@elai001 It depends on what kind hes talking about, and your right most last around 1-2 years, but others can last longer some up to five years. The other factor is how well kept it is, water quality, how often you clean the tank/filter, and depending on the stress of your octopus as well.
ok sorry i know this sounds really ignorant xD but... can someone tell me if it is possible to have the octopus out of the tank from time to time? would it move on the ground? can u hold it and it won't harm you?????
@thebroadster He passed away some time back. They live 6 to 18 months in the wild. These videos of him is just my way of sharing the fun experiences we had raising him.
my buddy had one but it got out of it's tank and went into the other tank across the room and ate the fish during the night. They woke up to him in the fish tank
ha lol isee one do this in wild in greece i picked a big red shell up and wow thats a big one and i showed my mom and i went bak to get another and its reached out and grabbed the shell again lol i shited myself and told mum agian she came and sterted holding it and then some kids started poking it with fishing nets tight bastards and then my dad came and shouted the fuck at em they started crying lol and i gave it its big red shell back the end
I have seen them in tide pools going in and out of water over rock. Since their skin is pretty sensitive and has to stay wet, I would say they don't want to be out of water for more than 20 or 30 seconds.
Bimacs are not poisonous. They can be dangerous because they have a strong hard beak like a parrot at his mouth and can make a hole in a mussel shell. When he grabs on to me, I usually just present a flat part of my hand or fist so that he cannot peck at me. Never my finger!!
That is AWESOME!! And funny. I want one!!!

This was your octopus's way of asking you to put a feng shui book infront of its tank before you go to sleep at night :)

@Quickwestion He can probably teach us a thing or two about feng shui, especially the water element.

@Tunnelfish The closest thing to a scallop that he has captured and eaten was a clam. It was amazing to watch.
