  • No one talks about the break down of the starch requirements for digestion.

Everyone goes by taste and texture.

  • its frustrating getting decent results cooking brown rice, especially since directions seem to vary from brand to brand. The only thing that is the same is the ratio. Its usually always two cups of water to one cup of rice, although more water is probably required to cook the rice longer than 30 minutes. Then you have some methods that cook the rice partway and then let the pan remain on the burner for a period of time after turning off the heat.I`ve been using thai lady brand with good results

  • I do cook it with almost the same way in that video but I add lil Organic cold pressed sesame oil with sea salt.

just add them when the water reached the same level of the rice n let it cook.

  • wow this is a terrible video! first of all how many parts of water for parts of rice? second how do you tell from white and brown rice cuz that looks white to me??? and finally no seasoning??? wth???

  • @arnoldnavarro21

Hello. She mentioned a 2.5:1 water to rice ratio; others prefer 2.25:1 or 2:1 ratios. The difference between brown and white rice is that the latter has had more of the parts of the whole grain removed. Aside from checking what's on the packaging, white rice will look a lighter color compared to the darker shade that brown rice looks, both raw and cooked. The beauty of brown rice is that it shines on its own. Try adding a can of tuna and onion, vegetables or legumes. Yum!

  • She's cute.

  • THIS IS MY FIRST TIME COOKING BROWN RICE, I ONLY PERFECTED WHITE RICE 4 DAYS AGO AFTER PREPARING IT IN A STAINLESS STEEL POT AND RINSING THE RICE FIRST. UPDATE POST ON THE RESULT IN 40 MINUTES....WISH ME LUCK AND GOOD EATING :-)

  • Bring to a boy. LULZ

  • why not just take the lid off to let the steam escape?

  • thank you . but confusing is rice-water ratio. somebody says 1 -1.5 ... 1-2 ... 1-2.5 and .... 1-4 . the other confusing is boiling . somebody says brown rice is like pasta so you must put in after boiling water. and last confusing is timing . many people agree 40-45 minutes after boiling with lower heat. somebody says 30 minutes. I think best metdods experience .

  • where you from honey? Japan or China?

  • The first step to cooking brown rice is to realize that brown rice will NEVER have the same consistency as white rice. Don't try to compare the two. Brown rice will always be a little wetter and denser than white rice. Just deal with it and enjoy it!

  • Sure as hell don't look like brown rice to me...

  • ADD a piece of salmon an some veggies an you're good togo

  • Very useful video - but does the author intend people can download it ? I want to put it on my ipod so I have it when I need (internet is not everywhere yet). I know how to do it but I don't want to rip anyone off here or do anything illegal. Author please respond, maybe post link where can be downloaded from or at least post your intention that it can be downloaded freely (or say otherwise). -andy

  • @josephfredbill jeez man, your such a goodie-too-shoes. download the shit if you need it, i doubt the FBI will be after you for ripping a you tube vid about brown rice.
