Seem to recall having a damn good time at a Joe Satriani gig back in the early 90s, and that was mainly instrumentals.

Think it best to just have differing opinions: I'll stay with mine that if a song is an instrumental in the studio then it doesn't really benefit (in this case, but as I say it is subjective) from becoming a live "non-instrumental". I like the instrumental of this, but not the live.
