  • Greatest movie of all time.. People always put Scarface ahead of this movie.. Scarface doesn't touch Goodfellas in my opinion!

  • @jeffernater

    It kinda depends..

Scarface is a awesome movie but It's all fictional.

Goodfellas on the other hand, is based on real events, and Henry Hill actually exist.

So in my opinion it's kinda hard to compare them since they're slightly diffrent.

  • @RedRiverChannel But Goodfellas itself is a glamourised movie. The lifestyle is told this way... and that is the basis of it's appeal as gangster movie.

  • @jeffernater

You're absolutely right. "Scarface" is just a fun, well-made mob movie..."Goodfellas" is a real masterpiece of film making. The two aren't even in the same league.

  • @mco119 No "Scarface" is a masterpiece, carried by a fantastic performance by Al Pacino. As you said, "Goodfellas" is a real masterpiece of film-making, it's like the real star of the film is Scorsese. "Goodfellas" in my personal Top 5, but I'm sure we can appreciate the film without diminishing the merit of "Scarface". They are in the same league,

  • @ElMaruecan82

Don't get me wrong, I do think "Scarface" is a good movie, and I agree that Pacino was fantastic in the lead role. However, I still would never call it a masterpiece; it's a fun, interesting, and well-done film, but I wouldn't go much further than that. Scorsese runs circles around a director like Brian De Palma, at least in my opinion. "Goodfellas" is the kind of film that actually could have won Best Picture/Director...I doubt that can be said of "Scarface."

    Just my opinion!

  • @mco119 Just your opinion ... and I respect it :-) No problem!

  • @ElMaruecan82

    Thanks, bud.

  • @mco119 And "The Godfather" is their father!

  • @mco119 Different films and feeling. You shouldn't compare them.

  • @IVomitOnYourGod

Ah, but I did! However, my comparison was actually a response to someone that was already comparing the two films (by claiming they were equals). Anyway, you don't need to compare them if you don't want to...but if you did, you'd probably be forced to admit the huge quality gap between the two:) Saying otherwise is like comparing "Unforgiven" to "Tombstone," at least in my opinion. Again, it's just my opinion.

  • @mco119 Funny, how?

You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

  • @Megarock16 Go get your fuckin shinebox xD lol

  • @TenouHaruka0 LOL "In the can I fucked kids likr that in de ass....in the ass I fucked 'em" LOLOLOLOL

  • @wildh0rse Fuckin' trying to break up MY party.
