There is a manual water pump on top the bike, with a water tank under the aluminum cover. Another pump located on the low left side of the bike can automatically add water to the boiler as the bike travels.
The boiler inside the wooden box operates at approximately 100 lbs. of steam pressure. Charcoal is burned in the fire box. The engine produces an estimated 2 horsepower.
The steam bike will probably go 40 mph or so. It has a water tank in it, but you have to shovel the charcoal. The Hudspeth steam bike has an automatic liquid feed burner.
are these things street legal with out a lisence?

The steam bike has not been tested to find out exactly how long it would run on charcoal and water.
