I know this is a tribute to Randy, but it had to be the worst concert I went to. I can remember Ozzy's voice cracking at every attempt to hit a high note and Randy's sound was bad.
They never came out for an encore and they started to take the stage down before the first person even got up. If I remember this correctly, they were preparing for the big New Years eve concert with Y&T the next night.
I shouldn't be complaining..I saw the Best guitarist of my lifetime.
I remember a Werid Guy who Tired for the Ozzy Guitar Spot after Jake Left.. And he would Mock Randy and Try and talk like him. He kept saying you're a better Guitar player all the time, I think it was the Drink.
great clip l ve never heard an interveiw with him before thanx for posting it , l m wondering if anyone has any other cool stuff of him speaking because he was nt with us for long and there can t be much of him about except for the great music he left us with....l often wonder what he d be doing now
The interviewer is the late GREAT Sheila Rene. She had two fantastic can't-miss radio interview shows in the Bay Area. I still have many on cassette. Loved her!
Great to hear Randy's voice. He sounds intelligent and gracious.
You can tell he was overwhelmed with the whirlwind of success, which was nothing compared to the accolades he had no clue would be given years after his death.
@GohModley actually i read that he spoke like that all the time..." californian drawl" i know this guy that met him in a record store in cali...1980? and chatted for quite some time he told me the whole story, about randys chat to him about classical music and how much he loved mozart, etc and how important classical music was to him.
God that is so sad- that idiot drunk pilot killed him trying to show off.

I think it's cool how you can hear a hint of a British accent that I'm sure he picked up from being around Ozzy and Sharon mostly.
