Are you going freehand? That is pretty crazy. If that thing exploded and blew your hole head off that would be insane. Hope it doesn't though so I can keep watching sweet videos like this one.

I have the Keith Clark deep hollowing system and it gives you the benifit of free hand or the option of a captured bar. Do you fill the bar with buck shot?

Is this end grain hollowing? I'm having a hard time with the tool catching and putting a lot of pressure on the one way chuck.

I have taken this tool to 12-14 inches but expect it to go 24".
The nice thing about this design is that you can take the bit adapter and put it on a larger diameter pipe with a adapter, to get more length.
Of course if you are boring thorough a small hole it restricts the bar diameter.
