@CR2501A hows about you stop trolling and insulting a man who puts his time and effort to give us free and detailed lessons. If you dont like his singing, go learn this song from somebody else.
I just have to say I really enjoy your guitar lessons. The songs you teach are right up my alley, I have always loved the classics. Thanks for all of your time and dedication.
Thanks for the lesson. I've always liked your teaching style. After playing the guitar for 30 years I am just now starting to learn 'Travis-Picking'. Do you alternate between the bass strings only at the chord changes? I took your advice and purchased a 'Little Martin' guitar..It's a great sounding guitar and good quality for the price. Being an old-timer ( born in 1953) I'm wondering why you don't delete the vulgar posts from the ill-mannered morons that insist on vulgarity?
thank you soo much 4 sharing ,4 ur time .love the way u break it down and combine it with the singing . you are gold to us Humans .i will certainly apreciate u 4 the infinity of time .
Always a great instruction from you Mark! Thank you so much for helping us to learn these songs that seem impossible for mediocre players. Its fun to try and to get better and better!
When you play the d minor chord, do you squeeze the 4th and 1st strings or still on the 5th? That's the only part I can'T get to sound right. Great lesson, best on the web.
Great Play!!! I know how play Dust in the wind in my own version. But im not sure when to use 3 to four fingers and the last part of the song is a little hard for me. Thank you.
Mike, forgot to mention in my last comment....I adore your wallpaper!! In fact, I really love the background to your lessons. Love all the personal bits and pieces. It's much more pleasant than the usual blank wall studio type environment. Great.
Unfortunately, I still just can't catch that walking bass bit. I know it's literally only 2 or 3 notes, but I can't catch on to which ones they are & the ones I'm trying sound wrong.
Hi silverrainhorse, Glad you like all my little do-dads, I do too, and there is a story for every one. Keep practicing you will get the walking bass, it is always a little tricky for beginners.
Fab! Thank you so much. Only thing I can't get the hang of is the walking bass bit. I know it's going from Am to C but I'm unsure of the order of the strings & which should be held down during the walking bass bit. I'll probably get it if I watch it over a few times. I have to say, from a beginners point of view there are some genuine people giving great lessons on You Tube that other people are charging a fortune for and often aren't even as good! Thanks again.
I enjoy all of your songs, I think this one you might try to place a capo on 2nd fret it might be more in your vocal range,so you don't have to reach so high. Just me. Good job though.
Great lesson Mark. I still cannot get over how majestic that Simon and Garfunkel guitar is. I was watching the lesson with one on the wall behind you!
Awesome as always Goldhat, and it's one of my favorite songs of all time. I understand how some folks don't get the song or get it and don't like it. But the tune itself is great, I like the words myself, and you do it justice as always. Thanks for bringing some of these songs back to life for the rest of us, take care Goldhat! It does look like you continue to enjoy yourself. :-)
Not my favorite song to listen to, anymore, anyway, but one of the songs I'm enjoying playing cuz once you get the picking down it's so easy and recognizable with nice easy to do chords, so I'm practicing it alot these days - and loving it, so once again EXCELLENT lesson and thank you so much (keep the easy ones coming!)
I appreciate the lesson, goldhat. Just saw this in my subscription, and wanted to throw a quick comment. I wanted to say that this one classic pop/rock tune that I never could like. I never understood why. It's such a beloved and popular song. Maybe I heard it one too many times as a teenager on classic rock channels. I dunno. But thanks for the lessons, I do appreciate it.
