  • Cities... Just sayin'. Great idea on the video, pretty bad quality, agree that some epic music would jazz it up. I liked it though. And I "liked" it.

  • IT's a good idea but the lighting is bad and you can't really see what's going on :( A more top-down shot would have less distraction in it and some music would be nice :P can't wait to see the next one ;)

  • altoids are seein alot of action. what does that tell you?

  • der linke hat geschummelt, das hab ich genau gesehen!

  • Where's the beeeeerrrr?? :P

  • And now.... TRADERS AND BARBARIANS!

  • That altoids idea is nice.

  • The banker is cheating.

  • My brother brought it from Germany before it was available in the UK. We changed a couple of the rules. When starting, instead of first settlements being put on in the order player 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4, we changed it to players 1-2-3-4-4-3-2-1, made going first less of an advantage. We discount 7's in the first round, this saved the last player having the chance of losing a "road" if he had wood and brick from one of his settlements. We play to 12 points as 10 is over too quickly. AWESOME GAME

  • Where were all of the mixed drinks that must accompany playing the game?? :)

  • Used to do this often with some friends in New Zealand. Brings back good memories. You do this much?

  • Props. This is pretty epic. Have you thought about pushing it even further??

  • i think tis would be a time lapse

  • 4 players, huge board, with play with C&K, seafarers, & fishing grounds (no great river), we use the placcards of biggest army/3 ports/longest road (ties place placcard back into bank). Takes us about 2 hours to play to 17 points. We all get an even start on a main area (1 island or 4 islands) then all other tiles are face down. When a plyer touches a new tile with boat or road they flip the tile and get that resource (water = a draw from the fish tokens).

  • Hahaha the altoid box was moving like crazy:p

  • hey trumpet210 how good is that game, rate it form 1 to 10?

  • I'd give it an 8.5; It is a lot of fun, but the luck element is a bit larger than I would like it to be since there are dice. You could be a master at the game and still lose many times because your numbers don't get rolled!

  • ok, tnx

  • @trumpet210 With city and knights, it's pretty playable. We also add custom game elements :-D

  • @trumpet210

Then try cardstack; it's in the barbarians and traders expansion; it gives a better spread of numbers!

You can make it yourself too:

    make 36 cards: 1x2 2x3 3x4 4x5 5x6 6x7 5x8 4x9 3x10 2x11 1x12.

shuffle them, remove 4 or 5 cards and draw them, when the stack is depleted reshuffle all 36 cards and romove 4 or 5 ect ect

  • @trumpet210 Play with event cards then.

  • @trumpet210 I always win by being a mean trader, and make other players distrust eachother :D

  • @trumpet210 You should try it with the event cards rather than dice. Far less random and makes the game a bit more strategy based than luck based (though there is always a bit of luck in any game).

  • @Haku1234567890

    Basic 9

    cities and knights 10

  • @Haku1234567890

i thought carcassonne was more fun, and you can play it with 2 people.

  • @246trinitrotoluene I've got the settlers of catan..too late :D

  • Where do you get those EDGE-PIECES that create a rectangular board?

  • We have the original copy of the Seafarers expansion that has these pieces. I'm not sure if the newer versions have them.

  • ALTOIDS

  • That's mega catan action right there

  • i have de original catan and the cities and knights expansion, i like to buy the sefarers expansion to play together with the two expansion, i only play with my brother and my friend, do you recomended to buy the expansion and play the 2 expansion together if we are only three people ?

  • This is really cool. I have to try this with my friends. We discussed Catan on the most recent episode of our podcast, tgweekly.

  • looks like a fun game

  • You should all try games(.)asobrain(.)com. Imo a real good catan website or google for Xplorers

  • We have played the Great Catan using basic+6 player expansions hexes+eafarers+c&k with 4 opponents to a victory of 18 points. Average playtime about 3 hours. It's great!!!

  • dude, sometimes with the basic catan no expansion just 10 points to win it takes us an hour with 4 people!

    this mustve taken 3-4 hours?

  • 4.5 I believe.

  • =O

    wow awesome

  • It isn't THAT crazy... My family and I made some custom pieces to go with the cities + seafarers and it was HUGE! It took up the whole table (which was about 4*5!) Yeah, we've spent a *little* too much time with that game!

  • I would love to hear more about your families custom pieces for settlers we have some of our own

  • Ummm, well, we have two more cards (Pearl and Sand/Trees) which we made a lot of, and pearl can be used as anything you want them to be, and sand is used for making islands. You get them by sailing over and "creating an island" with sand (which you start off with 7 of), and that island provides pearls (you get a number count with a roll of dice. That roll says the number that goes on the island). If you want to know more, just friend me and I'll go more in depth. I've run out of comment space.

  • by watching this big playable area... i wanna have all games :(

  • I love the Greater Catan scenario.

  • Have you tried it with Cities? We played for 21 points and it took forever to finish, but was a blast.
