Maybe they shouldn't let people drive around in jeeps? Why not give them enclosed cars, or something? If they want footage, they can roll down a window, or strap themselves into the passenger seat, and open a door. It was still euthanized due to its territorial instincts, and for chasing the jeep due to the instincts. Shame the animal was put down. All he probably had to do was to stand up and make himself bigger thatn the bird. We had an ostrich like this at a a reserve near us. We used to call him Terror. Our safari guest loved it, although it had a bit of Stephen King element. The moment you started to drive it thought it won the battle. No need to shoot it at all.

But eh hitting it with a bat probably would have pissed it off more then you realize, and could have made the whole situation end quite differently due to a animal's fight or flight response. It may have considered the jeep just passing due to territorial issues, however if it attacked it may take it as something else and try to harm the occupant.
