you guys just have to mess around with the program a little, try looking at the sample songs and seeing what kind of effects they use or unique patters. it can also be helpful to look at the sample songs for references on how to create ones own songs and arrangements. just need to download your own sound samples.
wished there was a course to learn this stuf, it realy is a lot of finding out on yourself before understanding comes, the manual does not say al and the help sections do not say also how to get it .I just see what nice grooves come up and put it togheter on a boss br 600, and who wants to hear grooves like this anyway.
Hey you guys, all of you that say this is limited are pretty... dumb. You can add your own sounds by using the sampler and you can definately create you own patterns. By dragging the mouse in the pattern editor. They give you the option to use theirs but if youre smart you can do it without it. I have this software. I NEVER use their patterns. My music is very original and i gets mad sells. Dont knock it till you try it. Lol. shakin my damn head.
I was wondering... Can I say load a Frank Sinatra sample into K2 and loop/chop using my Axiom 25? If so,how? And please...don't chew my head off cause I'm a newbie.
Kinetic 2 is very old and no longer supported. It's also only made for XP. Because it's old and currently on sale at Cakewalk's site for $10 (it should be free!) you may as well just purchase it because there is no demo.
Kinetic is very limited in it's capabilities so advanced users beware! Kinetic is a novelty item at best. Oh... and don't expect any support ,bugfixes, or feature request. Kinetic is baked!
No, you are not limited to the sounds heard here but there is a great collection of sounds included in this software. Cakewalk products support all VST and DirectX instruments.
people used to get mad at the stealing music cuz.. music its suppousted to be an art of its creator.. this world its full of people that copy and steal.. theres nothing u can do
it was always like that...what is the possibility of someone copying your idea? No really, would you really think theres like only one person with imagination like yours and that person being you? Ofcourse not...even when I imagine stupid go to google..turns out to be other 5000 people thought of same thing
i know what he means. It means, that you're not really composign anything. You're just mixing various patterns together. But its is limited to what the program can do, which is very limited.
no..thats so not true..maybe for a guy like you or the guy in the video....you can just use groove instruments and compose using instruments themselves...then you can play the instrument note on the another spectrum and echo and effect as such..in the end it is YOUR song..
kinetic 2 is pretty cool , but i only use it in rewire mode , and only use 1-2 soundz from it max , per song . u can just use the instruments and play what u want , or u can just use the midi files, or both , but any instrument can go with any midi file
This is unoriginal. You are basically putting together a song by using other people's sounds. You did not compose anything, only copying and pasting. WOW! That was hard and very creative...Right?
@Chaos13666 thats a good point but what about sampling? artist take the sample and chop it up and place it in pieces so it fits a groove pattern everyone does it but thats where the culture comes in people would go to record stores and look through old jazz records or other old stuff in search of something good to sample, theres a good way to soample and there is a bad way. this is video is the bad way.
ok i have a sound picked for the grid and i made a new pattern witht the grid and i wanan use it but everytime try to record my new pattern on the grid the old one automatically plays from groove..so how do i just record/play the new pattern i made on the grid with the sound i picked
i hope the version 3 KINETICK but i dont like much but i need aT force the PIANO FOR MAKING MY MUSIC. I LIKE USE LOOP F THE PROGRAMS AND THE SEQ is cool.
how do i edit the notes of patterns/sounds to make them higher or lower? no matter where i drag or what i click i can not get it to do anything different.
Does anyone know of any free software thats good for doing rock drums on i don't have space for a real drum kit. Any information would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
Does anybody know how or where I can patten beats and Lyrrics i have made so I can copyright my material??? Im trying to finish my 1st album and I need to do that.
I got this on thursday (4/3/08) and im still messing around with it. But still kinda complicated! on gettin everything set up together into 1 whole song! I did however make a short song, just by listening to one of the grooves. Kinetic is great! But im im actually playin with it,now I gotta really work on it after watchin this video! - Thanks,American Musical! and CakeWalk!
Kinetic does not record audio itself. If you record teh sample in another application like Pyro or Audio Creator, you can import and triggeer the sample in Kinetic
Sorry I hit remove to your last question rather than Reply. Kinetic is a good tool for making beats and backing tracks but does not allow you to record audio, so you could not record your rhymes with it. Pro Suite gives you everything you need: thousands of instrument sounds, the best recording mixing and editing tools, and awesome beat making capabilities. It's like comparing a drum machine to an entire studio. Let me know if you have more questions.
alright thats all i needed to kno, im gonna be makin some money this summer and ima buy it then, or if a newer version comes out ill buy that heh sounds real solid
Is this program better than FL Studio 7.0? I have Fl Studio and just received kinetic as a gift. I was wondering what some of the differences are and which one is easier for beginners?
If your USB audio interface works with Windows, it is Windows-compatible. And chances are it uses WDM or Asio drivers to communicate with Windows, even if it plugs in via USB
I saw your comment about this program only being made for Windows 2000 and XP. I have Windows Vista, is there a programme out there that is as good as this one and can be used on Windows Vista?
I have Kinetic 2 and not 1. I noticed at Musician's Friend Kinetic 1 cost more than 2. Is 2 an upgrade? Would there be any advantages in buying 1 also? Thanks.
No this is a sequencing application only. You could get something like Music Creator 4 or SONAR Home Studio to record your audio. Kinetic will plug into these applications and you can use them together
I've posted a video response with a song where I used Kinetic 2. I created my drum loops, guitar and vocals in Cakewalk Sonar and converted them to Acid Loops (RIFF). (I used soundfonts for drum sounds) I have over 50 acidized loops averaging from 4 measures up to 48. I only used about 16 of these loops and the arrangement in the video is one out of many possibilities. The effects in Kinetic are great!!
You can have 64 banks of 16 tracks...just to be clear though this is a sequencer for beats and tracks, not an audio recorder. If you want to record vocals I would recommend a variety of SONAR
But I have the foundation midi files from all songs created initially elsewhere. I would like to be able to fully move everything over to the Macbook, but now I see that it may be too much trouble. I have already ordered SHS 6 XL and will have to keep moving forward instead.
Too bad K1 or K2 has not followed suit in working with OSX, but they are still great programs.
I did get SHS 4 XL to run again on my Macbook but for some reason, songs created and expanded with loops and samples on the PC will not play without crashing the software. I think that it is looking for files in a different folder directory and the folder system was not the same since I had CW PA9 on the PC and never on the Mac.
SHS XL runs fine if it ever boots but K2 won't. I am using Parallels. I had to reinstall SHS 4 XL after having an OSX issue and it has not run since.
K2 will not get enough CPU resources freed to run clearly, but I have been traveling without the opportunity to fully dive into the reinstallations of everything.
Starting an installation after 10 p.m. is not a good idea regardless of which program is being installed:)
What steps are needed to get K2 working on a 1st gen Macbook with 2 GB RAM? I already have both, but something is slowing the processor speed way down.
Kinetic includs lost of loops and patterns, and also provides a great interface to step enter your music, so a MIDI keyboard is not necessary to get started. But having a keyboard does add a new dimension to what you can do with Kinetic, because you can play the parts you want to record, and also use it to trigger loops and patterns.
Kinetic does not record audio, it's for making beats and electronic music tracks only. If you have your vocals recorded as WAV or MP3 files, you can import them and trigger them along with your arrangement in Kinetic. You could also do your vocals in Cakewalk Music Creator or SONAR, then plug Kinetic in to those apps via ReWire.
